The parking lot was fairly crowded when I went here. There ample parking for bicycles as there was several bicycles parked there. Good programs going on it seems from book clubs to classes. The library fairly big. Good collection of books. I especially loved the music selection as many solid CDs across many different genres from classic albums to greatest hits collections.

A roving reference…read more The regional library at New Smyrna Beach is a large building with many of the usual amenities you would find in a library this size. Lots of books, periodicals, computers and even some very cool art and pictures. Definitely a nicely designed and very pleasant place. The library is usually crowded but since it is open and spacious that usually isn't a problem unless a group ends up standing where you happen to want to be. The parking lot is large and even though it is frequently pretty filled up you can usually find a spot. The library has lots of programs and events including book clubs, poetry readings, kid's stuff, yoga, tax advice and even some music. Definitely a very community conscious facility and not just a place for books. Because of it's large size and the amount of people running in and out, the library can't possibly have all the ambiance and warm welcoming feeling of smaller buildings. However it does have two very cool things most other libraries don't have. The first is an ocean. All right the ocean is a few miles away but it still is cool to be able to go get a book or whatever and then go down to the beach to read. The second thing is something called a roving reference. A while back a paralibrarian named Linda Dahlquist decided that some people, especially older folks and kids, might be intimidated going to a reference desk. So she got a cart, put her laptop on it and goes around asking people if they need help. A very cool idea and one of the reasons she won the 2012 paralibrarian of the year award. New Smyrna is a large very and popular library. Not much history or anything special about the architecture. However they do everything in their power to make sure every person that comes in here feels special.

The staff here is friendly. There was a couple good vegan cookbooks in the cooking section. Overall though didn't really find too many of the book selection that I was drawn to. I found the selection of CDs here a bit underwhelming. They did have more Jimmy Buffet albums than I have ever seen at a library anywhere. If you are into Jimmy Buffet go check out the Port St John Public Library as you won't be disappointed.

Parking is tricky for members of the public but there are two or three public parking lots. Please note, if you plan on visiting this library call security or campus safety and they can provide you with a parking pass. Not only is this one of the best libraries I have visited (referring to study space, staff friendliness) in the Orlando area, it is also extremely comfortable. There are tons of different, unique, and spacious chairs to use. There is a section on the 4th floor called "Tower Reading Area" this unique space is hidden and tucked away. Research projects and papers. In my last few years of high school, I volunteered after school for scholarships. It's sad to see libraries don't seem to get there level of love they used to as a public service. Thank you for the childhood memories! From balloon animal courses, fiber arts, Renaissance events, resume help, or language learning, this location has it all! Plus, the staff has always been super kind and helpful. I've personally taken a couple of foamsmithing classes where you make props for cosplay. In Foamsmithing I we made Deathstroke masks. In II we made pokeballs. Both classes were a blast and I can't wait for the next one!

Upon arriving, there was parking all around the building. After I parked, I noticed there was a round about to walk around outside and a couple spots by the ponds to read! I went inside the library, and it was very organized. Spots around downstairs and upstairs to study or read. There were private rooms for rent. For the most part, I was able to read and concentrate. However, towards the end, there were kids upstairs that were being loud and I couldn't concentrate anymore. I didn't know this library was different than the Orange County library. I thought it was the same, but thankfully, getting a new library card was simple. I found the 2 books I was looking for! There's book returns both inside and outside of the library! My favorite thing about this spot is the architecture outside!

Because of the unique architecture, there are several floors and it feels like a magical maze inside. There are small areas throught to read, explore and use your computer. There's even a little multimedia section! There is also a special events center next door, connected by a little patio area. The staff here are so helpful and friendly! The location is so bright and clean that you can't help but feel happy the moment you walk in! Happy adventures to you!!

I liked the paintings here & some classic old maps of interest of FL such as the Everglades. I feel the items here aren't as smart as the Cocoa Beach library. I didn't find the new books, CDs, or DVDs to be that interesting. The travel guide books were quite dated as many were 2005 or so meaning over a decade old. I did find the cookbooks here to be quite alright as they had many solid vegan, vegetarian, & plant based cookbooks along w/ an eclectic array of other classic cookbooks from various other cuisines of the world. By far the cookbooks here are the best thing going for this library. Good thing you can order items from any of the other libraries to be picked up here.

Upon arriving, the kids section is on your immediate right. Considering how small the library is the children's section was well stocked with books and puzzles and they even had a summer scavenger hunt throughout the library with printed out pictures. The price of course was a sticker. Will definitely return on my next visit to Sanford.

How about some light reading on univariate polynomial equations, Hagen-Poisealle flow or kinematic viscosity? Well this is your place. The Jack Hunt Memorial Library is actually part of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University but is open to the public. You can even get a special library card and take the books out. Just about every geeky book even written is in here. Besides the incredible assortment of geeky books, the library is actually quite lovely. Lots of nice and comfy places to sit and very cool pictures and posters of airplanes as well as a whole bunch of model airplanes from different time periods. They even have a real glider hanging from the ceiling. No doubt what this place is about, the very cool geekiness is literally dripping off the walls. No, you won't find many mushy books or best sellers here but it you ever have a sudden desire to review some fiendishly difficult non linear differential equations, this is your place.
