It's a shame that this place has only 3 stars. Often places that offer a service get judged harshly…read moreon reviews. I have used this place occasionally to get a Covid test over the last couple years. My review will be primarily on Covid testing there since that's all I've done If you are planning on coming here for a Covid test READ the website! More than once have I overheard an unhappy person finding out that they have to pay $150 for their test at the counter. If their website wasn't clear before, there are now at least three different places throughout the process of making an appointment online that indicate whether or not your test will be covered. I've shown up both with and without an appointment. If you don't have an appointment, wait time kind of depends on time of day and time of year(around the holidays is busier). Each time I've visited I felt the visit went smooth and my visit was as pleasant as getting swabbed could be.

I called them to ask about this since this seems wildly high and did not get anywhere. I asked if they offered cash pricing instead of insurance and was told yes you have the right to choose to do that. However, they refused to tell me anything about that pricing at all. I get that this visit was already set through insurance, but I should have a right to that information going forward. Definitely feel like I got screwed. Just use telehealth if you can.

I visited this urgent care over the weekend in hopes of receiving treatment for a persistent cough…read more I explained to the provider that I have a history of asthma and that, in my experience, I often require additional treatment to manage a lingering cough following a cold. The medical assistant who took my vitals was very kind and professional. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience with the PA who evaluated me. Throughout the visit, I felt that my concerns were dismissed and that I was not being listened to. The PA ultimately prescribed an antibiotic, which I questioned because I was unsure why that particular medication was being recommended given my symptoms and medical history. His explanation was brief, and I continued to feel dismissed when I attempted to provide additional information about my symptoms. For example, I mentioned that my cough was producing an unusual, unpleasant taste in my mouth, which is not typical for me. His response was, "Well, yeah, it's mucus. It's not going to taste good." I found this response unnecessarily dismissive, especially when I was simply trying to explain a symptom that was concerning to me. Overall, I left feeling incredibly frustrated and unheard. I understand that providers may have different clinical recommendations, and I am not opposed to receiving treatment that differs from what I initially expected. However, I do expect my concerns to be taken seriously and for the reasoning behind treatment decisions to be explained respectfully. Unfortunately, I regret choosing this urgent care and now feel the need to seek a second evaluation elsewhere. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no patient should leave a medical appointment feeling that their concerns were brushed aside.

Although my injury was not life-threatening, the pain was excruciating. I waited six hours before receiving pain medication. I understand and fully support treating the most serious cases first. What troubled me was the lack of compassion I experienced while waiting. I felt little acknowledgment of my pain or reassurance that help was coming. The staff may have been overworked, but patients still need to feel that their suffering matters. As the hours passed by in the waiting room, my pain increased markedly. I pleaded for pain relief--even just Tylenol. A nurse responded, "Can't you see this is an emergency room?! People are sick and nearly dying here!" Obviously I had not seen anyone that night who appeared very sick, much less nearly dying. They would have arrived by ambulance and were not visible to me. When I asked sheepishly about that, she barked, "I can't reveal anything about other patients!" Her tone was shaming, dismissive. and cruel. I understood and supported that others needed priority. I was asking for relief from unbearable pain which, by law, all patients are entitled to. Once treatment began later, the medication helped enormously, and the team realigned the dislocated bone. I appreciated the physical medical treatment. But I did not appreciate the public shaming and the general coldness from the entire staff. I will never go to that hospital again. Feeling cared for is a significant part of healing. An emergency room may not be able to eliminate the wait, but patients still deserve compassion, communication, and attention to their pain. That part of my experience at Newton-Wellesley fell far short.

I was trying to get COVID tested today and here's what I've learned:…read more - Testings for people without symptoms are done in the afternoon only at this location and you have to paid out of pocket ($160). They will only take you in in the morning if you are experiencing symptoms. - You cannot make an appointment ahead of time, they only take walk-ins. It is first come first serve. - They can only fit in around 12 people before lunch. I was told that lines start forming as early as 2 hours before they open in the morning, around 6am. You will be waiting at the parking lot in open air so bring some essentials to make your experience less brutal. - If you are one of the first ones there then they'll let you register online and call you when they are ready for you. This is just what their protocols are as of today and things would certainly change. Just wanted to put this information out in hope to save someone's time and frustration. I've been to this location several times prior (before COVID). Five stars are for the majority of staffs who have been wonderful! And even if some of them appeared on edge please be kind, after all they must be under a lot of pressure not to mention risking their own health to help others.

I've been to this location in the past and they have offered competent and compassionate care…read more Today, however, I was in need of care for an eye infection on a Sunday during a holiday weekend. I arrived at 9:00 am, happy to see the clear signage on the doors that it's open 7 Days a week 8am - 8pm, as I yanked on the door handle. It didn't budge. So I called the clinic's number where a chipper message announced that they open at 9:00 am on the weekends. I thought maybe they were a bit late in opening so I decided to try and reserve my place on-line. That didn't work either, that service was not available at this location. Finally, I looked at the website carefully and saw that this location was closed on Sundays and Mondays until the end of the month. Ug! Yes, I should have read the website more carefully. But when you're sick and grumpy it's hard to read confusing websites. The phone message could have warned me, the website could have been clearer. Why couldn't someone put a couple of signs on the windows?
