Just beware before pre-purchasing any membership, that they have every limited spots and most days are "waitlist only". It's like this for at last a month out. I kept calling to inquire, and finally the studio manager got back to me, and I asked her if she can roll over the days I won't be able to get in since most of the days were waitlist. The only things she responded with were to gaslight me and say, "well look at it this way, even if you only take 2 classes in your pass, it already pays for itself since one class is $45". I was flabbergasted at her response, that I just laughed it off. No girl, I paid for unlimited classes 7 days, I expect to take at least 1 class for exactly 7 days, whether you have to roll-over the credits due to your over bookings. If you're having issues with not having enough carriages, or your clients overbook, then why advertise to new clients? It's a bait & switch marketing, and scummy. She did help me with delaying my membership start-date to my request. Also she kindly called me early morning the next day to alert me of a slot opening up. Which brings me to my next point, that she eased my concern of "waitlist" bookings, which can open up on the spot or half hour before, even mid-day classes. I'm not a retired person or just laying doing nothing where I can't attend an opening for their waitlist with little notice, or random times in the middle of the day. That comfort gave zero relief to me. I am still waiting to join my first class, and already another issue arises. My 7 day UNLIMITED pass isn't allowing me to book now without prompting me to pay $45. I tried calling, texting, emailing. Nothing. I'll update for any developments.

There's something really special about this studio- all of the amazing teachers and incredible staff learn (and use) everyone's name and you feel like a welcomed member of the family from day 1. The other members are friendly, supportive, and it's easy to make wonderful friends with whom you'll really enjoy taking classes. Gina has done a remarkable job at creating a sense of community and family amongst all teachers, staff, and clients that is unlike anything else and is easily one of my favorite aspects of this studio. You can tell everyone is genuinely happy to be there. There are 6 different types of classes you can take and no matter which you go to, you're guaranteed a challenging workout that you'll definitely feel the next day. Every teacher is not only incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, but they're kind, supportive and encouraging which makes me want to do the very best I can (even when I'm not feeling my strongest). The teachers work hard to make sure your form is correct and will help you make any necessary adjustments. Every class is different, so you can go every day and you'll never do the exact same workout. I leave the studio feeling stronger than I did when I walked in (both physically and mentally) and eager to come back the next day. As an added bonus, all of the clothes, bags and gear they sell is of the highest quality and super stylish, and the studio offers lots of other opportunities to further feed your soul with book clubs, CPR classes, and one hour community discussions on the various wellness benefits of positivity and working out etc. I'm so grateful to have joined this studio and can't recommend it enough to people of all ages and levels of skill and strength; this is one decision you'll never regret, and your body and your heart will thank you!

I had done two Lagree classes prior to trying SLT as well as a Solidcore class at one of their LA studios. I opted for SLT this time only because they had a 2/$40 intro deal which was a little more cost effective than paying the drop in rate at the Solidcore studio nearby. I showed up for my first of two classes, and the reception girl was nice and gave me a refresher on the megaformer but warned me "you'll be lost and that's okay". She actually advised me to "copy others" if that became the case. That should have been my sign to leave, as Lagree and Pilates are both about having proper form, not just "copying" another participant which can lead to injury. If your cueing is that bad where participants are "lost," perhaps you shouldn't market it as an "all levels" class. Then I find out the instructor I had signed up for was switched to Farah, which should have been my second sign to leave. Dang, was she is rough. And not in a good way. She's forceful, impatient, and comes off very pompous. She actually had us hold movements to a beat at one point, like what? You're supposed to count at a steady pace; what instructor worth their salt coordinates the movements to their playlist? I spent the first 20 minutes debating on whether I should just walk out before I decided to ignore her vibe and just sweat it out. Instead of leaving empowered to take on my day, I left demoralized and disappointed. Then I took Alexandra's class on my second of two visits, and it was night and day. She's truly the only reason I'm giving SLT 3 stars and not 1. She was the saving grace, as she offered fantastic cues and did good demonstrations that were easy to follow. If I'm "copying" anyone, it should be the trained instructor. Alexandra was also attentive to everyone and offered gentle corrections when needed. She was courteous and asked if I'm okay with hands-on corrections, which I appreciated as well. I thanked her for turning my experience at SLT around and left her class feeling strong and inspired. Can't say I'd ever go back to SLT though. I prefer studios that are a bit more professional and prioritize safety and form. Since those two classes, I racked up 6 more Lagree classes in California on top of my normal Pilates routine. Yet to have any experience get close to rivaling the awful class I had with Farah, and I vow to walk out of any instructor's class that times a movement to "when the beat drops."

Knowing she has my back and won't ask me to do more than I'm able at the moment is a huge benefit. I've worked with other trainers in the past and they have not shown half the level of care and professionalism that you get with Ann Pelino. If you want a private, custom experience, this is the place to go.

I've been working with Ann for over a year…read more Ann is a fantastic personal trainer. I've had continuous a personal trainer between 2003-2013, took a break between 2013 and 2015, but started working out with Ann in Nov 2015. In that steady decade of trainers, I worked with 6 trainers in that timeframe. Ann is among the best. To me the sign of a great personal trainer is their ability to adapt. An excellent personal trainer will still ensure you have a great work out if you sprain your ankle, have a pain point, or are bored with the same old activities. Injury: I recently sprained my ankle running; while we haven't been able to burn as many calories or get intense cardio in while I heal, we are still pushing those weights and keeping my upper body & core active. Pain Point: When I do have a pain point, I explain it to Ann and she 9 times out of 10 has a recommendation that helps to alleviate the issue almost immediately: for example, I occasionally have pain in my right knee - Ann will recommend specific foam rolling and the pain is gone. To me this demonstrates knowledge & expertise about the body that one can only get with a trainer who has been working with clients for a while. Variety: Given I've worked out with trainers for over a decade, I thought I had seen most workouts, activities, sets/reps, combination, etc. I had gotten to the point where trainers and the industry were simply renaming certain moves and I recognized it. I don't know where Ann gets her library of activities, but she will bring out a new move that combines actions and my brain LOVES the challenge! I just have to tell her I'd like to "change it up" and she instantly has us doing new moves. Ann helps keep me motivated; she often will text me just to make sure I get the workouts between sessions we discussed. We thoughtfully discuss her recommendations for working out between sessions. She always asks about my nutrition and has suggestions that help. I'm losing weight, but what's better I FEEL healthy. I'm so much more active again. I've started working out twice a day. I am able to run around before and after working out, taking care of chores with far more energy... the biggest thing is a return to a more active lifestyle: enjoying my passion for hiking and doing 1K foot mountains in a morning with friends and now I'm running 5Ks - considering a 10K & 1/2 marathon in 2017. A lot of that is my personal motivation, but Ann HELPS me and SUPPORTS me. I've been a client since November 2015 and I will continue being a client. I see her a minimum of twice a week.

I've been spoiled at certain times in my life…read more I was born in Southern California and spent my very young years living three blocks from the beach and a short drive from Disneyland. I got out of having to be in the band, chorus or orchestra in middle school because my mom was a PTA big shot and pulled some strings. Every time we drove up from Jersey to Penn State to drop me off at college, the same mom would stop at the beer distributor and pick me up a case of Yuengling. And The Chatham Club was the first gym I ever went to. But being spoiled doesn't always have its privileges. Every other gym is ruined for me because none can keep up with this place. I've been a member here three separate times in my travails in and out of living in this area, and every time they seem to have something new for the members. With my recent membership I noticed 3 stationary bikes with large screens attached to them. They aren't TVs but provide you the opportunity to ride virtual courses. Instead of just being told there's a hill by some LCD screen, you see the hill approaching with the ocean to your left. Very cool stuff. They have a huge assortment of treadmills, bikes, ellipticals and machines (a separate spinning studio also). Pretty much everything you could need is here and then some. If there's any sort of minor complaint, the free weight area is a little small and can get crowded if you go during a busy time, but it's not too bad. There are also 6 squash courts if that's your thing plus an aerobics studio, pilates and probably tons of other things I don't even know about. Just get off your butt and go already.

They have your credit card and WILL keep billing you unless you go through hoops to cancel your account. They removed my credit card information & added it back without me being there even though they said they "got rid of all my credit card information from the system". It is interesting that they can't remove my information unless I am there in person, but they can add my credit card information without me being there. I thought it was strange when I first signed up, but now that I know about this scam, I will never do business with companies that do this. The manager claimed "all gyms" do this. I don't go to other gyms, so I don't know if that is true or not. ------------------ Prior review The positives: 1) Pilates is good for you - their classes are ok 2) The location is easy to find parking 3) "unlimited classes" is a nice idea, but it really doesn't make sense unless you have unlimited time to play the "find a class" game. The negatives: 1) impossible to find a class "last minute" (the week of). It seems like people pack in classes & then cancel last minute to avoid the no-show fee. I know this because when I went to "full" classes, there were often at least 1-3 spots open for "full" classes. 2) extremely unethical billing See attached. There is no billing notification, ever. This is extremely unethical behavior. Everything I can think of from streaming TV / music service, utilities, credit card, wireless phone .. they all send an email or text at time of billing. 3) I can't remove my credit card information See attached. It says even if I remove my account, you will still be billed. 4) canceling can only be done in person. I called / texted for 3 business days and the manager never called back. If you leave town, better get a flight back to this location to sign the paperwork. Because they ONLY cancel and remove your credit card information in person. Very sketchy & unethical 5) biggest complaint: No receipts for payments. I know no business that does this. Meaning every other business provides a receipt for payment. Club Pilates doesn't do this because they are unethical. They need to change this practice.

Within minutes of booking, I received a call from the studio from Megan. She asked me if I could come at 4:30pm instead because other people had canceled the 12pm this morning and it sounds like they no longer had an instructor available. I agreed to come later. She then told me this wasn't a full free workout and it was only 30 minutes and then a discussion about membership plans since this is really only for people who want to become members. I had made the mistake of sharing that I was visiting and could not have felt less welcome by her. I wasn't looking for a free class, the intro is required by the studio. My goal was to do the intro and book a few more classes this week. Megan just kept repeating that this was really for people who would become members so I told her to just cancel it and forget it.
