I was on travel for work since Thanksgiving and did not have access to my mail until my return on December 23. Beside that point what took so long to notify me? You knew renovations were going to be made way in advance because of the time it takes to budget the money and enter into a contract but you choose to notify me with only 26 days to left? When I checked I my unit I found it RAT infested!!! Why didn't they notify me months before that? The time it took to remove sanitize and relocate that which was salvageable cost me more than the $250.00 that I am supposed to receive for the insurance that I paid for every month. Public Storage did not notify me until the last minute so that they can continue collecting the $400.00 plus that I pay monthly for rent. They are a disgrace, it's not about what is doing right for the customer but more about the money they can make while their customers were losing their property to destruction for every day that went by. The US Commerce Department should investigate them and SHUT THEM DOWN!

I was getting contacted when a payment was due but not to get notified that my initial lock was "on incorrectly" so they had to cut it off and replace it. I was locked out of my storage for almost 2 weeks because my work hours went longer than their office hours. When asked why I wasn't contacted they said they didn't have the correct number for me. But still I was contacted with no problem when the bill was due.

After removing my items that we were able to salvage and taking the rest to the Detroit city dump we brought the manager in to inspect the unit and when we showed her the half full trash bag of feces we swept off the floor I was given the number to the insurance company that was supposed to insure my unit. Called them and wasted multiple hours filing a claim only to have it denied because I found food remnants and and a bag of dry rice in the back corner of the unit amongst all the feces(these items were clearly brought in by the animals that were apparently having a party in my unit). Long story short I paid about 1500$ to store my items, an other 500 to bring items to and from the unit (125$ to dump damaged items) I was told to kick rocks by the scummy insurance company and ultimately forced to spend my first month in my new home without bedding, mattresses and over half of my clothing items due to the fact that I trusted this company and their insurance affiliates to be decent individuals and take responsibility for their rodent infestation. Zero stars! I will never the absolute dismissal I received as a result of my decision to support this local business
