So this is the second time I have had burritos from Mingos. We passed through Fort Stockton a couple of years ago and had breakfast burritos on the way out of town after we had stayed the night. Today we stopped for lunch burritos. I thought the breakfast burritos were really good, but they did not compare to the lunch ones. After having lunch, I knew I needed to leave a review. One item of note, the burritos are pretty small so I would recommend ordering at least 2. My wife on the other hand was satisfied with just one. The 3 burritos with extra cheese totaled $16 and change, so I think that was a fair price for lunch. especially as good as it was. They have a great selection of different meats. Both my wife and I had a Chili Verde Burrito with extra cheese. The Chile Verde had a good kick to it but was not too hot. The meat was super tender. You could tell it had been cooking all day. Great flavor and like I said the spice level was just right. The burrito was wrapped in foil, so when we got back to our RV, it was still blazing hot and had given the cheese time to fully melt. Delicious. I also had a spicy Chili Guisado. For those not familiar, it is a beef slow cooked in brown gravy. While it did not have the kick that the Chili Verde did, it still had a little bite, and with the salsa it was perfect. But the flavor was spot on. Another delicious option. We are here for another couple of days so its entirely possible that I might be back to try a different selection. They also have chicken, ground beef and potato and a brisket offering. And I'm sure I am probably missing something, so check their website for the latest menu. Other than that, their menu is pretty limited so don't expect much, they are after all called "Mingos Burritos". I always say, if you do one thing really good, you don't need to do a whole lot of things somewhat good, and they make a really, really good burrito. read more

Had a super random 5 star fast/easy food experience here at Mingo's after reading the rave reviews. You can walk in or drive through to get your FRESH made to order burritos on house made tortillas. Lots of various meats and items you can select, all while watching the ladies cooking it up in old timey cast iron pans. The burritos are about 4-5 bucks each, I had one and my Hubs got 2. The salsa is fantastic and this place is an absolute gem in this area! read more

Amazing food and service! The only problem is they are always busy and have a lot of customers, inside and at the drive through, so it will take a little time to get served most times. That's a good problem to have if you're in business. They could easily open a second place and still be overflowing with customers and business! Terrific food & great service. This is a "build your own burrito" kind of spot... The servers actually build the burrito, BUT you create it from the fresh ingredients displayed. Similar to building a Subway sandwich, but WAY better in burrito form... The burritos are small, so if you're hungry, consider creating two or three variations with your favorite ingredients. No one will look at you crazy for ordering more than one burrito. Provecho!!! read more

Stopped by here on a long drive. Some of the best burritos I have ever had. They're not super big, so you may have to order two, but they're cheap so it's still a good deal. They have a large amount of meat to choose from, and every type we tried was very good. Adding their cheese to your burrito is also a must. We came when restaurants only offer take-out, but luckily they have a drive through window which was extremely convenient. This place serves $3 burritos, they are relatively small but absolutely delicious! They were more like oversized tacos than anything since it wasn't really wrapped, just folded a few times. My buddy and I stopped in here while driving back to Washington from Alabama. Being alabama, there wasn't a lot of places to get quality Mexican food. So I was definitely craving the food stuff. YAY for a great breakfast while traveling on the road! We were heading west out of town and needed to get breakfast quickly. Fort Stockton RV Park had Mingo's advertising in their park map. Mingo's is great! The staff was helpful and the restaurant is CLEAN. Locals were in line ahead of me getting their breakfast and it was easy pickings to put your burrito selection together. HouseMade tortillas by women who know what they are doing, mmm-kay? They also have a drive-up window! Parking lot is large enough for a big motorhome or bumper-pull camper to maneuver around. We stopped by Mingos on the way back from Big Bend National Park. The two ladies working here were so friendly and greeted our hungry party with very affordable burritos and breakfast plates. The barbocoa was out of this world, so flavorful. I had the eggs, potatoes; and two meats. We got to stop at our road trip favorite!!!. Mingo's Burritos in Fort Stockton, TX! If you know, you know! Amazingly delicious! Add the asadero Queso to make it even better! Their salsa is perfection, no single ingredient tries to steal the show, just a wonderful medley of flavor with a touch of heat that makes a taste sensation! We literally stop here everytime we pass by, but they close at 1:30pm so you gotta hustle! Today, our gps said we were running about 15 minutes after closing. I called and they said they would have them made and wait for us! We ended up only 7 minutes after closing... now in hindsight and burritos long gone, we should have ordered more! My mom and I are on a road trip from Florida back to California and we wanted some quick lunch that wasn't fast food. This was the perfect stop. It's simple, they have what I think was freshly made flour tortillas, a bunch of meat options, beans, potatoes, eggs w/ chorizo, and a couple of different cheeses to choose from. They're small burritos so I got two to try the different cheeses (I'm vegetarian). My mom got barbacoa and brisket and loved both. They have tons of cans and bottles of different sodas and juices to choose from, and the staff was incredibly nice as well. I wish this place was closer to me! I hope I'll be back someday! read more

The only reason we pulled into this tiny town was to see the 'World's Largest Roadrunner" and fill up on gas. Since we were stopping we thought we'd quickly grab lunch as well. Found Mingo's on yelp of course and it had good ratings, so we stopped in. It was right across from the road runner too which was just the thing for our photo op. We were greeted by a very sweet young lady who was very obliging at explaining all our options. She went over what was spicy, what her favorite was, etc. We tried the slow roasted beef, green chili beef, and red chili pork. The tortillas seemed to be made in house and fresh. I really enjoyed the green chili beef, but all tasted good to me. Glad we stopped in! The gentleman also helping behind the counter recommended that we stop to look at the metal cut out outdoor art display next door too - which was a nicely done. It's order at the counter, so no sit down service (in case that's what you're wanting). They have plenty of tables to sit down at, but they do have a drive through if you want to stay on the road. read more

In a recent poll the people of Fort Stockton voted in our local newspaper that Mingo's had the best Burritos in Fort Stockton. If you are traveling on the Interstate 10 or spending a night in Fort Stockton Mingo's is your "go to" restaurant for a terrific breakfast or lunch burritos. Daniel and his team serve up the best burritos in the region. His egg and potato burritos are terrific. They open at 5:00 am and close at 1:30. If you are on I 10 westbound exit at Loves. It is a mile and a half on your right. If you are eastbound exit by the Flying J and travel south to Dickinson. Turn Left. It is about 4/10 of a mile on your left. Also they do have parking for a tractor trailers. An over the road driver was getting lunch when we dined on Saturday. Great food. Great prices. Great service! read more

Mingo's Burritos wasn't suppose to happen. As we were leaving Big Bend, we were going to stop in Marathon to eat breakfast but do to a power outage from a winter storm, we kept driving. The girlfriend frantically searched Yelp for a breakfast spot on our route. She came across Mingo's so we stopped in. We walked in and were immediately confused as to what to do. The friendly guy behind the counter marked us for out of towners right away. That may be because everyone there was a cowboy hat wearing Latino with mustaches that would make Tom Selleck jealous. He explained all the different concoctions that we could put on our burrito from behind the mini cafeteria like counter. I asked him for a recommendation and he had me get the Asedo(sp?) which was pork in a red chile and a Carne Asade in a green chile. Both of them were really good and had my Nola taste buds tingling and border line on fire. The problem with the place is they need to label what is what or have menu's describing what everything is. The only way to order now is to point and say "uuuuh that one". Also there are no toppings like lettuce, avacado, cheese, etc. to add to the burrito. You get what they have. Maybe that's the authentic way, I don't know. Again it was good, I just would prefer to know what the hell I'm eating . read more

This is my go-to spot. As a south Texan, it's hard to find something that reminds me of home. West Texas can be so bizarre...like who calls a taco a burrito? Any who, this place is so yummy. They have an assembly line of burrito (taco) makers ready to heat up your tortillas and take your order. The food is flavorful and the salsa is a hit! If it looks good, try it. Traveling across country on our move from CA to FL and came across this fantastic little burrito place. They have several meat options including barbacoa, spicy brisket, chile verde, and many more. Between my husband and I we tried the three I named. Each were absolutely delicious with perfectly spiced, tender meat served on a fresh, grilled flour tortilla. Highly recommend a stop here. We popped in at 11 and it was a little busy on the inside but the drive thru was BUSY and now I see why... they open at 5am and close at 130pm... their burritos are hands down the best I've ever had.
