I stopped by Ming Dynastie restaurant in Berlin for dinner recently. The restaurant has a nice view if one can get a table closer to the river. In terms of food, I'd give them 8.3/10 for the following: - Sweet and Sour pork (fried): 8.5/10: Good flavour and "wok-hei", but some pieces were a bit too dry (not sure if because just slightly too much breading or if the meat were too thin or not tender/fatty enough) - Potatoes, bell peppers, eggplant: 7.8/10: A lot of Eggplant and minimal bell pepper, flavour was okay read more

I had dinner here on a fairly busy Wednesday night. I was looking forward to some great DimSum and I preferred the large menu. It was categorized well and easy to follow. Portions were plentiful, but slightly suffered in quality. Staff were kind and efficient, but for food in Berlin, I would not go out of my way to come here. read more

Me and my girlfreind dined here saturday the 21 of February 2026 in tauentzienstrase 9-12 Berlin at around 20:00 We lived in a hotel next to the restaurant and saw the big yellow MING DYNASTY logo. So we decided to try it... since we love chinese food. Well there is so much to say. but il get over the good and the bad and there was unfortunately alot more bad than good, if any. Good... well the food "looked" tasty. seeing the others eating there lured us in, especially when u see other chinese. But as a couple who have tried many chinese restaurants. this one ranks as one of the worst chinese restaurant exsperiences we have tried to date. We looked over red flags and are now trying to warn others in regard. Service: 1-5. The service itself was not unique and the male waiter took along time to even notice us. after he did, we waited close to 10 minutes despite us seeing a free table all the time. and then he came back and just used his hand to point to the empty table, leaving us abit uneasy. But we looked over it. we where hungry and lets go. Well, the food came relatively quick. and service was not the worst after we sat down. So we thought. maybe the food is good. Food:1-5. So we ordered what we seemed was the most for the value. R3 (couple menu) for 75€. 6 course dinner with variety 1. cold plate starter. btw not specified whats in it... Redflag. The cold plate was plane boring and disgusting. There was cold small chicken pieces with dangerously crumbling chicken bones you had to spit out unless you wanted a sharp bone in your throat. some edemame beans: eatable. Some oiled up, cold cucumber slices with chili: boring and plane. and some boring cold, dry beef slices. 2. After the dissapointed starter, we gave hope to the next dish 3.Shrimp soup. The only thing decent/eatable, was the shrimp soup, with 4 balls of dough and shrimp. Yet it was kinda tasteless. the texure of the balls was okey, but nothing to scream delicious about. 4. crunchy duck. This one was a dissapointment, Not because of taste, because the taste was actully decent, id even say good. but the amount of food was almost nothing. it was 4 small roled pancakes the size of a big mug underside. and a tiny bit of deepfried duck with some cucumber and oil. Compared to other places u get a whole plate filled with duck, rice and so forth. very greedy with this one. and dint feel like a meal for 2 5. Rice and beef. The last dish was the final straw and what made us leave before even getting desert. The rice first came with this dish. and the rice was fine. but the beef and the sauce was awful, to an exstend i cant believe a restaurant in a city center like Berlin offers. The beef was soft, chewy and socky. It was marinated with this sour and bitter sauce that was overly salty too. It was not eatable to decent peoples mouths standarts. So we decided to call it quits and left. And yes, even even payed for it... even tho we felt robed for 75€ for almost nothing. Most other chinese restaurants, you get more than twice the sizes compared to this one. The worst part was the end. The waiter asked if we wanted it in a goody bag and if we wanted the icecream. we politely said no. But then he had the adaucity to say, and i shit you not... "the Food was good yes? Glad you liked it. So to think the others think we liked it. An we calmly said, No this food isnt good and we are not coming here for along time. This gives off manipulation, lazyness, and we left with a feeling of being robbed and mistreated. Our fault to not see these red flags. hope you read this and take precausion. 6. vanilla icecream. Didnt even bother to try location:2-5. The location is also nothing to scream hurray for. its inside this boring, almost dead mall. right next to a Mc Donalds where other people seemingly sits and eat like they are in the chinese restaurant. but really, its mcdonalds seats mixed in with the restaurant area, It seemed like. They have chinese style wooden chairs and amenities, also okey inside. didnt look alot tho. but i can only give it 2 stars for that. and for the centered location in Berlin that was right next to us. atmosphere:1-5. We unfortunately came in the wrong time at the wrong moment. after we left, there was a group of 20 seemingly other ethnic people. fighting right next to the Mc Donalds and the restaurant, with guards having to interfere. Very messy and you felt unsafe there. So all in all, i wouldnt reccomend going there til they fix their menu or management. they have alooot of improvement to do, if they want any good reviews from decent mouts. Id not reccomend going here as a turist, since they rip unsuspecting visitors off. find another place, i beg you. read more

Terrible. Oily food. I asked for a cup of hot water and was refused, repeatedly told that hot water is not included in the meal. What planet are these people living on? we paid for a bottle of water and food for almost 10 people but i just needed a cup of hot water for my throat... in the end i think they charged us 10 euros for a cup of warm tap water. Only in Europe would people tolerate this shit. Definitely the worst Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. read more

This restaurant with northern Chinese cuisine is not the best in town, but it's ok. The food is slightly above average. I wouldn't recommend any mixed drinks or "fresh pressed" juices though, trust me, you're better off with bottled beverages you are familiar with. Slow staff: Waitress needed 30 minutes to tell us whether a dish had pork in it or not. This question seemed to be particularly overwhelming and caused a lot of consternation for the staff. Communication problems: There was this weird incident that never happened to me elsewhere. Our waitress didn't get our order and that question about pork in German. I'm fluent in Mandarin so I asked her again. However, the lady preferred to answer in bad German instead which made the communication even more difficult, although she spoke Mandarin with her colleagues later on. read more

One of the best Chinease Restaurants in Berlin. They have a huge selection of dishes on the menu, way more that you will find in a lot of other places. The menu is really Chinease with a lot of "exotic" dishes like pigs ears, intestines, chicken feet etc. We had some starters and some meat dishes. The portions are really generous and the meat dishes come with rice. I will certainly go back there, great find. The location is also nice, you can sit outside and have a direct view on the Spree. read more

I'm Chinese and the food here is awful. The Beef dish was too salty. We also got the duck pancake, wow the pancake they used was soggy and not the correct one I rate that "F" Bad Bad. Close to Potsdamer Platz there is a GOOD duck pancake place Pek-Ente or something. Dim sum nothing special. Overall, I will NOT return. read more

People say that it's the best Chinese restaurant in Berlin but I think it might be a bit overrated. There is a big selection of food. Even the most fancy things like shark fins. The menu is very authentic. My boyfriend and I (both from China) decided to have some daily food though. We had Dan Dan Mian (sichuan noodle) and sauer sweet fish. The portion of the sauer sweet fish was not very big. It tastes okay but not so amazing. The noodle was too soft and it was just a bowl of noodle. There should be more meat. The kiwi alcohol free cocktail was disgusting. The staff was friendly though. And the price was okay. Maybe I will try the all you can eat or the more fancy stuff some other day. read more

I gave 2 stars mainly because of the Unfriendly Waiter who made me feel sorry about asking anything, I assume he's the son of the owner. Unfriendly and somehow rude. Food is Ok, a bit on the pricey side considering the quality of the food: We got Half Duck which was good, but the sauce was far too acid. Rice was good. Vegetables were ok, but not worthy of 8EUR. Won ton soup with prawns is too expensive, 5,80EUR for a very small portion, and taste too much like sesame sauce. This was the worst experience I had with restaurants so far, my friend found a fly in the food, the staffs were unfriendly, they said they can't avoid flies in buffet in summer. During payment we tried figure out why they charged the two kids, who are less than 3 years, for buffet. The boss got angry immediately and said we won't be welcomed in the future... read more

Standing proudly just across from the Chinese Embassy I expected a great deal from this Restaurant. The food was mediocre, the restaurant looks reasonable nice and it's relatively clean. Although I got a dirty knife and a dirty look for asking for a replacement knife. The Mapo Tofu was not like any I'd seen before in my life and there was about 9 grains of mince in the sauce which I know because they were so few I could count them. They have a wide selection of Dim Sum and I had a selection, I was only really satisfied with one of the selections the others tasted like rubber (probably because they were using rubber in the steamers) . I have, unfortunately, no Idea where they got the good reputation they are supposed to have. read more

Real chinese restaurant across the street of the Chinese Embassy. Once, when I was invited to the 60. Anniversary of the Republic of China Act in the Embassy, this restaurant was the caterer. The mixed review from this restaurant is probably because of its originality and Non Asians, who are used to the cheap Asian noodles around the corner. The food is typical food of the zhejiang province. They don't do dim sums, so I didn't bother ordering dim sum. I have been here a couple of times already. If you want to experience original zhejiang cooking this is the place and order from the menu. I've tried the buffet, but the quality is not the same. read more

Arguably the best Chinese in town. Good friends is good too and has more roast meats, but Ming Dynasty has a better dim sum and vegetarian menu. The wantons are really really yummy, with a little bit of lemongrass in the stuffing - miam miam. The only negative point is there a very light wine list: there's like 2 reds to choose from and no rosé (which is really de rigueur with Chinese food). Last time I was there I had the 'Great Wall red (produced in China) and it really wasn't that good. The traditional Peking Duck is a must (book 24hrs in advance), as well as the fondue (really popular with their Chinese clientele it seems). read more

The buffet is huge and full if interesting stuff... Very good for 15 euros..Some of the food are slightly customized to western tastes so that bit is irritating... The dumplings are fresh and tasty...Everything else is quite good and authentic. read more

I've been to the Ming Dynasty I several times, every visit has been a success, good food and good service. The highlight was the the Feuertopf (hot pot) which I shared with a friend one Christmas Eve. Lovely sauces and generous amounts of food. They top up everything as much as required, even the prawns which my friend really tucked into. The tofu was the freshest and the best I can remember having and it was the first time I had the sliced noodles. The peanut/chilii sauce is to die for. I have also had the buffet for Sunday lunch. This is very good (and good value as well), if not as much a gourmet experience as the hot pot. A good selection of noodles, meat dishes,fish, spring rolls and even some sushi. In particular I enjoyed the crispy duck and the fried prawns/shrimps. The food is continually topped up so things don't run out, even the popular items. Definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants in town! read more

Authentic Sichuan cuisine. One of the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to when I'm abroad.

It's hard to find good authentic Chinese Food outside of China. This place is awesome.

It's a reasonably nice place, the waiters were friendly, no problems, the food was... ok. Not great, but ok. The buffet is pretty small and lacks some more sauces (if you offer duck, fish, etc. by itself, I expect more sauces to go with it than just sweet&sour). One meat (I think it was beef) was only lukewarm at best and pretty chewy, which was also true for some of the other stuff. Personally, I would not recommand the buffet, but we will probably go again and try something from the menu. read more
