The wait time is significant enough that I believe I will be changing urgent care facilities. I have used Patient First since I moved to the area five years ago, but I shouldn't have to wait for an hour or two to see a physician or PA at an urgent care that doesn't have a full waiting room. I understand that sometimes there is a rush. That was not the case the last two times I have been in. Don't get me wrong, I have really enjoyed working with Patient First. The facility itself is great and very clean. The staff are friendly and caring. The doctors and PAs have always treated me with respect and been very helpful. But with all the competition there is for urgent care facilities in the area I think I can do better elsewhere. I am not sure what causes this facility to take so long. There seem to be enough staff to get people registered and enough nurses to take a history, BP, weight, etc. Perhaps the bottle neck occurs at the number of doctors staffed at any one time. I am sure an administrator could figure it out in ten minutes if they tried. Maybe now that they know they are losing business as a result of under staffing they will make changes. I know it is quickly becoming the reputation of the franchise. Sorry, again I think it is a great facility and I am pleased with everything but sitting in an exam room for over an hour for a 5-10 minute exam.

Even scheduling this appointment started on a disappointing note, as the gentleman who assisted me over the phone came across as somewhat unprofessional and not particularly welcoming. I came in with 3 health concerns and, after waiting about 20-30 minutes, spent roughly 15 minutes with the doctor. My primary concern was dismissed as allergies with little discussion of other possible causes, testing, follow-up, or a specialist referral. When I asked about weight-loss options, there was no discussion of my health, lifestyle, or available treatments, and I was directed elsewhere. When I brought up stress, anxiety, and mental-health concerns, I was simply given a list of providers to photograph. I understand that not every concern can be resolved in one appointment and that referrals are sometimes appropriate. My disappointment was that I didn't feel my concerns were genuinely explored or that there was much effort to develop a plan moving forward. After reflecting on the visit, I realized I left feeling more like an inconvenience than a patient. Staff said they had it on site & I would be able to pickup that afternoon. Today, Saturday, August 20 is my next opportunity to pickup script. I am here right now (1:53p) to pickup the same medication prescribed to both of my daughters from their pediatrician. I went to the drop-off area 1st to get 1 of my daughter's script refilled (because I was able to get 1 script filled at a CVS in Fairfax days before). The staff informed the medication is NOT in stock they can order it on Monday. NOT enthused with this response because I am here picking up the same medication for my other daughter. I went to the pick up area to get my other daughter's script & mine. I asked the same staff if they will have to order this medication every time I have to refill it (because I have 2 daughters with this script & they each have 2 refills; reason why I tried to refill 1 at the same time I am picking up the other script). Staff said they ordered it, but they must have ordered ONE bottle for 1 of my 2 scripts. And didn't bother to order additional in case I don't have to refill the medication...uh, could they at least ordered 3 bottles?! Then five minutes later they refused to fill the prescription because it was a controlled substance and written by a PA and not a doctor (both of which are perfectly legal in Virginia). So whoever is the pharmacist(s) and techs at this place - they are terrible people, suck at their job, and should find work more suitable to their skills. That is to say, get to digging ditches. Oh, and as I was leaving, the cops showed up to the place because we weren't the only ones they were screwing with and they had completely lost control of the store.

After a proper, thorough examination, the doctor there found that it was not a skin tag at all--it was a large, live tick that had been embedded in my neck for weeks. They removed it immediately.Because Abu Sheriff failed to perform a basic, careful examination, I carried a live tick for days longer than necessary. I have now officially tested positive and been diagnosed with Lyme disease as a direct result of this delayed removal and severe oversight.I have full medical documentation, photographs, and records from Patient First proving this negligence.
