I went to Mimi's to get a wig because I have cancer that has metastasized, and I once again am on chemo and losing my hair. I was specific with my sales associate that I wanted a low density, no permatease wig. She showed me a few wigs and I ended up getting one that I asked her about that I had seen online. I pretty much pick out my own wig and did not get much help from the sales associate. I could have done all of this online and saved alot of money. Not too impressed with the service. read more

Way over priced!! Bought a wig from this boutique and later saw the same wig for a whole lot less. The wig I went there for (Seville by Noriko) wasn't in their stock so the woman placed the order and told me the price was $232.00. Happy to say I found that wig for $139 at another boutique. I was disappointed in my visit to Mimi's Wigs. The person who waited on me was not a warm and friendly person. She went through all the steps of helping me find a wig but she just did not come across as caring. This is why I am giving Mimi's a 3 star rating. I went to LC Wigs later that day and I was treated so much better. The owner at LC Wigs waited on me and it was a wonderful experience. We talked about what kind of wig I wanted and the color I wanted. She pulled about 5 wigs that met my criteria and helped me to try them on. For some of them my color was not in stock. then she found other wigs from that manufacturer in my color for me to try on to make sure I liked the color. Took my MIL to get a wig, she is losing hair due to chemo, the ladies here are soooo helpful. They understand why you're there, supportive and made my MIL comfortable with the idea of wearing a wig. We had the option of having a wig from another store covered by insurance, but the quality of the wig we got from Mimi's brought us back to pay for the wig that she will wear everyday. Never having worn a wig before I was loaded with questions. I ended up being helped by Misty. What an education I received. She was so tolerant in addressing every question I had and even enlightened me with answers to questions I never asked. If I could give zero stars, I would. After a lot of trepidation about going and buying synthetic hair, I decided on Mimi's because it was close to my house and had decent reviews. I walked in about 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. They had a customer already being fitted for a wig so I decided to look around their boutique area. A sales lady immediately came up to me and seemed quite irritated that I was there. It made me wonder if it was "appointment only" but it wasn't...and it was before COVID. She hurriedly asked me what I wanted and I enquired about a hair topper and not a wig. She then rolled her eyes and said, "NO. We do not have those." as she is LITERALLY ushering me to the door! At the door, I squeezed in only one of my many questions I wanted to ask--"Do you know of any places that do sell hair toppers?" She harshly replied "No." then opened the door for me to leave. As I was essentially kicked out I thought to myself I was glad I didn't want to purchase anything from their boutique! Now, I am a 55 year old woman who was looking for fake hair for my thinning head so I wasn't feeling so epic about myself. One would think that someone who worked in the wig industry would know that there is a huge psychological element here and would show some shred of kindness toward an obvious newbie. I got a little teary eyed driving away and ended up buying a topper online. I will never step foot in this store again and will NEVER recommend them. I went into Mimi's Wigs to look into getting a wig for performances (I'm a musician) for those times when my hair is not cooperating. I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at how normal the whole experience was. The attendants there are wonderful. They put me at ease and told me to look at all the wigs on display, to pick my favorite ones, and they would help me try them on. The wigs they have on display often come in many different hair shades. I ended up liking two different wigs so I bought them both. One wig was $200 and the other was around $190. My partner also bought a wig and her's was about $180. In all, we spent a little over $600. Before we left, I had them trim the bangs on one of my wigs and it made a huge difference regarding my comfort level. They said wig trimming is free anytime I need to come in and have an adjustment made. Finally, after we left Mimi's wigs, my partner and I went shopping at Northpark Mall to try our wigs out on the general public. The wigs must have helped us with our image because we feel like we were given better service at various shops and we think it might be because our new wigs make us look more "maintained." If you are thinking about getting a wig, Mimi's Wigs is a comfortable place with kind salespeople.. Yes, a wig is an investment but honestly, I've spent more on a single hair salon experience than I did for one wig. Gently the associate inquired what my needs were and made me feel much more at ease than I had been. She allowed me to choose whatever wigs I was interested in, and then she put them on for me. My mother was diagnosed with cancer and was in need of a wig. She was the first in our family and circle of friends to ever need a wig so we were at a loss as to where to go. I googled wigs and Mimi's immediately came up first and after reading their website, I was put at ease by the sheer amount of information and knowledge I received. When you are totally in the dark about the situation you are in and don't know the first thing about what you are doing, it is a blessing to find a business that is more concerned about educating people about wigs than "selling" them on their website. I made a list of about 4 different wig stores and loaded up my mother and my niece and we set out early Tuesday. We picked Mimi's first because it frankly looked like they had been around the longest and were most impressive at first glance. When we got there and walked in the door it was completely overwhelming, but not in a bad way. By my estimation there were probably well over 100 different styles on the walls in a variety of colors. The lady that greeted us explained what we needed to keep in mind and gave us the opportunity to pick out the things that my mother wanted to try on without standing over us and making us feel like we were being rushed. Needless to say, what started out as a bleak and overwhelming task turned out to be a blessing. We all talked and even laughed as every one of them took the time to make us feel at ease and answer all of our questions. All in all I would say we were there well over 2 hours. They even cut the wig on my mother and styled it to fit her just like her own hair! She found everything she needed and even bought some cute hats to wear also. Needless to say it was our first and ONLY stop! I read the negative review and frankly was shocked as I can't imagine the employees I met (3 of them as well) could ever be as rude as that. I have NOTHING but positive to say about our experience and would recommend ANYONE that needed a wig to go to Mimi's. My first visit and they were fantastic. I was very emotional but they were very kind and took plenty of time to walk me through everything. I'm thrilled with the one I chose, it is the same style that I used to wear. I have had friends comment that it looks very natural. It will take some getting used to, as I've lost so much of my natural hair, it is odd to see a full head of hair! I highly recommend visiting them, even if you are just thinking about getting a wig. Went there with my daughter to see about a wig didn't know much about wigs but the sales lady Marcie was very helpful in showing us what she thought would look best and then we pick out some and had a good laugh on how some looked on me. I have always worn my hair very short and now that I am going through chemo all my hair is coming out. I didn't buy a wig today because I wanted to think about if that was what I really wanted or not, I did buy a cute hat and a turban. Came here to find a short pixie cut wig for a custom, their selection of short wigs is not so impressive, I eventually found one, very very cheap and fake looking and paid approx 30$ I personally thought it's outrageous for this type of cheap wig, if your looking to buy a wig as part of a custom, maybe it's better to go ahead and look at eBay or amazon for cheaper alternatives. read more

After seeing Mimi's Wig Boutique on YouTube I knew I had to check it out. Fortunately even though I live in South Carolina, I have family living in the Dallas area. On a recent trip there I called and made an appointment for a consultation. So happy to report it was everything I thought it would be. Super friendly and caring staff. Their new store is spacious and lovely. The stylist helping me was Marcia. (I very rarely meet someone with my same name spelled my way!) She asked about my situation (alopecia) and quickly went about gathering lots of wigs for me to try out. They have a huge inventory so it was wonderful to be able to try on different styles, colors, and brands. The whole experience helped me to see what brands fit me well. There was no pressure to make a purchase. I did, however, walk out with two new wigs that I know I will love wearing. I would never have chosen either of the styles from looking at them online! I have grown weary of ordering from online retailers and having to send back what I don't want. Being able to see, feel, and try-on beforehand was great! Returned today for my second purchase! Kim communicated with me and ordered a wig for me that was just like the one I bought last summer. However, there was NO fee to special order and NO pressure to buy that wig. She also didn't make me feel rushed like some salons do. I was able to take my time and try on anything I wanted. She also had several ideas of other wigs for me to try once she got an idea of what I liked. This is a very friendly place. If you are anxious about your first purchase, you will feel such love here. They make the scary process of a first wig purchase SO much easier! While I was there, other customers came in and I was able to observe how Kim and the stylist (I'm sorry I can't remember her name, but she works magic with scissors!) interacted with them. The staff was wonderfully patient, kind, and helpful. They were warm and gave my mother some wonderful tips, taking plenty of time to make sure she was happy and comfortable.
