Late one…read moreevening after a rainstorm, I was walking my dog and saw an elderly woman, who appeared to be in her mid-to-late 70s, sitting near the entrance with all of her belongings. She had multiple bags of clothing, personal items, and even a television. All of her belongings had been rained on. From the outside, it looked as though she had nowhere to go and had been left there on her own. I don't know the details of her situation, but seeing an elderly woman sitting alone on the street at night with all of her possessions was heartbreaking. I could not imagine having a loved one recovering at a facility and then finding themselves in such a vulnerable position. Fortunately, I was able to help her arrange transportation to where she needed to go. If a business is going to serve vulnerable members of our community, I believe it has a responsibility to ensure they are treated with dignity and care, from start till finish. What I witnessed that evening was incredibly sad and left a lasting impression on me.

The neighborhood and the outside building is quite nice. It's just when you get inside that you want a stiff drink (and I don't even drink). If you're running late or need other information, don't even bother calling. My experiences were frustrating. A staff member and the security guard could barely speak English to assist me properly. Don't even attempt to call the desk on the weekend. The phone rings off the hook and then goes into voicemail. What's up with that? The poor residents look as if they're barely existing. I try to cheer my friend up and take pictures of her smiling. She appeases me, but the glazed look in her eyes and trembling hands (side effect of the meds), is so heartbreaking. I was told that the meals are monotonous and tasteless, reminiscent of prison food. I just thank God that I've never had a problem, mentally or otherwise, that would land me in such a place. I'd rather walk the streets in an incoherent stupor. Hopefully, someone in authority reads this and makes the necessary changes. One can hope.

That my friends is no psychiatrist, therapist, or a kind human. So stay away. When you approach a dr with your problem that you have had for over 30 yrs, and you explain that you don't want a multitude of different meds that dont work. That gives her the ability to know shes not going to be making too much money by throwing a bunch antidepressants at me. I know what i am, who i am and whY i need. My experience with Brave Health has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. After I…read moreoriginally requested to be reassigned away from a psychologist named Abby towards the end of 2025 due to ostracized, criticized and unsupported making my interaction with her uncomfortable during appointments, I was still reassigned back to the same provider months later despite previous communication about the issue. Because of the delays and lack of follow-through, I've now gone an extended period without proper continuity of care or access to my medication management. Attempting to contact the office has also been difficult, with repeated voicemails and little to no timely communication back. That being said, I do want to acknowledge that not everyone at Brave Health has been a negative experience. Tyler, one of the therapists there, and Alex, who does EMDR, have both been wonderful, compassionate, and genuinely supportive providers. They are honestly a large part of why I have stayed with Brave Health as long as I have instead of already seeking therapy elsewhere. Unfortunately, despite having positive experiences with certain therapists, my experience with psychiatric care and provider reassignment has been so poorly managed that I am now considering finding a psychologist outside of Brave Health altogether. Mental health care requires professionalism, compassion, responsiveness, and respect for patient concerns. Patients seeking support should not feel ignored or stuck in limbo while trying to access care.

Especially for people in need of therapy plus medication management. It's very difficult to get a live person, lots of prompts to leave voicemail or send an email, and once you connect all communication after is via text. Call backs are challenging and appointments are scheduled without notice, people are also randomly discharged. The place is chaotic and poorly run. There are actual established online IOPs if you need help, unfortunately this is not one of them. I write this to hopefully save a life. Because the negligence of this place could actually harm someone. Have your PCP or doctor find something else for you in network and if you are a hospital or IOP DO NOT refer people here who really need it. This may be good if you have some mild depression, don't mind waiting for care, and are okay with talking with a counselor. I had a truly life changing experience working with Michele from Essence Nutrition, and I don't use…read morethose words lightly. What's important to note is that I actually had very good nutrition going into my work with Michele. Before I started working with her, I was already maintaining a very healthy diet- cooking all of my own meals, lots of fresh vegetables and fruit, lean proteins, little to no added sugar in my diet, etc... However, Michele took my nutrition from great to exceptional. I sought nutritional advice for two main reasons: weight management and recovery from ulcers in my GI tract that I have been dealing with for about three years now. Due to issues with ulcers, I had previously been instructed by doctors to go on liquid diets for weeks on end, and have had consistent weeks and months where I was barely able to eat anything due to pain. This caused my metabolism to slow a substantial amount, and started causing me a lot of weight gain when I was able to eat normally and healthily again. After just a couple weeks of working with Michele, she had already taught me so many great techniques and information that I started seeing significant positive change in regards to how I was feeling each day. Michele's simple changes to my diet caused something to happen that I never even thought possible- my ulcerative colitis symptoms went from mild to practically non existent. The intense cramping and pain I used to feel at the end of each day disappeared if I followed the diet as instructed. I was never able to reach these kinds of results, even with the strongest of medication over the span of three years. This dramatically positively impacted my quality of living, which has led to better mood, better sleep, better workouts, and better mental health. The Essence Nutrition system is a great example of getting out of something what you put into it. If you take the advice and recommendations seriously and take the time to input the pictures and descriptions into the "Healthie" app, then you will really benefit from some qualified and thoughtful input from your nutrition expert.
