Iced caramel latte and half a cinnamon bun (I was hungry!!)
Gabi H.

The service here was great, both of the baristas were kind and helpful and patient. They also spoke both English and Spanish. The bun I had was great, and my latte is yummy! Not too sweet and can taste both the espresso and caramel. There is some seating to read a book or just take a break. I'm so glad I found this spot in Washington Heights!

Great location! Right in front of the bus stop! Came in to get something hot to drink, the fall weather is changing it was getting a lil cooler outside and the bus was taking a long time to come. Decided to get me a gingerbread latte. It was good, not the best I had, but served its purpose. I normally carry a biscotti everywhere with me, its small and portable and goes with any hot drink. It went well with my latte. This place is small and although they do have counter space, you are not allowed to stay to drink or eat anything inside at this particular time. The server was nice but I could tell their was a language barrier between us too. Someone inside the shop was able to translate so it was all good.I probably would never visit here again but never say never and like I I said it's in front of a bus stop! That alone should bring them some service. It's was clean inside and they have food options and pastry.

Whenever I'm in Harlem, I find my way to Lucille's. At this point, I barely look at the menu…read morebecause my order is set: the kale salad with grilled chicken, one guava waffle with guava rum butter, and a brown sugar latte. Yes, a kale salad and a guava waffle. Stay with me. The salad is fresh, savory, and hearty, especially with the grilled chicken. Then comes the waffle--warm, slightly sweet, and topped with guava rum butter that melts into every little pocket. Oh my goodness. Taking a bite of the savory chicken and kale, followed by that soft guava waffle, gives me the perfect sweet-and-savory meal. It should not work as beautifully as it does, but it absolutely does. And the brown sugar latte? Always. It's smooth, comforting, and sweet without tasting like someone poured syrup into a cup and called it coffee. The space has the easy, unhurried feeling of a neighborhood coffee shop, but the menu is giving a real brunch experience. It's cozy and beautifully lit during the day--the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy yourself without feeling rushed. The service matches that energy. Everyone is attentive, kind, and genuinely knows the menu. They always greet you with a smile and give you exactly the right amount of small talk: enough to make you feel welcomed, never so much that it interrupts your peace. The atmosphere, the people, and that guava rum butter keeps me coming back.

STOP LOOKING. ORDER FROM LUCILLE'S RIGHT NOW…read more The pizza is truly remarkable. The crust is perfectly crispy with a fluffy center. The toppings and combos are delicious. Make your own if you're not feeling theirs. It's worth it. Also writing this review because they are just quality people. I ordered a vegan pizza with some toppings but wanted pepperoni and that wasn't an option. I made a note asking if a substitution was possible, knowing it likely wasn't because of a price difference. I'm not vegan, but I needed a dairy-free alternative since I am breastfeeding a baby with a cow milk protein intolerance. The LOADED up my pizza. Truly stand-up humans. Thanks, Lucille's, if you're reading this: you made my night!

Dutch Baby is one of my favorite spots in NYC. This bakery is fantastic and such a nice space to…read morevisit. The food is fresh (unlike some 'bakeries' everything here is baked on the premises), so there's always something delicious to try: scones, special breads (their pumpkin bread is incredible in Autumn), cakes or pies--the pies in particular often need to be specially ordered, but it's worth it--they're my favorite in the city! (Plus the bakery's owners opened the charming Fountain Bookshop just down the block, which also serves amazing ice cream.) The service is just as nice as the baked goods: staff are approachable, friendly, hardworking and kind-- even when its very busy, they never seem stiff or shut down w/overwork like staff at chain/corporate-owned restaurants can be (they also seem to appreciate a genuine thank you from customers). I've never received or even witnessed poor service there. While the baked goods are the main draw, the cafe has a full menu and the space itself is warm & open: a smaller dining area tucked on one side, a large space in the center filled with tables, and a generous bank of stools at the large glass storefront for work or study, plus a few self-service tables on the sidewalk. Dutch Baby is a space clearly beloved by its neighbors--while popular with families and childcare workers w/their charges after school, it never gets too raucous. There's floor space for both wheelchairs and strollers (while the main entry has a few shallow steps, a second door in the middle of the cafe provides accessible entry for those using wheelchairs). It's really a truly lovely spot!

The service was slow and unremarkable. The server had to read the menu several times to answer our…read morequestions about the dishes. After a very, very, very long wait with no visit from the server or attention from anyone, our dishes finally came out. The food was cold and bland, and my husband's dish had a large black human hair. It was nauseating. Our brunch was ruined. A neighborhood place we have thought of stopping by for a while. We will never stop by again. The card shop next-door was cute and well worth the trip. The food not so much.

The service from both the chef and the bartender was warm, welcoming, and genuine. The ambience is quaint and inviting. I actually changed my mind last minute and chose this spot over two other restaurants I was considering--and I'm so glad I did. The food and the rum punch were so good that we drove back from New Jersey the very next night just to try more from the menu. The oxtails, curry chicken, and brown stew fish were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The rice and peas were flavorful and cooked to perfection. When we dined in, every patron who walked in ended up joining in conversation like we'd all known each other for years. The energy, the vibes, and the bartender made my entire night. This is the first time I've ever walked out of a bar alongside both the staff and the patrons. Anytime I visit NYC from Texas, Blue Mountain is officially on my must-visit list. Highly recommend! *I ate my meal too fast. Forgot to take pics*
