The space is really gorgeous, a high ceiling-ed renovated barn in the Pennsylvania School of the Performing Arts, which has all these awesome giant posters of past shows. Renee, the instructor, was very nice and helpful. I think it was a holiday and there was only one other person in the class, which made it really intimate and wonderful. The heater was a bit noisy, and I remember the music being awkwardly loud for some reason. The class itself was a bit slow and not challenging enough for my liking, but still very relaxing. My mom and sister, who don't do yoga as much, really enjoyed it and found it challenging enough. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area and find Yogasphere too crowded! Prices were reasonable from what I remember. From their website, it looks like they have class outdoors by the lily pond in the summer, will definitely have to check that out next time I'm home and it's nice out!

As soon as I enter the studio, I shut off the "to do list" and feel my shoulders begin to relax…read more The warmth of the space and the instructors make you feel welcome, regardless if you are a beginner or a seasoned yogi. Classes available for all levels, from vinyasa to restorative. If you never tried yoga but want to, explore gentle yoga or restorative with Ginger or Cindy. You won't regret it!

I was home for the weekend and in some dire need of some zen so I stopped by this studio twice this…read moreweekend and it was great! Difficulty level: I'm a pretty big yoga snob so I was a bit nervous the suburbs wouldn't be up to my regular practice. I usually practice power yoga (Anjali) or vinyasa flow (Dhyana) in Philly and i was pleasantly surprised that the level 2/3 classes here were on par with the regular classes at the studios I usually go to in the city. Although not heated like power yoga, it was definitely a great workout and I broke a sweat. Instructors: Annamieke and Allison were both great instructors, and have options to go into inversions and arm balances. Studio: The studio is beautiful and really cool, exposed wood beams and giant lanterns in an old barn looking building. Pricing: Drop in was $15 with a 20% discount for students and I know they regularly run Groupons. Pro-tips: Don't forget to grab come complimentary yogi tea on your way out! No need to sign up online for your first time, it doesn't seem like classes fill up ahead of time. Recap: Definitely check it out if you are on the area!

It's tiny and hot only. Teachers were decent, at least the three I tried but not very engaging. They charge for everything. I forgot my mat and they charge for rent. I guess it's like that everywhere. If were me, I would just let people use mats then clean them. Overall it was nice and clean. The only thing I truly didn't like was the fact that the bathroom was right inside the yoga room itself and not in the waiting area.

I came to Sun Dog Yoga when I registered for the 6-week Yoga Basics Series. Shari was my teacher…read moreand she was amazing. She was really awesome about keeping a slow pace and giving easy modifications for almost every pose. Each class she added more poses to the Ashtanga flow. The class size was was small and intimate, so Shari was able to give each of us a lot of personalized attention. She also taught us the opening chant. I have since "graduated" from the Yoga Basics course and started taking Ashtanga Foundations classes in the evenings. The Monday night class with Erica was a little crowded (maybe a dozen yogis), so I felt cramped after my intimate experience with the Yoga Basics course. Erica as a teacher was great (I wasn't used to such a fast pace)! She acknowledged that I was new and paid close attention to my poses. The Sunday evening class with Meredith/Cassie was more intimate with 5 yogis (surprisingly, mostly men). We opened the class with the opening chant and there was enough time to work on some hip opening poses towards the end. I left this class feeling high on life. The studio itself is quaint and homey. The area where you leave your shoes can get a bit crowded between classes. The atmosphere is immediately calming with quiet music, incense, candles, water fountains and an altar. There is a second room for meditation and I'm guessing massage. There are two bathrooms as well. Yoga mats and other accessories are available for purchase on site.

There are classes for beginners and more experienced students alike but what sets it apart from any other studio in 40 miles radius is Mysore program. This is a class where everybody practices by themselves in a group and the teacher is there to help and offer individual instruction. It is like having a private class. The best class for beginners, and advanced students alike. Everybody moves at their own pace, truly non competitive and very safe environment.
