What keeps me from coming more often is the way they block the machine and insist on taking your card and doing the simple self administered machine and payment for you. Even if you already know what wash you want or have a monthly membership, they still walk up to your window and start talking so you have to roll it down. I once asked the owner why they do this and explained that I and many others don't like it, she became very defensive, saying people don't know how to use the machine and I find this reason ridiculous in this day and age. For me, the whole process feels unnecessary and frustrating. I prefer a quick, self‑serve experience, and it's especially inconvenient when I have dogs in the car who immediately start barking when someone approaches. I'd genuinely visit more often if they simply let customers use the machine on their own.

This shop is not a STAR station, so be sure to check your paperwork before coming in. This shop also requires a reservation for a smog check so call ahead of time! Kevin completed my smog check in under 30 minutes, and while I'm not sure what the average price is, his kindness, efficiency, and professionalism were absolutely worth it! I'd say I would come again but I'm hoping now to need to anytime soon (though I will be back next time it's required!)

The tow truck guy was kinda odd but the people at A 1 were very helpful and actually seemed to care that I had to get my piece of crap car back on the road. The mgr and the service tech both were very friendly and even let me bring my labrador inside to watch tv while the repair was made. Our car broke down and AAA towed us to their garage. They told me that my car would be read in 3-4…read moredays. They encouraged me to rent a car from the Hertz dealer which was in the same office space (suspect!). Left with no option we signed their estimated work order and rented a car. Over the course of the next EIGHT DAYS we never got a call when they thought it would take longer than originally planned. They didn't even call us when our car was done being worked on! When I went to pay for it they over charged me by $148 which I didn't realize until I looked at the papers after I had already drove off. I went back and they KNEW they over charged me cause the receptionist (Jennifer) said with a smile, "Yeah that price didn't sound right. Oh yeah, our computer says you only approved $*****. I'll get you refunded." And she kept making excuses for why I couldn't see a supervisor. SOO many problems with this place and I don't trust anyone there. Avoid at all cost!

Chris, the owner was so knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the problem with our car which was a spark plug that exploded. He had it fixed within a couple of hours and we were up and running again.
