Food and service. It needs significant improvements. I ordered 3 pupusas of bean and cheese. They didn't have any cheese.

If you're craving authentic Salvadoran comfort food made with love -- this is the spot!…read more The pupusas were perfection -- handmade, and stuffed generously with rich, savory fillings. I got the beans one, soooo good! Crispy on the outside, soft and melty on the inside... chef's kiss. Paired with the fresh cabbage salad and salsa, every bite was full of flavor. The pan con pollo was just as amazing -- tender, well-seasoned chicken with fresh veggies and bread that soaked up all the goodness. So hearty and satisfying! And don't skip the atole -- warm, comforting, and perfectly balanced. It felt like a hug in a cup You can truly taste the authenticity and care in every dish. Portions are generous, prices are great, and the overall vibe is welcoming and comforting -- like a home-cooked meal away from home. 10/10 Highly recommend if you love flavorful, authentic Salvadoran food.

The staff was also very friendly and answered all my questions without any issues when I called before placing the order. They have a lot of items on their menu that I can't wait to go back and try as well. We'll definitely be ordering from here again.

We always order at least two to eat there and at least two to take home. I will call ahead and pick them up if I am driving from the LA to Oxnard/Ventura. We always make sure to get extra crutido (pickled slaw) and salsa. I have been a loyal La Nueva Fogata customer as their pupusas have always been consistently delicious. I also like their Yucca n chicharron, and ensalada drink. My only negative is not very clean...I think this is because it is so old, but I just stay focused on how good the pupusas.

My partner and I came here at night to order four pupusas and yuca frita with chicharrón. It took 40 minutes for the food to come but it finally came out. I'm guessing the yuca frita was forgotten about in the kitchen because it arrived at the same time as our pupusas and it was lukewarm. I took the plate of yuca frita back to the waitress and explained that it was no longer hot. They put it in the microwave and then brought it back to our table. When you microwave chicharrón, it dries out so it was as if I were chewing and trying to rip apart rubber. The pupusas were freshly made but mediocre in flavor at best. The only reason I gave this a two star review was because the other clients were singing karaoke and overall setting up really good vibes and was enjoyable. But the service and food don't even deserve two stars, this was not worth $41.
