The MinuteClinic won't let you make an appointment for some things, and only accept walk ins. But then the appointment people come in and you wait. Not really great if you literally can't make an appointment and have been waiting your turn and keep watching people walk in over and over and you keep getting skipped. Unfortunately this is the system we have and making an appointment with a doctor is booking weeks out. So spending a day at CVS is the only option sometimes. read more

It's unfortunate that this clinic is part of our CVS - local store that many in the community use. The staff is always short with people or the nurse/medical professional doesn't want to be bothered. I thought it was an isolated incident but the staff was just as curt a second time. What happened to customer/patient service? I DO NOT recommend coming here for anything if you actually need help. I have a really severe sore throat, looks and feels just like strep which I've had many times. Went to the minute clinic to get tested because I was told it's a cheaper option and I don't have insurance. Didn't have to wait long at all as a walk in so that was nice and the doctor was nice as well. Until she took a look at my throat and out loud said "OH GOD" and backed up from me. Which was very very concerning to hear from a doctor. The first swab test was invalid so she had to do it again which sucks, and the second test was negative. I asked her what else it could possibly be since my only symptom at the time was how swollen and infected my throat was. I could barely talk and couldn't easily eat. I told her I had taken acetaminophen and that wasn't doing anything for my pain either. She said I just had a bad cold and should go home and take ibuprofen. And that obviously didn't make sense to me so I asked if she was sure it couldn't be anything else more serious and she said there's nothing else she could think of and it's definitely just a rough cold. My visit ended up costing $220 just to be told that. No medication nothing to help with any issue I was explaining except her suggestion to use numbing spray so I could eat again. Didn't work by the way. So obviously I was very upset. Over the next two days it got so much worse to the point I couldn't talk at all, I couldn't eat, I refused to swallow anything because the pain was so unbearable I was spitting into a cup over sallowing any saliva. After two days only having eaten one bowl of soup and not even being able to keep water down without throwing up I decided to go to a different urgent care where I got a positive test result for Mono. A lot cheaper of a visit too, and I got the medication I needed to make my throat swelling and nausea go away. Never going to minute clinic again. I should've gone straight to MD today urgent care, would've saved me a lot of pain and A LOT of money read more

Terrible. Waited over an hour for walk in with confirmation code and she didn't even have me in the system. Very unorganized, everyone waiting for hours. Horrible experience at this the Minute Clinic this morning. Came in at 9:30 am with my son who had pain in the chest while coughing, fully vaccinated and negative for Covid. Two doors of the clinic were open and no patients but both "health workers " didn't want to see my son because they said patients with appointments are coming in. We waited to see if someone really came and no one did, the health worker talked casually with another woman and couldn't care less about us. I wanted to share my experience I had today. It was a horrible experience. I was there for a recheck on blood pressure. I saw Ingrid Broman, NP 3 weeks ago. I gladly paid my 139.00. SHE IS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE. VERY KIND AND CARING. TODAY I thought I see this wonderful woman again.... NO! I get a no smiling, condescending, and rude Mitra Nahreini, NP. She charged me another 139.00 for a full exam... not a 59-69 bucks for a follow up. I was just seen 3 weeks ago. I was there to recheck blood pressure.... focused follow up. She kept checking my BP while telling me to take deep breaths. She stressed me out and irritated me so badly. No wonder my BP was up. I showed her my BP that I've been measuring at home every AM for the past 3 weeks. I don't know how to differentiate who your NP will be when you make an appointment. But I'd steer clear from Mrs Nahreini if you're looking for kindness or compassion. I was more stressed out when I left there and actually called my husband crying! Its a dang pandemic, show some compassion for someone who's been in the medical field for almost 30 years. I would never being rude to a patient... never! Maybe it's just her personality but I'd steer clear... if you want to keep your sanity! I hope this helps other patients when they are in a pinch and need to see someone. I got my TB test and reading done, and it was pretty fast for both appointments. Nurse practitioner Mitra Nahreini was pretty proficient in what she does and everything went smoothly both times. In the first visit, there was an intern, I think, who administered the injection, which was painless--barely felt anything. The reason why I give this place a 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the second visit. I had an appointment made for a TB follow-up which is time-sensitive. By the time I arrived at my appointment, there was already a huge line and everybody was delayed by hours. Even one guy got impatient and cut in front of me when another clinician called my name after I waited for an 1.5 hours after my scheduled appointment. I don't know why this happened, and there were a lot of unhappy patients that day. I was lucky to be able to self-reschedule mine for the next morning, which took less than 10 minutes to check my TB reading for my new job, which starts in a few days. Yay! read more

I just had a very frustrating call with the CVS Minute Clinic customer service. I created a CVS My Chart for myself in preparation for Covid-19 testing. The one for my wife didn't work. The customer service person told me that what I'm trying to do can't be done. The system recognized my wife, but wouldn't let me access her account. The person told me the account didn't exist. Catch-22. She found me, but couldn't reset or remove my wife's account. Very obstinate. Told me that I couldn't have spoken to customer service when I originally setup the accounts, basically calling me a liar. The customer service person I spoke with lat week was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. This one was horrible. She denied everything I said or asked. I guess who you hire is really important. read more

I went to the clinic today instead of the one in Escondido because the website said there was no wait and they closed a little later for lunch at 1:00 - 2:00 . I got there at 12:45 and filled out all the information requested. The medical person came out at 12:54 (no one else waiting) and said she was going to lunch. I said "You're closing early?" She said, I'm not closing early I'm going to lunch. I told her it wasn't 1 o'clock yet. She said I'm going to lunch. I said the clinic will be closed right - early. She said I'm going to lunch. My visit was for first aid and she might have been through taking care of me by 1:00, the posted break time. Not going back! read more

I went to this Minute Clinic with what was later determined to be an Upper Respiratory Infection. It was a holiday so my doctor's office was closed and the other Urgent Care near me had a 2 hour wait. I waited about 30 minutes to see a doctor, and what appeared to be a medical student. After she checked my vitals and looked in my ears, throat, and nose she told me I had a cold and instructed me to try nasal spray and Sudafed. I get regular sinus infections and I DO NOT better without some form of antibiotic. I told the doctor I didn't confidence in her diagnosis and would probably have to drive myself to another clinic that day to see someone else. I wasn't feeling well at all and later that day had to drive myself to the Urgent Care with the 2 hour wait, where I was given antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection and instructed to take a more intense nasal spray. 10 days later I am still coughing and getting over this illness. I am confident that I will NEVER go back to this clinic again. It was a waste of time, a waste of money, and the doctor didn't listen to what I was telling her. I was so lethargic I could barely drive myself home, yet I had a "cold." Avoid if you can. read more

I've been to several MinuteClinics and Take Care (Walgreens) Clinics. I've been to urgents cares, emergency rooms, and a variety of doctors offices. Over the course of my experiences I have never witnessed such unprofessional and rude behavior as I did when I came into this MinuteClinic. The nurse practitioner was harsh toned, rude, judgmental, and argumentative. I'm there for a sinus infection, what's there to be all crazy about?! After she interrogated me about my medical history and lectured me about various topics not pertinent to my visit, I finally had to draw the line and I told her to stop and to address the reason I came there. This only encourage her push more to be belligerent and stubborn. I almost walked right out. The sole reason I stayed was because of how miserable I felt, I just wanted to feel better.....even if it meant dealing with an unprofessional nurse who had the bedside manner of a dictator losing popularity. Guess what, Nurse Ratched, you are not going to help people by belittling them and intimidating them into agreeing with you. Maybe it's time to find a new career, if the being a nurse requires more compassion and social intelligence than you are capable of possessing. read more

I went to this clinic in November. I have a fund through my husband's work to cover the first half of my deductible, but they insisted I pay since the deductible wasn't met yet. I reluctantly paid what was owed, even though I've never had to pay before because the fund covered it (there was still plenty of money left in the fund, BTW). Then, THEY NEVER SENT THE CLAIM TO MY INSURANCE, so I've been waiting almost two months for a refund. After 6 or 7 calls, they're finally sending me a check. They had promised to send one out two calls ago, but didn't. I will not go back to this clinic. How incompetent to you have to be to not send a claim to someone's insurance? read more

Worst service ever! We had a form to get my son a sports physical and order CBC at a lab so he can go into rehab. They refused and told us where to go because a PA couldn't do it. On the form for detox center it states it can be done by PA, NP or Dr. My son wants desperately to get help and not die. She told us where to go but nobody is helping him. They turn you away the moment they heard it was for detox center. So sad people talk about overdose pandemic yet turn you away?? So sad!! The form said she could do it too!! read more

Took my wife tonight. She was extremely impressed with the thoroughness of her exam by NP Mitra Nahreini. The wait time was only ten minutes at 6:45pm. We were thrilled the Minute Clinic stayed open until 7:30, because all other nearby clinics were closed. Her medical evaluation was what we suspected and we appreciated her recommendations. Expensive and unhelpful. The nurse-practitioner was friendly and took us quickly (for a $90 fee), but couldn't communicate well in English and seemed largely to ignore my wife's description of symptoms. Her prescribed treatment did nothing to help. She sped through a list of standard checkup stuff (blood pressure, listening to chest sounds, ear and throat check, then declared the reason for a persistent hacking cough was "postnasal drip," without being able to explain how she reached that diagnosis. She prescribed an ineffective and costly prescription cough suppressant (which she suggested filling at her CVS branch), along with antihistamines and saline nose drops. After three days, these have had no effect. The nurse said she'd call two days after our visit to see how things were going, but didn't. After three days, my wife tried to call her, hoping for improved medical advice -- and was informed that she could only speak to the nurse again by returning and paying a second $90 fee. This service might be useful if you have an urgent, easily treated problem, but for anything requiring good judgment and communications skills, it might be better to look elsewhere. Racking up fees seems their key priority, with your health a poor second. read more

Very poorly managed and inefficient. Very long wait to see the nurse and I was there when it opened! Spent much more time on computer/paperwork than on 5 minute exam. It seems the nurse practitioner was not experienced and it took her SO long to review information and input into computer. Also an insurance issue which meant I had to call customer service and resolve it on my own. Never again! read more
