We visited for my younger one, and luckily there was a pediatrician on duty. She was incredibly patient, took the time to listen to us, understood the severity of the situation, and focused on easing his pain rather than rushing through the visit. I had prepared my son in advance by explaining what to expect in a fun, lighthearted way, and the doctor matched that energy perfectly. She played with him, kept him calm, and gently took care of the issue. He didn't cry at all and came back home happy and relaxed which says everything as a parent. Tip for parents: definitely check in online, especially when visiting with kids. Waiting can be hard for them, particularly when they want to walk around or play. Our total wait time was about 50 minutes since it was a walk-in, but the care we received made it worth it. Overall, a comforting and well-managed urgent care experience, especially for families with young children.

My 3 month old son saw Dr Anastasi for green mucous diapers with blood, she was great and told us to keep in touch with any updates or worsening symptoms. On the week of thanksgiving, my sons symptoms worsened. I left her a message in the portal and when I didn't hear back I called in twice and spoke with a nurse. They told me Dr Anastasi was out of town for the week and the earliest they could get me in to see any doc was the following week. I did not feel he was sick enough to go to the ER but I didn't want to wait another week for him to be seen. I took him to another clinic and they had him get an abdominal ultrasound which showed something more serious was going on. In the midst of my stress and worry, I received a call from Shannon at IHA very rudely explaining that my son is not allowed to see another primary care doctor and that Dr Anastasi was being bothered on her holiday with calls regarding the ultrasound results! When I explained the situation to her she lacked any empathy or understanding at all. She called me back after speaking with the office manager telling me my son could no longer be seen as there was a 'breakdown in communication' Where was the breakdown? I called and messaged many times, how is it my sons fault that his doc was out for the week? As a mother should I have ignored his worsening symptoms just so IHA could have all my business? I would not recommend this greedy clinic to any mother, please take your child to U of M pediatrics or Beaumont if you can.

As if I wasn't stressed enough! 1/14/2019 - I called the office to request a pediatric ortho referral for my daughter. I gave the receptionist the information that she requested and she said that she would request the referral. 1/17/2019- I called the office for a follow-up. The referral had not been submitted. The receptionist gives me 2 numbers to call (they did not do that initially) for make an ortho appointment for my daughter. 1/18/2019- I call back with the appointment info and the receptionist says that the referral will be completed "that day". 1/23/2019-Day of the ortho appointment. Arrived at the ortho appointment and the receptionist informs me that they have not received the referral and my daughter cannot be seen until they receive it. Called Dr. Malik's office and the receptionist tells me that the ortho office "can pull the referral from the TRICARE" site. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS? I told her to fax the referral to the ortho office and that I wanted to speak to an office manager, as my experience trying to get this referral has been COMPLETE HELL. She tells me that the office manager is not available and takes a message. It's been almost 2 weeks since I've left that message and I have yet to be contacted. Do I have your attention now?
