People were already filing in to play games and it looked like they had a community of regular players filing in. As usual, I was just curious about their WarHammer collection and it was a decent amount. I liked their table set up for Warhammer ready with tape measures and landscape. They had Pokemon and MTG commander packs and boosters available as well, my only complaint is that there was no price tag on their boxes and when we asked them how much the commander box was, they were looking up prices on their phone for a few minutes before we got a response. It made me think that they were going above msrp and just seemed shady. Just make sure as a customer you have an idea of what you're willing to pay for product. I'm all for supporting standing stores versus online, but not on this visit.

She was very nice (5 stars for her) I went today and the guy there. White hair. Was a complete jerk. I ask if they had pokemon cards msrp. He says "I don't know. You gotta ask the owner" I look around. Another customer was buying comics. He opened up the bag. Skimmed through. Gave a rough price. Then shoved it back in the bag and dropped it on the desk. It made an audible plop noise. Charged the guy $15 for it. I come back. I see flyers for local conventions. I asked if they sold tickets. He goes "I don't know. Ask the owner" What do you mean ask the owner? You work here. If you don't know. Why don't you ask the owner and get back to me. Why is it my job to do your job? Terrible customer service. Rude. Not to mention disrespectful. I'd only consider coming back because the lady the first time was pleasant.

The owner Brian is a…read moregreat guy who knows his stuff and gave me a fair offer for my comic collection which I sold off this past spring. Bailey was also great to work with as he was the person I sold the most to. You must know you will not get full market value for your comics or collectibles but what they do offer is fair and didn't feel like a low ball offer at all. I have no complaints or reservations about the overall transactions. My comic collecting days are over but if you're a collector this is the gold standard for Sacramento area comic shops. Between their Wednesday live sales and what seems to be every other month or so 50% back issue sales there are great opportunities to build your collection at fair prices. Their toy/collectible section has really expanded in the past few years particularly at the Auburn location. I'll still pop in from time to time to check out the collectibles. Have found some great stuff in the past! All 3 locations are worth a visit. Staff has always been friendly and everything seems to be well stocked and organized. Give em' a visit if you haven't yet. Lots of treasures to be discovered.

Located at this historic Lawrence Warehouse (built way back in the 1910's) and directly on R St. and tucked in between 11th & 12th Sts, WAL which is an acronym of "Warehouse Artist Lofts" became the focal point as this indoor area accommodates and operates various businesses year-round. Here, you will find a broad collection of small independently owned businesses that include "Fish Face Poke Bar", "MediumRare Records & Collectibles", "Shop Old Gold" (clothing), "bsR brand" (designer clothing), "Kechmara Designs" (Moroccan rugs), "Roderick Cooney Photography", and "Warehouse Artist Lofts" which showcase creative artist spaces for people that wish to live and be a part of this community experience. Additionally, there are several other small businesses that offer food & drink options which makes it an excellent one-stop shop. I will say that public access is readily available as normal business hours run from 8am-9pm Monday through Saturday and 11am-9pm on Sunday. Parking is surprisingly not too bad as I've been fairly lucky in the 10+ various times visiting here. However, it does get quite busy during the morning and lunch rush so keep that in mind. I also wanted to add that there are public restrooms (which require a code) but any WAL employee will be happy to provide that code to you. All in all, "WAL Public Market" is a truly unique, innovative, and rewarding experience. Whether you wish to indulge in an espresso drink, a poke bowl, a vinyl record, a vintage shirt, this place offers things that you can't find elsewhere. Really fun to drink because of the crunchy texture from the coconut flakes. The Ube top was perfectly sweet and creamy to my liking. Can't wait to try the Pandan coconut coffee next time.

These types of niche shops are so much better when you know that the people you're dealing with are passionate about their products, and Five Star Bricks is top notch. I found this place as I was cleaning through our storage and decided to move on from mine and my brother's childhood LEGO collection. Between the two of us throughout our childhood we had four full 25 gallon totes of LEGO bricks and minifigures. I did my due diligence to clean through them before taking them in, but I dropped the totes off on a Wednesday and received a cash offer on Friday for them. They were efficient and helpful in allowing me to offload our loose bricks. We also talked extensively about the other items I had, including base plates, minifigures, and some completed sets that I had never taken apart. They provided me some good options for the minifigures, of which I had over 1,000 to move from sets ranging from 1992-2005, and they gave me fair offers on some of my built sets. I ended up selling my base plates and a couple completed sets to them as well as all the loose bricks and they were fantastic throughout the entire process. On top of this experience, they have a huge variety of built sets, and they're constantly getting new sets that range a ton of years. They also have a very diverse selection of minifigures from thousands of different sets, they have loose bricks for sale, and even a minifigure section where you can look for specific minifigure parts. One thing to note is that this is not the official LEGO store. If you come here looking for new sets, your selection will be fairly limited as they aren't bursting at the seams with sealed sets. Overall I couldn't recommend this place enough. Whether you're looking to sell LEGO collections, bulk or built, or are looking to add to your collection, this is an ideal place to check out!

Yo Pop Fun Shop is on the backside of the tan color building maps will route you to. There's parking back there too. It feels kind of like finding a brewery, and that might prevent break ins I suppose. I couldn't even tell there were windows until we were inside. This is where my cousin wanted to go to do one of our favorite hobbies together (window shopping and impulse buying, ok I guess in his case Seriously Collecting Funko Pop figures) on his birthday shopping trip this year. I had never heard of it, so I figured, why not? I am so glad we checked it out because they had so many different Funkos I wasn't used to seeing, particularly in the recent movies, cult classics, Disney, and anime categories. For instance, I had no idea there were Fruits Basket ones. Mind you, I am an unserious collector. Even though I told myself No Pops after I finally found my holy grail (Crowley + Aziraphale) at The Cave in July, I could not resist buying my kitty's namesake. Each of the main three have their tiny animal selves in addition to human form. The person working the counter that day was awesome, and she talked to us about the collection, prices, and anime. It was such a fun shopping experience. She helps her boss manage the store, which is his personal collection. Imagine having so many of these you can open a small store like this? Wow. The AC was bumping thankfully because it was a hot September day. Yo Pop is also clean and well-organized; that is all her doing, she said. I appreciated her so much but forget her name already. I'm sorry! Turns out there was a buy 3 get a 4th (under ? $15 I think) free, so I walked out with Kyo, Andy from Alien: Romulus (did not know there were even Alienverse Pops before this place!), my cousin's Christmas present, and one additional Power Ranger for him. We had a hard time walking away from sparkling Edward Cullen but neither of us could afford him. Prices are labeled (I cannot stand when they aren't visible), and reasonable. They had an entire wall of $7 figures. The highly collectable ones are expensive everywhere, and there are even apps now to find and compare prices. None of which I've bothered with. There's fun for me in the randomness of the hunt. This store is 95% FunkoPop, but there are some other collectables and toys in here too. I saw some cool retro action figures and loungefly backpacks. So yeah. I maybe have a FunkoProblem. And yeah, I take them out of the box (*GASP*...they look cuter on my bookshelves this way) unless they're the valuable ones. My ineffables and Kyo are def not coming out of the box. Leave me a compliment if you too have a FunkoProblem.
