On a serious note, I have been going to this Cardinal Internal Medicine for many years and I never had one complaint about anything. No complaint about care, prescriptions, claims (charges), nor staff, not one thing! I am so grateful to have found this type of compassion still exists for patients. Dr. Amir is very interested in making sure I am well. He chats with me about me and my family. He keeps his eye on my A1C numbers and keeps challenging me to do better. The front desk is very friendly. The nurses are amazing. Joseph, the calling nurse, is fantastic in reminding me about my diet and routine. They lost me & the RN has x-ray vision... I don't like going to the doctor. So when I go it is major or it is for a few things. They called me back & out me in a room. A few minutes later they called my cell & said they were ready for me. I said I was already in a room. They called again and asked me to come in the hall. They had lost me. They take me to another room. I explain I have a really bad cough & that my knee pain was not getting better. The RN without listening to my lungs asked if I knew what Mucinex was... later she did listen to my lungs and repeated the medicine. Then without touching my knee said to take Tylenol and she would put in for physical therapy. Does she have x-ray vision?? I will never go back! read more

I visited the doctor today about having blood work done and a few tests were recommended by my cardiologist. The doctor at Cardinal didn't follow any of the recommendations. It was such a waste of everyone's time! I will not be returning. read more

Awful! Can't get anyone on the phone, at Stafford or Woodbridge. My daughter went there (the Woodbridge location via referral by Stafford office) to get tested for the flu and covid-19 and to get prescribed an antiviral. That was on a Friday. They said they would contact her on Monday with her test results and would provide treatment then (i.e., give her a prescription). Well, no call on Monday, no email, no nothing. We tried calling them to ask about the test results, etc., but it is impossible to get anyone on the telephone. Many of the options in the automated directory just hang up on you when selected. None of the options reach a person. Like I said, Awful! Wasted hours just trying to get through to them. The 5 star reviews have to be either paid for or favors from friends and family. They can't be real. read more

Wow! What happened to this place. Customer service went down the drain. As soon as I walked in it felt like I was on a factory conveyor belt, the front desk girls are rude wouldn't even look at me when talking to me so locked in her computer and that was just the start. I walked in with my wife for a scheduled annual physical. When I walked back to the doctors office the nurse didn't even know how to fill out the intake info on the computer. The doctor was in a complete hurry to get me the heck out of there. I'm on blood pressure medication and never even mentioned my blood pressure results. Gave me a bunch of referral slips from lab results and that was it. Hand you over to someone else. Ultimately someone simply ask that these doctors and staff be a little more empathic and not look at someone like your being processed on a farm. Unbelievable is that my wife had blood work done and her lab results were never consulted with her. This place went down hill so save yourself and go elsewhere. read more

The medical people are great but the business side is terrible. Trying to call the office to talk to anyone is frustrating. I just unsuccessfully tried to log into the "patient portal" again, and failed. There is no one to help. And I havee to post a star rating for the "business" - well the medicine side is five stars, but the business side is zero. read more

Dr. Amir seems to be a great doctor in the 4 visits we have had with him for my elderly father. The staff are also great! My main reason for giving a 4 out of 5 is that when my pharmacy at sams club sends in request for his regular meds, the office never refills them. So they never communicate back to pharmacy to renew the subscription. These are meds that he has been taking for a year and more so they are his regular meds he will have to keep taking lifelong. Perhaps its a staffing issue I don't know. The pharmacy even told us that this office never sends back prescription renewals like other Dr Offices do like clockwork. I don't have this issue with the many other Dr Offices I have to take him to for various medications. So when this happens I am always forced to log into the Cardinal Internal Medicine's website and request it manually. Hopefully they can get this process fixed so its a seamless workflow going forward. Thank you. read more

Hang up the phone on you if they do not want to be bothered, and thats if they answer the phone at all. Leaving a message will not get any results. read more

Three strikes, you're out. They ran a special on IG for facial skin resurfacing, so I thought I'd give it a shot. The first attempt the "doctor" did not know what he was doing. No resurfacing took place - no redness, no peeling,, it like he ran a flashlight over my face and charged me several hundred dollars. I went back to have it redone and this doctor said it was performed incorrectly, the setting was way too low....... (duh). She then went on to tell me about a laser they had that was incredible for sun damage and that it was broken, but being fixed and we discussed doing my arms. I made the appointment online and made notes in the description box and also called the office to confirm that this laser was up and running and told on the phone, "yes, everything should be just fine" -- So, I showed up for my appointment and put in a waiting room. The doctor walked in and asked "why are you here today?" --- Did you read the online appointment?? NO, guess not. I explained she'd seen me before and she had recommended this laser treatment, that would definitely be fixed, I even had the pricing she'd quoted...... "The laser was too expensive to fix, can't do it." So, I left. I am driving all the way from downtown DC, Rt 95 is always a parking lot. It takes over an hour door to door (each way). So, do you think performing a treatment incorrectly is ok? How about not knowing why I made an appointment? Ridiculous. Waste of time, income, money / gas, that I will never get back. Red flags for me - the public waiting room feels dirty in my opinion - stained seats on the chairs, and if this is how you treat people and deal with your cosmetic procedures, I certainly would not trust these people with my health. Been going to this office since they started their practice. A couple of months ago, I was approached by my doctor about a new blood pressure monitoring program. First thing I asked, how much would this cost me, he stated no cost to you. I have signed a consent form as requested. Last week, I received a bill, they have charged me for the program. I went to their office to rectify the charges, they told me that nothing is free anymore and that I have to pay the phone calls they made at their own discretion. They said that it's like a doctors visit. I had them read the consent form I signed and there were nowhere in the form that stated that I have to pay. Further, they notified me that theres more charges to come!!!! So deceiving and bunch of liars!!! read more

It surprises me that Patient First does not have these issues, I called and files were waiting for me. Dr Moussavi has been treating my husband for 7 years. He has always been a healthy guy who just went in once or twice a year untill the last year when my husband has had some serious medical problems which required a lot of visits to Cardinal. They have always been able to fit my husband in for last minute appointments and they have helped us when he needed surgery and we wanted to make sure he got the best possible care. It was great being able to use the patient portal to email our doctor when he needed refills or we had questions about his health. There have been many times we took advantage of the walk-ins and late hours they offer especially now that he is back to work and can't afford to keep taking time off. We have seen all of the providers at the office and we have always felt like he was getting the best medical care. read more

I visited the practice today for the first time. I chose it because it's close to home and their doctors are on Washingtonian's list of Best Doctors. When I called to schedule the appointment, the representative was very polite. I chose to see Dr. Atoussa Farough. The office is located in a nice building, with plenty of parking. The waiting area is nice. When I got there, there was a sign at the front desk that said check in at the kiosk. Then the kiosk said if you're a new patient, check in at the front desk... I think they need to change the sign at the front desk lol. However, the kiosk seems convenient, even though I didn't see anyone use it. The gentlemen at the front desk were super nice and polite. I was given my new patient paperwork to complete, and a new patient bag (although I kept the pen from the bag and gave the rest back, didn't wanna waste anything I wouldn't use). Some things they should consider for the waiting room: - They need some trendy but tasteful magazines: People, Newsweek, Parents, Better Homes, etc. - The TV is on some medical channel. Why not be on CNN? - The layout of the chairs is a bit weird. There are a couple in the corners but the majority either face a wall or the front desk. I sat facing the front desk and could hear every word spoken by the people behind it... all of their personal conversations The examination room was nice and clean. The nurse was nice. Dr. Farough was also nice and thorough. No complaints. I've been searching for a new PCP, so this looks like the place. read more

I went to see Sohail Moussavi after i saw that he was close by and had pretty good reviews online. I have internal medicine doctor that i love, but i was chronically ill for 2 years with no diagnosis at the time, so i decided to try a set of fresh eyes, hoping that he might have an idea of what was going on. I had recently had 3 kidney/liver panels that came back with concerning results. Sohail Moussavi treated me like trash. He was cruel, condescending and the way that he medically gaslighted me was appalling. He actually reduced me to tears in his office and was unapologetic about it. He told me that i had urine and blood in my protein because i didn't eat enough meat (he claimed that if i ate a pile of meat i would get better) and he refused to test me further. Fast forward 6 months- I am now diagnosed with liver disease, kidney failure, pernicious anemia, AFIB, CVID. I am seeing a neurologist for suspected MS as well. RUN RUN RUN. This doctor and his staff is appalling. I knew what my labs meant but this guy with his medical training was absolutely clueless and unwilling to listen to a super sick patient. I don't pay tens of thousands of dollars to grown a*ss adults who refuse to do their jobs. He needs to go into a new profession before he kills someone. I am considering looking into a malpractice suit. read more

This is a one star for the Physician Assistant. I had a shoulder problem for this visit. I was assigned to the Physician Assistant and the visit lasted less than 10 minutes. I explained to her my problem and I am a pretty healthy woman. PA told me that something happened and that my shoulder just mildly popped. She didn't provide any treatment and didn't even X-ray me or reference me to any doctor for further exam. Few months later now, my condition got worse, I looked for another doctors opinion. Other Doctor urged me to see a specialist. The shoulder pain got worse to the point that I couldn't even sleep in the night. Now I have to wear a neck cushion to secure my neck in a proper position to ease my pain caused by shoulder. I think this Physician Assistant ANGIE MINOR shouldn't be seeing a patient alone and shes giving wrong medical information for the patient who puts trust on her. I will never go back to that facility if she is still seeing patients there. read more

I hate doctors offices and the whole idea of going to the doctor, but at the behest of my wife I became a patient at Cardinal. I can't explain how great of a place this is and how I felt leaving. They value you as a patient and take time to really talk and listen. The front area is very cozy and check in his simple. The relationships Robert and Jenn have with the patients is fantastic. Makes you feel welcome and relaxed. My Dr. Is Sohail Moussavi and I've never had a better doctor. HIs calm demeanor created a great bed side manner. I really can't say enough good things about the place. Having everything right there is really convienent too. If you need a doctor in PWC, these are the ones to choose. read more

A year ago, My father-in-law went in for a routine check-up and concerns about a swollen lymph node in his neck. Dr. Alemzadeh sent him immediately for a scan of the mass & sure enough, turned out to be cancerous. He then recommended specialists in the area & his amazing office staff helped us book appointments. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.. for my father-in-law, the one step was going to cardinal internal medicine. I tried to give them a chance after I felt uneasy about my first appointment. I truly hate the one size fit all approach. Regardless if your a doctor, a patient knows their body best and we aren't ignorant of everything medical related. All things don't work for everybody and the relaxed let me listen to your heart approach along with let's find something to accommodate the problem rather putting in the work of actually diagnosing it annoys me.
