They set up an appointment and then after I left the office, they cancelled the appointment online. All in all, they were unhelpful and didn't listen to me and then also sent me 12 emails overall! I like my doctor at Sutter, but it takes months to see her. Here, I got an appt within 2 weeks. They ordered the expected labs, and I really liked the whole experience. I knew I was pre type 2 diabetic, but my a1c number was fine, which previous to Sutter, Kaiser never looked at. They only ever looked at that day's mg/L or whatever the units are, the one that's supposed to be less than 100. I also have borderline high blood pressure, but they had measured it a few times here, and I had some previous numbers I showed him too. All good, don't need to be on medication. I had Mathew Felix. Not on purpose, but I asked him about a whole bunch of stuff, and from his answers, he was not only quite knowledgeable, but I could tell he still reads about all this to stay up to date. That is AWESOME! So this Urgent Care and Matthew is my new personal care physician.

The lovely lady who works there gave me three prescriptions for my flu, (anti-cough, lidocain for throat pain keeping me up at night, and some ear drops) the copay was low, and I got a strep test. I'm holding off on getting a regular primary care physician until my insurance changes to Kaiser in May, so this was perfect for fulfilling my basic medical needs. I wouldn't say it was super high quality medical care, but it's two blocks away from my house and I don't have a car, and I do have the flu so it was pretty much ideal given that all I wanted was to be home in bed. Another benefit of the minute clinic is that it's just walk in walk out, and you don't spend time in a waiting room with a lot of other sick people.
