I was so happy when I heard this store had just opened because this was my first time ever shopping at Miniso. I visited on Saturday 8/16/25.
Unfortunately, as soon as I walked in, I wasn't greeted or felt welcomed in the store. Kara (the manager with blue/green hair) was distracted as she was gossiping with another coworker. When I approached the counter for check out, she was STILL gossiping about other coworkers, as if I wasn't standing right in front of her. I was genuinely shocked by her unprofessionalism. She took her sweet time ringing my stuff up one by one still carrying on her conversation with her coworker, she took forever and never once acknowledged me. I felt like I was intruding on her time. It was so awful that I almost inturrupted her story time and left without making a purchase but I bit my tongue.
After I made my purchase, she briefly explained the birthday blind box promotion and stated that I can only redeem my coupon the DAY of my birthday. I explained to her that my birthday had just passed, it was August 5th. I asked her if there's anyway she'd be able to accommodate it for me. She bluntly said no and told me there's always next year. I was taken back by her response. She was incredibly rude, her dismissive attitude 1000% sucked and she ruined my entire experience at Miniso. Being rude is easy. Choose to be kind rather than being "right."
After doing some research on Google, I found out that you're able to redeem your birthday blind box coupon within your birthday MONTH - not just your DAY! I went back to the store on Monday, 8/18, I was dreading having to see Kara again and her not letting me use my coupon just out of spite. Thankfully, I was greeted by the sweetest employee - I didn't get her name. She scanned my coupon and I was able to walk out with my free blind box for my birthday! :D I explained to her that Kara wouldn't honor my coupon and advised her to let Kara know that she shouldn't be giving misleading information out to customers, especially if she doesn't understand Miniso's guidelines/promotions.
So, a huge thank you to that employee for making my birthday extra special. I really wish I would've gotten her name!
Reading previous reviews, it's no surprise that this isn't the first complaint about Kara. I really hope her supervisor reads this and addresses Kara's reprehensible behavior. She is no fit to be a Miniso employee, or a manager at that. She gives off mean girl vibes and is mean-spirited. With this being a new store, she will quickly tarnish the name and will make it undesirable for all past and future customers who visit Miniso. read more
