I wanted to try a different restaurant in Berlin today, and a friend from the Czech Republic…read morerecommended Long March Canteen, saying that pretty much anything on the menu would be a pleasure to try. When I arrived, I found a door at the corner that looked boarded up, with a sign pointing around the corner to the front entrance. I walked around and found a door covered in stickers, almost like a backstage entrance. Since I didn't see any other signs, I figured I was in the right place and tried the handle. Inside, the maître d' asked about my reservation and quickly showed me to my table. I ordered the Popeye's spinach, Peking duck, and Shanghai dumplings. The spinach was the star of the night. I think the sauce was made with turmeric, which gave it a special kick, and it was wonderfully creamy. Best of all, it was vegan, so I didn't have to worry about dairy spoiling my evening. The Peking duck was beautifully presented, though I had a little trouble chewing it because it was slightly overcooked. I knew it was a fusion restaurant, so I wasn't expecting the duck to be roasted in the way I'm used to. The Shanghai dumplings were served a little differently, too: since this is a fusion restaurant, they came with a very fine ginger juice mixed into the sauce for dipping. Keep in mind that the dumplings don't have much soup inside, but their presentation made the dish even more enjoyable. Next time, I'll bring someone along so we can order from the prix fixe menu.

Oh boy, I ate here in July 2023 and didn't leave a review on Yelp at the time, but the restaurant…read moreused German defamation laws to scare Google into taking down my truthful review. So now I'm leaving the same review here as well because the owners must be awful people. Oh, and I sent proof to Google that I did in fact eat here. The Review: If you've ever had good dim sum elsewhere (I'm from Seattle), skip this place. Not only is the dim sum not great, some of it was objectively bad. The veggie dumpling was essentially a flavorless spring roll. The service was horribly slow. We paid for prix fixe and so they shouldn't have long waits between dishes as it's *fixed* what we are getting. At one point, there were 3 waiters sitting at the same table as us just talking with each other and we were waiting for our next 2 dishes to come. Expensive, slow, and not good food.
