I enjoyed going to this library branch when I was younger…read more When I registered to vote, this was the location we would go to after the Herndon branch closed. I didn't really go to this location to borrow books or anything, but it was nice to visit!

I'm a huge library nerd. Always have been since elementary school when my dad first took me to the…read moremassive South Beach library on 14th street (It's no longer there anymore :( ) and that day, I checked out the book limit which was 20 books. Did I read all the books? No, but as a 7-year-old who hardly went out anywhere, that place was paradise. That's why the public library system is such a valuable asset; especially where children are involved. It keeps them out of trouble and in a place where they can actually learn something. Fast forward to many years later and my heart still skips a beat whenever I enter a Library. This Library in particular is small when compared to other libraries in central Florida, but it's also one of the newer ones so it's clean, well kept, and has a Lab room, but also a Technology room should you sign up for one of their courses. Which by the way is completely free. I try to take advantage of that when I can, just the other day I took a: "How to make a book charm class", and it was a delightful experience. I've seen that you can even learn how to program video games if you wish to go down that avenue, or if you wanted to, you could sign up to become familiar with various computer programs, even how to build a web-site, all free, why would you not take advantage of that? Other than books, you are able to check out DVD's and movies here as well. The staff is super friendly here, definitely will be back.

To the young lady who I disturbed trying to have a very quiet Zoom call, I'm sorry. You're right -…read morethat is the "reading room" and my voice carries even when I'm trying to keep it low. Fortunately, I was able to evacuate and found a FANTASTIC spot in the courtyard that was not only comfortable, but there were power outlets within reach. Laptopping from outside? Bonus! This is a large library with lots of space. There several different quiet areas though none that were "okay to talk" areas. Lots and lots of books of all sorts, plenty of parking and many comfortable spaces. If you're a train fan, the Amtrak rail goes right past. Fun to watch the train going through here. I've finally made it over to this library and I must say that I was quite impressed with it…read moreespecially given its small size. Initially, I went over to use the computer systems to print a few documents and to scan and email a few documents. It was easy to access the computers and get everything completed. There is a small quite study area tucked away in the back. I was able to easily connect to the internet and get a few things accomplished. On another visit, I returned with a group, and we used the meeting room up from. The group had to set up and put up the tables and chairs - it was easy to do and there was plenty of equipment for our needs. Overall, I like this little library. I'm glad that it is here.

The Alafaya Branch of the Orange County Library System is on East Colonial Drive (State Road 50)…read more just east of where East Colonial Drive intersects with Alafaya Trail and is overall a decent Library, though a lot smaller than their downtown location. It is good seeing that libraries are still a thing, especially since we have sp much available through our phones and the internet. I have so many great memories of libraries in my childhood and it was nice walking through this Library and remembering those carefree days. For a Tuesday afternoon, it had a decent amount of people here. All in all, a good library.

The facilitator provided the pens and templates that you could use to make designs on the tote. It was nice to meet other people from the community and the ambiance was fun and relaxed. I made a bag with flowers on it and a saying, "You're Doing Great Sweetie!" Because one of my coworkers tells me that all the time like a half joke/half serious. Sometimes you gotta get through the day. I gave the bag to said coworker, which made us both laugh. Hope you try out a class at the library! It's a lot of fun and you just have to sign up on line! Enjoy the photo!
