TK Maxx is the British equivalent of TJ Maxx in the United States. Like every other TJ or TK Maxx,…read moreyou have to have time to browse for hidden gems. On the day we went, the store wasn't very organized and the lines were long. However, if you're flying in and leave something, this is the place you go to find anything you may need while in London. I was a bit disappointed, as this seems like a nice area of town and I expected to see more high-end merchandise. This store has the same items as every other similar store in the US and the ones I've visited in other countries. The canned drinks near the registers are cheaper than restaurants and corner stores, so we got a few for our walk back to the hotel.

Having Winners being my favorite in Canada, I was elated to realize the company is in the UK also. So I did exactly what I do best and went into the shop to help settle into my new home. Did the most part, there's a huge selection of bathroom supplies. Literally 1/5th of the store. Shampoos, conditioners, body care, makeup. The whole nine. You'll surely find something. Clothing on the other hand is really a depressing thought. I've been here 4 times now and already I haven't found a single clothing article worth a second glare. Maybe is the pandemic that's cause everything to run dry, but it was quite a disappointing couple of experiences. The staff are super helpful and pretty much willing to accommodate any way they can. Some of the employees do have staring eyes (for some random reason. At least be sure to blink) But oh well.

Date: August 28, 2026…read more Experience: My mom and I got here about 10 minutes before closing time because she wanted me to get a glimpse of what this place looked like and this was the only time we could get before setting of for our set tour. With the little amount of time we were there, I could see how this place is so popular with the luxury goods, food offerings, and the picturesque decor when traversing the main floor. There was still a good amount of people walking around either browsing or shopping and even some people came in later than us to check Harrods out I would definitely want to make an effort to check out this place to its full extent and to check out their food cause they had a section of just cheeses that I would love to try in the future.

Literally, I wanted to buy a Harrods keychain with a cheeky saying on it. Trying to find a keychain in a department store this big is truly trying to find a needle in a haystack. Nothing made me feel more poor than wandering through wings of luxury products looking for a ... keychain. There are four notable things about Harrods that make this a must-visit. First is the over-the-top Egyptian decor, which is most notable around the main escalators. Second is the food hall, which has so many enticing things that are all reasonably priced. It's fun just to walk around and peek at the displays. Third is the Harrod's Gift Shop (Lower Ground floor), which is where I eventually found the Harrods branded keychain with the cheeky saying. Fourth, they currently have a Jellycat Airline display. We couldn't get in because there was a convoluted way to get a ticket, which you could only do at a designated entry way and wait in a long line. It was both immensely interesting and exhausting to have visited Harrods.

One of my absolute favorite places to shop when in London. I'll never pass up a chance to trek down…read moreto Carnaby street as the shopping and dining options are elite. For any one of my friends traveling into London I always recommend veering off a little to Carnaby. Over the years some shops have come and go but some of my favorites remain open. I'm a huge Great Frog lover and their shop is nearby, also for us rock n rollers I can't help stopping into The Rolling Stones Uk store. Lots of major branded stores but also cute local vendors and stores. It's a very walkable street and safe. Plenty busy so come earlier in the day to beat the crowds. Another pro tip is catching a reservation at dishshoom down here as I've found it easier to snag a reservation here than at their other locations. Plenty of dining options though and local stalls like Starbucks and Joe & the juice. It's a touristy street of shops but I love it - definitely bookmark this area on your must shop / see list when on this side of town.

After having a tasty snack at Pizza Pilgrims, went to the two story Rolling Stones store which was my favorite place on Carnaby Street. A bunch of boutique shops and found one bathroom and a drinking fountain. There was an old English style red phone booth containing an unspeakable object on the floor inside, good conversation piece for the rest of my trip. Welcome to London.

The owners Sparkle & Cad are very friendly and knowledgeable, and are always happy to help if you're looking for something special. Everything they sell is hand picked, so you know there aren't going to be rails of dubious looking stock like you find in so many vintage shops nowadays. If you're looking for authentic clothing and accessories then it doesn't get better than this: everything in here is a gem! Happily there's also something for every budget, as they have a discounted section upstairs. The main floor is pricier - but worth it.

Hats, shoes, dresses, amazing pieces from 1920's-1970's, especially their 1940's/1950's collections... late 1930's Garbo hat from Ninotchka, Marilyn dress, the most amazing 1950's earrings and gloves (and I've been collecting these for some years now and they have wonderful choice) all in perfect condition and one off's! I seriously wish that shop was my cupboard... Sparkle and Cad, the owners of the place are uber friendly and all you have to do is ask and they will tell you all about the designers, eras of the items...you'll really feel million dollars to wear a dress which was worn by a Hollywood starlet of a very famous movie sometime in 1956!!! Marilyn dress is pricey but a wonderful find for a collector.. there is something for everyone and you can certainly find a bargain (especially in Hell to Pay upstairs) too (also get your self on their mailing list and see when they have a sale or special deals!)..and another thing you'll never know who you might see in there (Kate Moss,Whoopee Goldberg,Immodesty Blaize,Duffy,Paloma Faith,Eva Green, Sharleen Spiteri, to name just a few!!). The Market is picturesque with lovely flower carts by the entrances. Historically, Covent Gardens were the gardens for the convent. Today, the beautiful enclosed market hosts various vendors that change regularly. The market is a great way to connect with locals. We went to the market four times during our visit. On Sundays, various art vendors set up and we visited with a local fossil dealer and purchased a couple fossils. We loved our dinner in one of the nearby cafes. On Mondays, antique dealers set up and sell various treasures. My husband bought me a vintage bracelet. We also watched a quintet play in the atrium. We found a few reasonably priced souvenirs to take home for gifts. Plenty of great restaurants surround the Market. We ate at several places and enjoyed our meals. The Market always seems to be new and people were friendly.
