I have been going to Minuteman Press for a few years now, one and off whenever small printing projects come up. I'm usually at the Columbia location, but I visited this Rockville location last week - and the customer service was awesome! Pros: Compared to Kinkos or Staples, they have better customer service. Jim (new manager) is very friendly and optimistic with your project. For me, I went in for a walk-in turnaround (normally people will order earlier, wait a couple days, then pick up) But I had an emergency print job, and he was very helpful to get it done right then and there... It took around 10 minutes to wait for my project. Note: The color quality was actually SUPERB compared to Staples and Kinkos (due to the nicer paper and nicer ink...) I can count on Minuteman for the overnight/last minute print jobs... because of their great service - especially to those who are trying to come back again (like me!) I've built up a great relationship with the Columbia location, and so I continue to support this business. I go for lots of nonprofit work, especially for churches, so they are great in doing the tax-free for me and doing their best to keep costs as low as possible for the church budget. Cons: Parking is a little walking distance away. I grabbed a nice metered spot nearby the corner... Spent a quarter for 15 minutes though - there isn't really a nice open parking lot. The interior is also not that wonderful, a little messy.. but - then again, it's a very small print job. But don't let that fool you! Their service is great, the quality is great.... and for at least my projects, I don't have to pay for any special shipping. Jim also waived the "rush order fee" for me. He's doing a great job as the new owner by the way. (I've met the older owner before a year and half ago... wasn't close as helpful to me as Jim). read more

Ada and her team have been doing work for my company for many years. I have found them to be courteous and professional. They never get ruffled when I bring them a rush project. Excellent customer service; one that really cares about the customer's project! I am a graphic design student doing all the print design work for my sister's wedding - a big project, a big deal! The staff guided me along the process for production as well as cutting and punching holes - this also helped me learn more about the printing process and how to send materials to the printer. The colors did not come out right the first time but they continued to do what they can to make it sure it was right - no extra cost. Jim, the manager even came in on a Saturday to help complete the production in time for my sister's wedding! (They are closed on Saturdays). Tip: If your project has more specifications to it than just a b/w, letter-size print, I would suggest coming in (instead of sending a file through the website and picking it up) and have them do a test print before printing all the copies! This way you can have a better look at the print, make sure all the color is right, the paper, etc. It is also good for proofreading for mistakes or design mistakes on your part. The price is the best you can get, especially for small projects. Highly recommended! read more

All I can say is that these guys are amazing. Very professional, helpful and affordable. When our local Rockville Minuteman closed, I went to this Gaithersburg location and got great service, graphics expertise, and a beautiful finished product. Didn't have a positive experience. Emailed them about a job on Monday that I needed for Friday. I never got a response back, emailed them again the next couple of days. I was finally told that they need a 3-5 day prior notice or a rush fee will apply. If they bothered to respond to their emails on time, this would not be an issue but it's the customers fault for "not giving enough notice" Right so as if that was not bad enough, the fees for the rush fee I was quoted was over 100% of the fee for the job...nice, glad these guys don't run a monopoly otherwise we'd all be screwed over big time for every print needed. On top of that I spoke to one of their employees over the phone that could use some lessons in customer service. I had gone in for another job earlier a couple of weeks ago which (the experience had it's own issues but was better than this last attempt to give them business) I asked for a quote on a job and was given an estimate. I call and tell the same lady I spoke to in person a couple of weeks ago this and she laughs asking if I have the quote in writing, I'm not asking for anything complicated lady..if you are really so distrustful why don't you take oh I don't know a minute out of your busy schedule to check what you charge for a rather routine job. But of course she can't be bothered so it gets left off at that. Really this is an example of what not to do in a business. Hire employees that are suppose to represent the face of the company who show a lack of effort, I mean if this company and that particular employee had spent 10 minutes with me they would have been $50 more profitable in the short term and potentially 100s of dollars more profitable in the long term, from 1 customer. But instead they chose to show that they simply cannot be bothered to worry about customer service. Their business model is this: It is not what is convenient for the customer, it is what is convenient for us at any given moment. And this is the problem with this printing company. As a customer I have options. I EMAILED another printing company (AlphaGraphics) at 8 in the morning on Wednesday because Minuteman Press was giving me too much of a headache. The OWNER of AlphaGraphics personally responded to me 30 minutes later, told me "No problem, we'll get it done" And you know what, they freaking did. No hassle, no rush fees, no nonsense, oh yeah...and GREAT customer service. They finished my job and did great work too in 2 days notice from when I needed the product. THAT is great customer service. My advice, save yourself the headache of doing business with Minuteman Press printing in Gaithersburg, just go to AlphaGraphics and get the great customer service that you, as a PAYING customer deserve. To the business owner, I highly recommend you retrain your employee(s)..when they cannot be bothered to do things because it is too inconvenient and when they go out of there way to rip off the customer there is something really wrong (my requested job was 1 product, I was not asking for a 100 prints...if another company can do it in 2 days notice then you should have no problem doing it in 3 days...don't give me your rush fee nonsense and do bother to check your email messages so we can avoid issues like this in the first place) At the end of the day you lost my business and potentially a lot more after this review because your employee could not bother to spend 10 minutes and provide great customer service and care that any paying customer deserves to get from a business. Lesson learned on my end, won't make the same mistake again, will you? read more

We printed our wedding invitations through Minuteman Press in Gaithersburg last September, and they did a great job. They provided excellent customer service, high quality invitations and very reasonable prices, all in a quick time frame. We would highly recommend them. A friend of ours designed our invitations, and Minuteman Press was able to work with us to print them using our friend's design. We worked closely with Ada Pineda, and she was very helpful, friendly and responsive. I got married one year today and was looking to find someone or somewhere that could professionally inscribe or do Calligraphy on my Marriage certificate before I framed it. I went to Fedex and Staples but none of them were able to do that for me. Walking in Rockville I came across Minuteman Press and decided to give them a try. When I walked in I was immediately greeted with friendly staff and I explained to them what I thought was going to be another disappointing effort. After telling them what I wanted, they looked at me and laughed because they had never came across a request such as mine. The manager along with his co-worked decided to take on my request and as any professional would do, they made sample prints to verify that it was what and how I wanted it before printing on my actual marriage certificate. The service did not take very long and I really love the way it printed out and appreciated that they took the time to TRY and not just say "we don't do that here". That is Great Customer service!
