I ordered some garlic bread followed by lasagna. The bread was very good and when the lasagna came I was anticipating a good meal. It was great! This was a great evening. The owner stopped by the table often and the waitress was very helpful too. Did I say this was a great meal! We dined in Mar 2017.

HOWEVER The food comes from The Thirsty Whale Bar & Restaurant next door, so although there were only a couple of other people here it made the wait for food 1hr+ so there really is no point eating here! When the food arrived it was nice but REALLY too long a wait! Shame!

From the 10 tables outside, only 3 were taken but we were told they are all reserved. We have been told straight away they do not take orders anymore and that it is actually closed (that is more than one hour before the time on the board at the entrance). Not worth it the detour. We traveled from Taupo specifically to have lunch there - what a waste of time. But the drive is a very nice drive, and weather was superb.
