I was able to get a flu shot today without an appointment using my Kaiser health insurance. It went pretty quick about 30 min.

Quick appointment but nurse practitioner could care less about you. Super condescending. Continued procedure when I asked to stop.

He is in good spirits and has no other life-threatening symptoms. Since I am not sure it is stomach flu or something else, as I am not a trained pediatrician, I wanted to bring him to urgent care. Tonight (11/11/2024) at 6:55 pm I called Scripps Rancho Bernardo to confirm they are open on Veterans Day. After the reception asked me the reason for my call, she said "we are going to close at 8" and transferred me to nurse Katie. After the nurse asked for the reason for this call, she said " we are going to close at 8 then leave, and not keep any patient". I asked why can't your clinic see my son, since it is obvious his condition is not critical and does not require ER. She replied "yes if you live near by, you can try, and seeing one of our provider. But since we are close at 8 and leave, and the provider may tell you to go to er. maybe you can just go." I asked her again and she responded again that they close at 8. All they care about is getting off work on time. Such unprofessional behavior! The ER is packed at all times, and I wonder how many parents and children there ha the same experienced? Scripps is such a large medical institution, and yet their response is so lacking. How can they provide decent healthcare this way? I am deeply disappointed. They kept pushing the patient away. As a former medical professional I am very dissatisfied with this nurse's attitude. How can they expect any respect or goodwill from patients? Please remember: as a parent in need, do not call one hour before they leave for work, because they care more about clocking out in time, than the needs of your ill child.

When we came in were told the dr wasn't taking any more patients even though they were open for 30 more minutes? Had to drive another 30 mins and wait for 2 hours at another urgent care. I will say one thing: if you have to be a patient, Sharp Rees Stealy Urgent Care in Rancho Bernardo provides absolutely outstanding care. I was having an irregular heart rhythm with palpitations, shortness of breath and dizziness. I was able to document an arrhythmia several times on my Apple Watch, send it to my computer and print it out to bring to urgent care. The sign in process was quick. The front office staff were friendly and courteous. A Registered Nurse (RN) promptly brought me back to the treatment area. She obtained a very thorough history, checked my vital signs and did an EKG. She was efficient, but very reassuring and personable. Thank you Nancy. The physician was in to see and examine me very quickly. Dr. Lovell was professional, thorough and kind. I didn't want to waste their time and, as a nurse practitioner, was a bit embarrassed to be there! The physician and RN put me at ease, reviewed the records I provided them, and completed a thorough work up. Labs, repeat EKG (which caught the rhythm irregularities) and, Dr Lovell spoke to the cardiologist on call to review my case. Both Dr. Lovell and the RN, Nancy, checked on me in the exam room frequently during my stay at the Urgent Care. Now tell me: Haven't you heard enough? I am a 71 year old nurse practitioner with over 40 years of experience in healthcare. I highly recommend Sharp Rees Stealy for not only Urgent Care but for all of your Healthcare needs. They really care about you as a person.

I explained that those vitals have been my baseline and could easily be compared to my previous visits, but she insisted she could not evaluate me further. No testing, no assessment, nothing helpful -- just hours wasted. I'm definitely disputing this visit.

((Brutal, man)) Having…read moredealt with chronic pain in my back, I sadly knew that it's often better to show up in urgent care with a string of pearls on than with sweatpants and blue hair. So I kept the pearls on and left the sweats at home. I wrote a little list on symptoms so I wouldn't forget anything to tell the doctor. I put off coming here for several hours because I was sure my symptoms would subside. I finally drove out an hour before closing and was shocked to find no one in the waiting room. The women up front were pleasant and they let me crash their conversation. I gave them my insurance information then kept my fingers crossed my a short wait and relief from my terrible symptoms. Plantar fasciitis feels like you are walking in broken glass!!! & I had tried every alternative treatment before coming in here today. I have met with a nurse, who wrote down my symptoms. I find it a bit odd that there are no doctors around but I am hoping for a short wait time. Have been waiting in the back for 20 mins now. Surprised because I could hear the doctor meet with one patient and now everything is incredibly quiet- like creepy quiet. I'm realizing now that the posted hours just probably mean that's when they take their last patient. Next time maybe I will come 10 mins before closing, instead of an hour before. I got Dr. Well or Wells, which I wasn't super happy about it bc this guy was a jerk who does super awkward things with his eyes (dude, those are my boobs, not my eyes- are you nervous?? Is this a tic?? Whats up??). He is someone who previously sent a nurse to tell me "the dr says he will see you if you want but to tell you we don't 'prescribe those types of meds' in case that's what you are looking for". When this guy saw me he had a funny reaction, like he wanted to run away bc I knew he remembered me as the patient who had told him off. Anyway, we were stuck with each other so -much like a tornado or a shipwreck- we made the most of it. I knew from the start this doctor is very much by the book, when it comes to pain meds other than Tylenol. He gave me the courtesy of an actual doctor's visit and it always helps to write down any symptoms you have prior to seeing the doctor. I ended up waiting another 20 mins for multiple xrays (they were clear- which is great). Doctor told me my plantar fasciitis probably never fully went away so he had the nurse put me in a (FREE!) brace to stabilize my foot. I wish they would give you crutches too bc I still couldn't pressure on half my foot. Overall: good experience despite not being able to get temporary pain relief between now and when I see my next doctor. The so-called opioid epidemic is affecting the +++wrong people+++!!!
