This location is CLOSED. There is an urgent care next to H‑E‑B called St. David's. Great staff.

My ultrasound-guided IV infiltrated, causing unnecessary pain and frustration. Rather than acknowledging what had happened or showing empathy, I felt dismissed throughout my visit. After the IV failed, another senior nurse repeatedly pressured me to undergo another ultrasound-guided IV placement. I respectfully declined, but I was asked again and again despite my answer. By the fourth time I said no, the nurse responded with noticeable attitude before leaving the room. As a patient, I felt that my decision was not being respected and I was being marginalized. I understand that emergency departments are busy and stressful, but kindness, professionalism, and respect for a patient's choices should never be optional. Patients come to the ER feeling scared, vulnerable, and in need of compassionate care. Unfortunately, that was not the experience I had. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in communication, patient care, and respect for patient autonomy so others receive the compassion and dignity every patient deserves.

The online booking, check in, and registration was so smooth and took less than 3 mins!! I got in so quickly which I was grateful for given I was in so much pain. I was in queue prior to arriving, knew my place, and the time I would be seen. You can even provide your location and the system calls to let you know it's now time to leave. AND they even followed up with a phone call to let me know it was time to leave, if I hadn't. The woman who checked took my co-pay was great and had everything ready before I even walked in the door. The tech who did triage and took my blood pressure etc. was also skilled, experienced, and was so attentive & reassuring. She was also patient when I had to call my sister (also a DR.) about a few history type items. I got the most amazing thorough care from my NP, Chioma Okechukwu. She was direct, knowledgeable, and was able to provide a correct diagnosis from what I thought coming in. It was late at night so she rushed in a script so I was able to collect it before CVS closed and so I could get the first restful night sleep without pain that I have had in a very long time. I am so grateful for CareNow Urgent Care. This was a better experience than I have ever had at the ER and much much much LESS $!! Better healthcare at a lower cost, didn't think that was possible anymore. The follow up care instructions were very clear and even highlighted by the NP in the key parts. They sent a text to follow up the next day and forwarded all the details of my visit to my primary care. SO SMOOTH!!!!

The facility was clean, stocked with complimentary drinks, snack items and was bright and airy. Everyone was friendly and we were in and out in record time. The wait was short, which was nice, but the nurse I had did not appear confident or competent in his role. My main problem was that he issued a phenegran shot, which I have had multiple times, and it burned for a solid 10 minutes after administration. It also left a significant bruise, and is still sore more than a week later. He also didn't remove part of the bandage packaging, which isn't a huge issue in itself but it just shows that he really didn't appear to know what he was doing. My other complaint is that the doctor told me not to take anti diarrhea medication, because whatever virus or bacteria was in my system needed to be expelled. However she ended up writing a prescription for an anti diarrhea medicine, which was contradictory to our conversation. When I asked the nurse about it, he did not have a solid answer, even after going to check with the doctor. Additionally, she wrote the prescription on paper while she sent the other medicines electronically, but didn't notify me that one would be separate and on paper. So when I sent my husband to get my medications at the pharmacy, he only came back with 2 of the 3 and I later found the third buried in the mountain of paper work they give you upon release. Ultimately I was examined and left with a more solid idea of what was ailing me and how to battle it, but the overall communication and care could definitely be improved.
