Kaiser even told me that if I want to go to a different pharmacy, I do not even have to get a hard copy - just go to your preferred pharmacy and have it transferred. Also, be aware that the OCT things in their pharmacy tend to be overpriced - from our experience, Costco is much cheaper (eg: try pricing loratadine, aka Claritin). It won't matter to us though, because after over 30 years with Kaiser, we'll change plans later this year.

The lovely lady who works there gave me three prescriptions for my flu, (anti-cough, lidocain for throat pain keeping me up at night, and some ear drops) the copay was low, and I got a strep test. I'm holding off on getting a regular primary care physician until my insurance changes to Kaiser in May, so this was perfect for fulfilling my basic medical needs. I wouldn't say it was super high quality medical care, but it's two blocks away from my house and I don't have a car, and I do have the flu so it was pretty much ideal given that all I wanted was to be home in bed. Another benefit of the minute clinic is that it's just walk in walk out, and you don't spend time in a waiting room with a lot of other sick people.

So I went there on Tuesday, Rae greeted me and did what she had to do for Tb procedure. She also reminded me to check with my insurance if they also covers for cvs minute clinic treatment, which they do cover. Two days later, Grace greeted me for TB read, and she helped me going through all the docs needed for claiming the insurance. Basically, before you were seeing by the NP (Nurse Practitioner), you have to sign in from the touch screen computer located outside. You can also fasten the procedure by having this online at home. Then you will get a number. Waiting area is not that big, only have 4 chairs. They don't have buzzers to call you while you wait, so just wait in the waiting room, don't roam around in cvs otherwise you're gonna miss your spot. The office is generally disorganized in terms of setting and keeping appointments, arranging follow-up services, and coordination with specialists. Numerous times I had phone appointments and actually got reminder calls, but the provider never bothered to call. Consequently, I have had reschedule appointments time and again. One time, they got mixed up for an in-person appointment (that they also called and reminded me about), but when I got there they said it was scheduled for a different day (which is not true). Currently, I'm having issues being referred to a specialist. I have received an authorization letter from their physician's network to go ahead and schedule an appointment, but when I called the specialist's office, they said they had no record of the authorization. It turned out that Osita kept trying to fax the authorization to the wrong phone number. This has to be the worst medical facility I have gone to in my lifetime. Thank God I am able to advocate for myself, otherwise I would really be up the creek! As a senior citizen, I think I will transfer to another plan or another physician's office in the fall during the period when that is allowed. I gave this place 2 stars because I am really upset with their business ethics. People are at their lowest when they go to urgent care. They are in pain and not thinking straight. They don't want to think, "is this test necessary?". They will most likely just go with what the doctor (or PA in our case) suggests. Carbon Health knows this, so they suggest a whole lot of unnecessary test which hopefully your insurance will cover. If not, you're footing a massive bill for unnecessary things. With all that said, my wife came to me at 11:30am with stomach pain which she rated at 8/10. We walked out of the urgent care at 12:45 with her rating her pain at 2/10. Do their business practices bug me AF? Yes. Am I grateful to them? Also yes.
