My husband and I have had a wonderful experience with Lotus Counseling Center, specifically…read moreVictoria Raymond. We sought out her assistance/help as roughly six months ago my husband and I hit a breaking point (in full disclosure) with many life changes going on (cross-country move, differences in habits/space, job-related change etc.). To be transparent, I felt (because of the circumstances) we were on our last leg. The only thing I could think of to help was maybe therapy so I looked online and saw Lotus (and Victoria) had good reviews and instantaneously requested to book a session with her. I had been to two other relationship counselors in another city from some time ago that did not help at all, so was not quite confident (even with seeing good reviews about this center) that our situation could be helped. I have to say I was wrong about my doubts. Victoria was very easy to talk to, listened objectively and provided some strategies and exercises that truly caused us to think differently and apply different methods which started to improve our daily interactions. I also like that she is direct and honest. She is not one of those therapists that asks 'how does that makes you feel' while scribbling on a note pad and looking at you robotically like you're a specimen in a lab. Of course she cares about how you feel and does ask, but she also has personality and gives her opinion/thoughts to you straight while showing empathy at the same time. She does not take sides, but if you are acting in a way that's not being constructive to yourself or your partner, she will let you know. I like that direct approach, but it is not in a harsh way.. it is straightforward and meant to help, which in our case, it did! She truly cares about your progress as an individual and a couple and this has been evident in her work with us. My husband and I, after starting on very shaky ground prior to seeing Victoria, are at a much better place in our relationship, have been communicating ten fold better, have gotten the *spark* (romance) back and honestly feel that we are doing better now than when we were in the 'honeymoon' phase of our relationship (we have been together almost 7 years). We were doing therapy once a week and still plan to talk to/see (after Covid 19 situation improves) Victoria for 'tune ups'/check ins as needed (I believe therapy is not a bad thing to partake in, even when things aren't at their worst), but can say that the bulk of our challenge/mission has been complete and my husband has mellowed out significantly (thank the Lord, Amen! lol). In all seriousness, I highly recommend Victoria and Lotus Counseling Center for your counseling needs, especially couples counseling (since this is what I can speak on). We can't thank Victoria enough and the whole staff there is very nice and professional (and handles insurance billing in a competent manner as well). Stay safe out there folks and hope everyone finds themself mentally and emotionally balanced during these Covid times. God bless.

I cannot write enough or narrow this review to a few words so that I can express what Pathwaves…read more did and continues to do for me. In a few words, I arrived to Pathwaves feeling broken, afraid, lost and almost hopeless. After my treatment with Pathwaves I can honestly say that I am a new person. I am able to focus, make sound decisions, I have new healthy habits which allow me to sustain a life that I always wished I had, and I have healed both mentally and physically. When I arrived to Pathwaves, I would spend every day of my life fearing that I was going to either lose my mind or die. I could not handle stress, I was constantly overthinking, my body had aches and sensations that I could not find a cause for. Because of past trauma, I was full of anxiety and thinking that was just how my brain worked and there was no way around it. No meditation, therapy or exercise helped me regain control of my body. Then, last year I started having serious vertigo, I was constantly nauseous and overall physically unwell. I reached out to every possible doctor, searching for an answer and ended up at the neurologist who performed an MRI. After the MRI results, the neurologist told me that stress and trauma were making me physically ill and I possibly needed to go on meds or I should speak to a psychiatrist. Despite of my past with severe anxiety, and panic attacks; I had always refused to get on meds. I had tried them when I was younger and hated how they made me feel. So I reached out to a psychiatrist who recommended Pathwaves in order to address past trauma, anxiety, and overall, retrain my brain into healthier habits. At the beginning it was a challenge. It all seemed unknown, expensive and few people could explain the "how" it would help me. I had major trust issues with the "medical" field, so it was less than ideal to hand my money to a group of people I knew so little about. I doubted everyone and I was afraid that it was just a gimmick to take my money, or even worse, that they could "break" my brain by getting in it and manipulating it. However, this was my last stop, and the idea of neuroplasticity caught my attention. After getting informed and nurtured by the Pathwaves family I decided to give it a shot. Pathwaves allowed me to come back to life. I had been surviving for such a long time. Fearing every day that if my arm hurt it was heart attack, if my head was hurting it was an aneurism, if my abdomen hurt it's because once again my surgery had gone wrong; or if I had too much on my plate I was going to "lose" it. I have been able to use the tools that they have given me to have a peaceful, productive and joyful life; and I know this is only the beginning! I did the first 10 sessions to get to Cami 2.0. I am saving for my other 9 sessions and meanwhile I maintain with the Gym - which are monthly sessions that keep me on my toes and addresses those little things that go off when I'm not really paying attention to myself. I no longer feel physically ill, I no longer have vertigo nor sensations that I fear, I am getting a grip on trusting people and most importantly, the fact that I am SAFE. That feeling of constant impending doom has ceased and I can finally live my life fully. I can't recommend Pathwaves enough!

I have struggled…read morewith extreme anxiety and depression for most of my life due to childhood and young adult trauma. I have tried everything to heal. I saw doctors, therapists, and self medicated with alcohol. On the outside I looked like I had it all together, but I was dying inside with crippling anxiety and depression. I have been sober for over a year, and live a very healthy life now, but was still overwhelmed with anxiety. A good friend, who is also a psychologist in another state, told me I needed to try EMDR. It has worked miracles for people with PTSD and Complex PTSD. We found Mirta through the EMDR website. Simply put, Mirta changed by life. Her work with me was nothing short of miraculous. I saw her for several sessions beginning in May. By August I felt like the me I have always wanted to feel like. I have no anxiety....ZERO. I have my life and the only way I can describe the feeling is pure freedom and happiness. Im writing this review in the hopes that it can help other people going through the same thing. Mirta is an amazing therapist and she helped me to save myself and open up to a life Im supposed to have. My insurance is terrible so I paid out of pocket. It was worth every penny!!! You cannot put a price on freedom from depression and anxiety. Mirta is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and professional. And I am beyond grateful that I found her! And yes, this has all been during COVID. We worked on-line on a secure site and it was just like being with her in an office.....but way more convenient. If your struggling, do yourself a favor and call her. I promise you will be so grateful you did.

After several serious issues which needed addressing, I had a conversation with her and Lucy Fernandez, in charge of the office, in which I at least felt Ms. Fernandez validated the actual evidence of issues I had because of this person. Today, Ms. Fernandez wrote me to ask I remove my negative review because "we both understand how important these reviews are." I did so to avoid future communication with the office. Then I realised I do know how important they are which is why I wrote it in the first place and decided I needed to keep this truth here. Not everyone has a negative time, in fact, as I previously stated, I had worked with two other professionals here who for whom I have only the highest praise. But Ms. Rahman has no regard for patients and now I see her superior holds stars on Yelp more important than a patient's warning to others in the same vulnerable position. I would've respected her asking me to update my review after our conversation to credit her efforts (again Ms. Rahman only furthered her negative qualities throughout the talk) but this I found to be a form of bullying for self-advancement. Unfortunate for a mental health care professional. Our relationship has now ended with me asking they refrain from future contact with me.
