I found SHSWC while helping a friend find a caregiver. It's the owner Katie and the agency's business model that make it particularly special. The business model of more mature adults as the caregivers is fantastic. In our experience, the caregivers aren't always "seniors" by definition, but they have been mid-40s or better, which I think is good when the person receiving the care is a senior (which my friend is). And this is not to take anything from younger caregivers, but there's a lot to be said for a more peer-to-peer relationship and life experience, which tends to bloom with age. And the owner Katie is awesome! She is kind, dynamic, upbeat, solution-oriented, skillful and dedicated. She has been amazingly reachable directly and when not available at the moment, she's gotten back to us quickly. She has taken great care in setting up the right matches between my friend and her caregivers (as opposed to just filling an opening). And more than once, she has gone well above and beyond the call of duty for us. So, if you're looking for a caregiver, I'd highly recommend touching bases with Katie to see if SHSWC might be a good match.
