Stephanie is a lifesaver! My husband and I did a virtual lactation consultation with her before my…read moredelivery, around 34 weeks. All I can say is that Stephanie's expertise and guidance truly set me up for success when I delivered and breastfed for the first time. After our session, I knew the basic ways to hold my baby cross body - tummy to tummy - and in football hold, how to position my nipples for an optimal latch, how to keep my baby awake while she was feeding, how to unlatch properly, how to burp the baby and overall just have the confidence I needed to breastfeed as a first time mom. Lots of friends warned me about cracked and bloody nipples and how they couldn't wear bras or clothes for weeks because they were in so much pain. Stephanie's guidance spared me from the bloody, cracked nipples!! Sure, I was sore from the newness of it all but I was able to wear bras and clothes from day 1 and this is because Stephanie was able to teach me all the right ways to position myself (my posture), my nipples/areoles, and my baby's latch. When baby wasn't latched right and it was painful, I knew how to safely fishhook my baby's mouth open to start over. Breastfeeding is a really daunting, scary thing to do for first time moms but Stephanie really takes a humble approach to address your concerns, she shares information with you slowly and also provides great demonstrations so you can really get the hang of it. Another perk about choosing Stephanie as your lactation consultant is that she is available to you after hours if you're having trouble or if you have questions and need advice. She was always available via text and FaceTime, which was such a relief to know that I could have extra help when needed. I felt so comfortable with Stephanie the entire time and I will 100% recommend her to any of my friends who are going to have a baby. Stephanie's services are worth every penny! 5 stars! After I delivered and started breastfeeding, the doctors, nurses and lactation consultants who were rounding would all compliment how comfortable and natural breastfeeding was for me and my baby. If multiple professionals are complimenting you, you know you did something right! And I know that my success with breastfeeding is because of Stephanie! Thank you Stephanie!!

I felt like I should add another 5-star review for another great experience with Stephanie. Two…read moreyears ago, she helped us figure out breastfeeding with our first daughter. We recently had another beautiful girl, and Stephanie was the first one we called when we hit a breastfeeding bump. This time around, we thought we had the hang of breastfeeding, and in a lot of ways, we were more comfortable. But our newest little angel had a shallow latch that was causing some real pain for my wife. We knew Stephanie would have the answers, and sure enough, she came through for us. Stephanie reminded us of a few techniques we'd forgotten, and just like magic, our daughter's latch improved, and breastfeeding is far more comfortable. This second visit also reminded me why Stephanie is so worth a visit, because she can save families literally thousands of dollars by helping mothers use the right techniques with their little ones. I remember with our first daughter, doctors recommending supplementing with formula, pumping when it was unnecessary, and this time around, someone recommending we look into tongue tie surgery for our daughter's shallow latch. We could have gone down these roads, and honestly, these might be needed in some cases and there's nothing wrong with that. But a visit from Stephanie was all we needed to get on a roll with another beautiful breastfeeding journey for my wife and our daughter. Thank you so much Stephanie!

The doctors are top notch. I've been seeing PA Bethany and my wife has been seeing Dr. Koester for…read moreyears. Bethany has done several procedures on my face and does incredible work. My problem is with the billing dept. My wife has needed an allergy shot every month for the last year. Before starting we were told that they could administer the shots there or we could probably do it ourselves if we felt confident doing so, and if they did it it would only be a minimal amount. That turned out not to be the case, as the doctor pointed out fine print in the RX that it needed to be done in a medical setting. That was fine until the first bill. We were charged $52 for 5 minutes of a nurses time. That is more than the co-pay to see the doctor for a visit. After some talking an arrangement was made to charge ONLY $30. But every time I have to argue with billing to remind them of that arrangement. This time my wife went alone and was charged $80, 30 for the nurse and 50 for a co-pay. And she never saw the doctor. Sadly, that is the last straw and we are through with this office. Is money needed so badly that the billing department has to rake patients over the coals to squeeze every possible dollar from them?

DO NOT USE THIS DR!!!…read more I had an appointment yesterday with an OGBYN my regular doctor referred me to. I'd tried multiple birth controls for the past 2.5 years and they were all hormonal. My body hasn't reacted well to them. They caused me to bleed almost daily. I was lucky to have a few days a month without bleeding. So after much trial and error my doctor recommended I try the copper IUD as it's non-hormonal. Rewind 2.5 weeks ago. I went in to Dr Mukesh Parekh at Northwest Obstetrics and Gynecology PLLC. I was supposed to get my Nexplanon birth control removed and the copper IUD in. When he came into my room not once did he let finish ONE sentence and barely would look at me. He started asking me all of the questions I had already answered on the forms I filled out and were right in front of him. Not in a way of double checking, but in a demeaning manner as if he was testing me, and still as I'd be finishing my answers he'd cut me off. Then he asked why I was there today even though my appointment had been scheduled over a week ago and the info of why I was there was on a page in front of him. He then asked me if I had researched the copper IUD and I said yes and started to tell him why I wanted that one, he immediately interrupted me and kept telling me why I "don't want that one". Finally after my several attempts to get a finished sentence in he said he'd give me one "but not today". He said he'd take out the Nexplanon but he said "it's far too painful to get the IUD in except when you're in your bleeding cycle". I told him I was currently in my cycle and that I have a very high tolerance of pain. I pulled up my phone to show him my app that tracks my cycle and set it on the counter for him to see. As I was trying to tell him I didn't want a lapse in my birth control, he again refused to give me the IUD that day, then he snapped at me for my phone being on "his counter" even though I set it there for him to see. He said "get this off my counter" took my phone and dropped it on the bench I was sitting on and said "don't put things up here". He kept insisting he'd only give me the IUD on my next cycle because he wasn't sure if the period I was having now was a "real one". So I got my Nexplanon removed and I was scheduled to go in for a checkup the following week. The following week was dead in the middle of the Snow Pacalypse, so I got rescheduled for the following week. That was yesterday. First I spoke to the nurse and told her I'd like to go ahead and get the copper IUD today because my fiancé and I had unprotected sex 5 days ago and I knew that the copper IUD is the most effective form of emergency contraceptive but that it has to be put in 5 days from the day of unprotected sex. She looked at me like I was crazy and said "oh no... you're mistaken". I told her I had researched it thoroughly and everything said the same thing. She told me "Well I've never heard that, but you can ask the doctor when he comes in". While I was waiting for the doctor to come in I pulled out my phone and very quickly found the info on MANY credible websites saying what I had said, that the copper IUD is even more effective than the morning after pill. One page was planned parenthood's so I knew it was legit. The doctor came in and again he hardly looked at me. He checked my arm (which healed up fine) and I told him what I had told the nurse earlier. While I was talking he started shaking his head no and interrupted me saying "Nope. No. It doesn't work that way." I said "well right here I can show you multiple credible sites that say"... he interrupted me again shaking his head, waving his hands at me and clinched his eyes shut as I was trying to show him my phone, "No you just have to wait until your next cycle, if you're pregnant then sorry, you had unprotected sex." I said "so you will not give me the IUD? You refuse to give me that? That is the only reason my doctor referred me to you, to get my birth control switched out. Now I need this birth control before it's too late, and today is the last day I can get it." He said "well sorry I won't do it. I don't agree with it." I haven't been so upset in a LONG time. He KNEW it could be used as an emergency birth control but he refused to do it. As I was leaving I was crying I was so upset. **BIG NOTE** Within less than a day of me posting my experience on my personal Facebook page I had more than 5 of my personal friends comment saying they also had used Dr Mukesh Parekh in the past (over many years) and also had horrible experiences. I am dumbfounded that I am the only one who has posted negative reviews on here or on Facebook. This has taught me a big lesson. PLEASE be sure to ask your friends for references on doctors so you don't end up experiencing horrible things like I did.
