Be Very Careful. Chris P. at Mills is awful. I have been with them for over 10 years and I can no longer recommend that agency. Mills was taken over by Acrisure and you will receive no customer service. In the event of a claim you are in trouble. My claim has been going on for 4 months. (prior to the tropical storm) In the last 2 years Mills changed my insurance carrier to Mercury Insurance. Do not insure with Mercury. They have the worst reputation for claims. They are deceitful and try every tactic to not pay on portions of your claim. I now may be forced to hire a private adjuster. Look at the time of the other reviews. I had my insurance with Mill's for about a year or two I think. At first it was good I got my quote and my insurance coverage really quick. But when I had an issue with something on my policy I called and expexted to talk to the person who sold me the coverage but the operator kept pushing me to someone else. I told her I would wait on hold but she was a little rude and put me on hold. This happened each time I called, seemed very unprofessional to say the least. They also have helped me on the phone often. Prices are good. Usually Mercury or Safeco has been my car insurance provider. Worst insurance company EVER! I had insurance with them for years on my Toyota and used to cringe whenever I had to go there. They make you wait forever, and there is no one person assigned to you and your policy. So, as a consequence, no one is familiar with you and your policy. I also did not care for the attitudes of most of the agents, who seemed to be a little snide and smug, and made me feel as though I was bothering them. They also did not seem very knowledgeable, as well as not very accommodating. The receptionist, however, was the exception. She was very kind. The last straw was when I moved to a higher end area. I figured this would lower my monthly payments. When I gave them the new address and asked how much it would be, one of their smug agents informed me that "it would depend" and abruptly ended the call. I tried to call back to see if I would be informed of the amount before it was automatically deducted from my bank account and could not get them on the phone again. I was not informed, so I never had the opportunity to accept or decline the payment. The next thing I knew, a larger amount had been deducted for a nicer area! This does not make sense to me. So, I gave them some of their own medicine. I stopped the automatic payments through my bank without explanation to Mills and refuse to pay an amount to which I never agreed. They never even had me sign anything! That is not how I or anyone should do business. My car was added on to a relative's insurance for only $10 more a month. Now, I am happy. Mills in Palm Desert is the worst. read more

I've been with this insurance company for years and every year I swear I am going to switch. My assigned insurance agent doesn't know who I am, is disrespectful, won't personally return my calls and on the rare occasion that I do get to speak with him, he promises to call that afternoon with new quotes for my ever increasing rate on multiple policies....but a week later and still nothing! I should have taken my clue when I asked to meet my rep and personally introduce myself at a business function years ago and he didn't have the common decency to pretend to know I was his client, talk to me or even thank me. They do not go out of their way to keep up on insurance needs over the years and recommend what is in the clients best interest. In spite of their impressive advertising, nice marketing efforts and smooth talking....I recommend steering clear of Mills Insurance. read more
