There was always so much stuff floating in the pool. It was disgusting. Over the last year it slowly improved, until one day, about a year ago, I noticed the pool was totally clean. For the first time, nothing floating in the water. These days the pool is almost always completely debris free. Even as the pool cleanliness situation improved, it seemed like nothing was ever going to be done to clean up the jacuzzi. There was a buildup of greasy grime along the waterline that looked like it had been accumulating for years. Well, on my most recent visit I noticed someone finally tried to clean up that buildup in the jacuzzi. They did a pretty respectable job, too. Still a little grimy because they waited far too long to address the issue. You can see how hard someone had to work trying to remove that buildup. In today's day and age of crowded commercial gyms and watered-down equipment, this place brings back that Golden Era feel--raw, focused, and built for people who are serious about training. No fluff, no waiting in lines for machines, just everything you could want in a gym: quality equipment, great layout, and no overcrowding. The facility is organized, efficient, and super clean, which is rare for a hardcore gym vibe like this. Every piece of equipment felt intentional and well-kept. Larry, the owner, was awesome. My fiancé and I decided to try personal training at Boss Fitness, and now we're completely hooked. The owner, Mario, is fantastic--he creates workouts that are both effective and genuinely fun. Shortly after we started, I injured my Achilles (not at the gym), and I was worried I'd have to stop training altogether. Mario was incredibly accommodating and modified everything so I could keep working out safely without making the injury worse. After years of burnout, I needed a program that would help rehabilitate my body, rebuild strength, and support hormone balance. Ella customized every training session to my needs and goals, and she was incredibly encouraging. She checked in after workouts, helped me understand my form, and supported me as my body adjusted and began the recomposition process. Her guidance made a huge difference in helping me stay consistent and prevent injury. After several months of personal training, I had the strength and confidence to join BossFit's group fitness classes, which are excellent! All the trainers are knowledgeable, motivating, and attentive. The owners, Mario and Stephanie, have clearly put a lot of care and intention into what they've co-created. I used to live near Sonora CA and the AF there was great: clean, open, and organized. Ventura AF is lacking in those areas, imo. The layout of the place is very scattered, there's no flow. It's kind of like a maze to find all the different rooms and what's in them. The equipment is fine, but definitely a downgrade compared to Sonora AF. It's a little disorganized. There's random stuff on the shelves behind the machines and in front of the purple floor area. The layout of the place goes in hand with the disorganization, it's all scattered. The one staff member I spoke with seemed nice. Both stair climbers were out of order. Not sure how long they've been like that. It's not what I'm used to, but again, could be worse.

All shapes and sizes - from beginners to serious athletes and physique competitors. Everyone seems to get along beautifully from what I can tell.
