A few weeks later, I was shocked to receive a bill for $178. I called again to ask about the charge. The receptionist explained the details of my insurance and said they could not know the exact amount until they processed it. So what was the representative telling me before? The receptionist kept repeating the 80 to 20 payment breakdown, which I already understood the first time she said it. She even accused me of cutting her off, when in reality, she was not getting my point. I understood the cost sharing. My issue is that someone gave me the wrong information, which led me to choose this urgent care. If that representative had told me they could not provide an estimate until verifying my full insurance coverage, instead of throwing out a really low number, I would not have been surprised by the bill. After the reception asked me the reason for my call, she said "we are going to close at 8" and transferred me to nurse Katie. After the nurse asked for the reason for this call, she said " we are going to close at 8 then leave, and not keep any patient". I asked why can't your clinic see my son, since it is obvious his condition is not critical and does not require ER. She replied "yes if you live near by, you can try, and seeing one of our provider. But since we are close at 8 and leave, and the provider may tell you to go to er. maybe you can just go." I asked her again and she responded again that they close at 8. All they care about is getting off work on time. Such unprofessional behavior! The ER is packed at all times, and I wonder how many parents and children there ha the same experienced? Scripps is such a large medical institution, and yet their response is so lacking. How can they provide decent healthcare this way? I am deeply disappointed. They kept pushing the patient away. As a former medical professional I am very dissatisfied with this nurse's attitude. How can they expect any respect or goodwill from patients? Please remember: as a parent in need, do not call one hour before they leave for work, because they care more about clocking out in time, than the needs of your ill child.

He examined me and found out that I had non-infectous sore throat and prescribed some cough syrup that worked wonders and the soreness went away fast.

You have to wait because the staff does not call on the next person for a while. Then it takes more time to get checked in. The front desk workers become rude to you when you show you're frustrated. At the last doctors visit, our doctor said he would be back with the paperwork. Twenty minutes later, I said to my husband we need to leave. I peeked out the room looking for the doctor. We found him talking to someone who wasn't in medical attire and was talking about vacation somewhere. I was so mad, we left without the paperwork. We pay monthly medical premiums and this is the kind of medical we receive. This doctor was suppose to send in a high blood pressure medication for my husband. Today is 19th of April. No medication called in from the doctor's office. I called the doctors office and inquired about it and the person on the phone says, "we will send it to your provider", that's it. The referrals was never called in. It just like you have to ask for everything. There's more. I have never had such hard time managing my healthcare. This is delayed healthcare. No stars.

That being said, the staff was friendly but it was clear that as the day approaches 8pm (closing time) the lights start to dim and they're eager to get home. Can't say I blame them.
