The clinic itself was clean and everyone had mask on. The doctor gave me a few recommendations to cure my finger and wrote me a prescription. A week into my recovery, the wrap covering my leg from knee to toes began to come loose -- something my doctor said could be carefully re-wrapped, but which would be extremely difficult for me to manage on my own due to the extent of my injuries. I came to OnPoint, expecting to receive a few minutes of basic assistance and was stunned when the clerk conferred with the medical staff and informed me that re-wrapping is "not something they get involved with." When I said that I found it hard to believe they would prefer I go home and attempt this myself rather than offer minimal help, I received only a shrug. Since I can't drive myself -- it is my right ankle that is broken -- I had to arrange to be be taken to AFC Urgent Care on Weslayan, where the staff took a few moments to assess my situation and re-wrapped the loosened area without hesitation. They even invited me to return if the wrap should come loose again before my follow-up appointment. I understand urgent care facilities have limitations, but refusing to spend five minutes assisting a patient with a serious fracture -- particularly one who cannot simply drive herself elsewhere -- reflects poorly on this practice. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend OnPoint to anyone in a vulnerable sitution.

I'm incredibly grateful for the care I received at AFC Urgent Care…read more After being sick for several days with what started as a cold, I initially visited another urgent care clinic (a different company). I was diagnosed with a viral upper respiratory infection and was only advised to use over-the-counter remedies like Tylenol, throat spray, and Flonase. Unfortunately, my symptoms continued to worsen over the next few days. By the time I decided to go to AFC Urgent Care, my condition had progressed significantly. The congestion had moved into my chest, I was experiencing severe coughing fits that made it difficult to breathe deeply, my body was extremely achy and lethargic, and I had developed wheezing and what felt like bronchitis. From the moment I walked in, the team at AFC took my symptoms seriously and addressed every concern with care and urgency. Because my blood pressure was elevated, they even performed an EKG to rule out any heart issues. They also ordered a chest X-ray to make sure I didn't have pneumonia since my lungs sounded concerning and I was wheezing. They treated me immediately with a steroid shot in the office and sent me home with a comprehensive treatment plan that included a steroid pack, a Z-Pak antibiotic, an inhaler, and prescription cough syrup to help with the severe coughing and difficulty sleeping. What stood out most was how every single person I interacted with -- from the front desk staff to the nurse practitioner -- treated me with genuine compassion and professionalism. They listened, thoroughly assessed my condition, and made me feel truly cared for. I left feeling confident that my concerns had been taken seriously and that I was on the right path to recovery. Thanks to their prompt and thoughtful care, I'm now improving and finally on the mend. I've been to this AFC location several times over the years and have always had great experiences. I recently moved and tried a closer urgent care clinic, but after that experience I will gladly drive the extra 10 minutes to come back here. The level of care and attentiveness from this team is absolutely worth it. Thank you to the entire staff at AFC Urgent Care for the incredible work you do and for helping me feel better. Your dedication truly makes a difference.

The front desk was very friendly. Once in the back the nurse and doctor were very nice and personable. The doctor was very informative and answered all my questions. She listened and gave the necessary feedback. There was quite a bit of wait in between getting things done (bloodwork, seeing the doctor). That was my only negative experience, the place didn't seem busy but who knows what other patients they had in other rooms. Was there over an hour, luckily I was in no hurry.

At the time, I was experiencing symptoms that felt like an upper respiratory illness -- congestion in my nose and sinuses, throat irritation, dry coughing, and swollen lymph nodes. I went to urgent care hoping to get treatment that might help prevent the illness from getting worse. The staff were friendly and professional throughout the visit, and I do appreciate that they took the time to test me for both the flu and strep throat. Thankfully, both tests came back negative. After the evaluation, I was diagnosed with an acute upper respiratory infection and was prescribed Flonase and advised to use over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol and Ibuprofen along with fluids and rest. However, I left the visit feeling somewhat disappointed. I had come to urgent care specifically because my symptoms were not improving, and I was hoping for treatment that might help stop the illness from progressing. When I asked about stronger medication such as antibiotics, I was told the illness appeared to be viral and that antibiotics were not necessary. While I understand the reasoning behind taking a conservative approach, in my case my condition unfortunately worsened significantly over the next few days. The congestion moved into my chest, and I developed severe coughing fits and breathing discomfort. When I later visited a different urgent care clinic, they treated me with medications including steroids, antibiotics, an inhaler, and cough medicine -- which finally helped me start improving. Because of that experience, I can't help but wonder if a more proactive treatment approach earlier might have helped prevent my illness from getting worse. Again, the staff at this location were courteous and professional, and I do appreciate the testing and initial assessment. However, since my symptoms progressed significantly after this visit, I unfortunately don't feel confident returning to this clinic for future care. My hope in sharing this feedback is simply that providers take into consideration that every patient's body and immune system responds differently, and sometimes people seek urgent care because they need something beyond standard over-the-counter recommendations.

At no point was I informed about the necessity, cost, or purpose of these tests, nor was I asked for consent before they were performed. This lack of transparency is concerning and, in my opinion, unacceptable in a healthcare setting where patients should be fully informed about their care and any associated costs. When I followed up to address the issue, I did not receive a satisfactory explanation or resolution. Patients should not have to deal with unexpected charges for services they did not agree to. I recommend that anyone visiting this office ask detailed questions and confirm all procedures and costs in advance to avoid similar issues.

I got a notice the next morning that they needed to talk to me about my appointment request. They called me while I was in a meeting, though it only rang 2-3 times with no voicemail left to indicate what additional information was needed. I attempted to call them back twice to discuss the issue and no one answered and there was no voicemail box for me to leave a message so they cancelled my appointment. It's incredibly frustrating and disappointing to make an appointment for an issue and the office not answer multiple call attempts to resolve an issue that is unclear in the first place.
