I asked Coda to show me around, and as if she understood she took me to each room, then returned to near the checkout counter where I think her main job is to greet people coming in. The individual rooms in which to wander are made magical as the shelves are marked using old Scrabble tiles. This is because the owners are super-dooper creative. As well as knowledgeable and hospitable. And funny. They share their sweet dog Coda with each guest and to this date she hasn't tinkled on a single customers shoe! However I think the owners should teach her to do that for the few shoplifters that have sullied the place. The kids room is amazing and each child that finds the secret room is transported to a magical place all their own. As a member of the senior crowd I'm VERY grateful for the neatest, most creative bathroom in the entire town! My first visit there it was the FIRST room I needed to find. As I sat there meditating to the sound of the clapping of one hand I just KNEW I was in for a treat with the rest of the store and I sure was! Besides the great selection of books (which I think are priced almost too low) you can find a few collectible/antique offerings as well as other goodies like snacks and greeting cards. Take the kids and wander in. I promise you won't be disappointed. But be prepared...they are located right next door to McDonald's.

The real gem of this place is the basement which is home to vintage books at killer prices. There are books wall to wall on everything you can imagine- art & culture and history and ancient medicine. I purchased a book about interpreting dreams for $1.99, a book about giving a toast for $4.99 and a book of dog stickers for 60 cents! The staff was friendly and let us browse the aisles to our hearts content. There is a bathroom inside but you need to ask for a key to use it. A "bonus" of this place is it is located to a handy map of the downtown area and neat photo ops like the red London Telephone booth at the end of the block. Masks are required inside the store and staff wore masks as well.

I took one star off, due to how warm they keep the store. Every-time I go here I get overheated no matter what I'm wearing. Besides that issue I have no complaints.

I then spoke with the employee and the following is how that conversation went: Me: Do you always treat your customers this way. Sam: What? Me: Who is your store manager. Sam: I am Me: Wow, you are the store manager. Sam: Yes, have a nice day I would not recommend this store. Drove by this place on my way for lunch. While I was in Bake Superior Bread I found this rack card…read morefor The Paper Moon and just had to go. What a nice place with woodcarving, soaps and candles, along with vintage cards and posters. Also has a variety of puzzles and books. The owner was just super nice, friendly and helpful. Today was their one year anniversary of opening and I hope they have many more to come! Will definitely be back.
