My negative review here is quite simple and the facts can be checked at the Calgary Courthouse records section. I hired Brad Minuk to handle my divorce in August of 2016. At the time I needed someone to sign a power if attorney for me and Brad's office happened to be in the same building where one of my close friends had his at the time. That's how I came to hire Brad Minuk to handle my impending divorce. I inquired as to the cost as I didn't have much money at the time and was told that it would cost $1,000 all-in but I would have to do the filing work myself. I was also told that if I wanted Brad to do the filing up to and including the final divorce it would cost $1,500 all-in. I decided I could afford that and it would be worth it. Quite a few months went by, a portion of which time was my responsibility in getting certain documents to Brad and his associate. Brad used an agreement I had already worked out with my ex-wife to work out another more comprehensive settlement. I received some billing during this period but certainly not to the amount of $1,500 which I had given him in advance as requested. When the final agreement had been drafted I met with Brad again and was told that all the funds he'd had from me were used up and if I wanted the divorce to be filed and completed it would cost me another $1,000. He gave me all sorts of excuses, none of them satisfactory. As a result I then did the ENTIRE filing process on my own (without any assistance from Brad or his associates) and received my final decree in early March of 2019.
