If it wasn't for Eliza who is a medical assistant there, I don't know what I would have done without her assistance. After months of going back and forth with the lady in charge of billing, Eliza took the time to help me out to resolve my problem. Was not her job to resolve my problem but with one call, she resolved it by obtaining the authorization numbers that I needed. Eliza has gone above and beyond her job description and she should be rewarded with a raise or a letter of appreciation from her management team for being an outstanding person.

They set up an appointment and then after I left the office, they cancelled the appointment online. All in all, they were unhelpful and didn't listen to me and then also sent me 12 emails overall! I believe they likely are in violation of No Surprises Act and other CA laws designed to protect patients - but I needed medical services at that moment. I would not go here again.

My mother came to discuss years of widespread pain and concerns about fibromyalgia, hoping to discuss evaluation and treatment options with her PCP. Dr. Rajesh Maheshwari was dismissive and condescending and repeatedly raised his voice while discussing her concerns. He repeatedly told her that fibromyalgia is "no longer a diagnosis," despite fibromyalgia being a recognized clinical diagnosis with established diagnostic criteria. When my mother also mentioned CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome), he appeared confused and unfamiliar with what she was referring to. What bothered me most was the way my mother was spoken to. She is a patient dealing with significant chronic pain who came to a physician she trusted looking for help. Instead, when she attempted to explain her symptoms and concerns, she was interrupted and spoken to in a loud, curt manner. His voice was loud enough that I was concerned others outside the room could hear discussion of her private medical information. Regardless of any disagreement about diagnosis or treatment, he needs to improve his bedside manner and the way he communicates with patients, especially those who are already dealing with chronic pain. The entire encounter lasted less than five minutes. Before coming in, his staff told us over the phone that she could come in to be evaluated for this concern. We spent the time and gas traveling to the appointment only to be told after arriving that this was not something he would diagnose or address. If a provider is unfamiliar with conditions such as fibromyalgia or CRPS or does not know how to manage them, the appropriate response is to further one's medical education, review the current literature, and/or refer the patient to someone with the necessary expertise not dismiss the condition or the patient suffering from it. My mother left upset and disappointed. It was especially ironic to hear that fibromyalgia is supposedly "no longer a diagnosis" while saying this directly in front of a medical provider who has seen patients in clinical practice who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia recently.

The lovely lady who works there gave me three prescriptions for my flu, (anti-cough, lidocain for throat pain keeping me up at night, and some ear drops) the copay was low, and I got a strep test. I'm holding off on getting a regular primary care physician until my insurance changes to Kaiser in May, so this was perfect for fulfilling my basic medical needs. I wouldn't say it was super high quality medical care, but it's two blocks away from my house and I don't have a car, and I do have the flu so it was pretty much ideal given that all I wanted was to be home in bed. Another benefit of the minute clinic is that it's just walk in walk out, and you don't spend time in a waiting room with a lot of other sick people.
