Very highly recommend! We've been through highs and lows with our pets recently--we adopted a new puppy and lost our cat of 18 years, Olivia. We've seen Dr. Hasemann several times over the last few months, and she has been really wonderful in both these happy and sad times. She was very kind and patient with us, answering all of our (many) questions. She knew that we were concerned about veterinary expenses, so took her time to break down different care options and costs to give us an accurate estimate and help us make the best choices for our pets. She helped us say goodbye to a cherished member of our family with grace and compassion, and I will always be grateful for this. The office staff are also fantastic, have always been friendly and responsive, and have gone out of their way to be accommodating with appointments and return calls quickly. Finding another vet for my dog. If you need good front desk support this isn't the place for you. You pay enough to bring your loved pet in and you should be treated like more than a business. Today I was running behind due to a work call, I gave them the courtesy of a phone call. I only live a few minutes away. I was told to reschedule four days out. I've already waited days for this appointment. This is non emergent appointment but my dog is uncomfortable so I'm finding a new vet. read more

My parents brought our family golden retriever here for his entire lifespan (almost 18 years!) and we never had a problem. I recently got a puppy of my own and have had only good experiences. Dr.Cochran was great and very thorough during our first appointment and she suggested a great positive-reinforcement training center (Masterpeace in Frankling). Dr. Flessas spent a long time speaking with me about my puppy's diet and food choices after a bout of diarrhea and I was very impressed by how much time she spent going into details with me. Dr. Detolla took care of her spaying and the scar healed fabulously! The front desk staff are always jolly and have been nothing, but kind and patient with us. They even offered to petsit my pup when they heard I had to go to a wedding. They truly care about my dog's well-being. I only take off one star because the services are quite expensive once all the charges are added up. My friend has had good experiences with Banfield so I may look into that since so far the insurance plans I've compared didn't make much sense financially. read more

Costly. Our cat presented with coughing symptoms. 17.5 years old. Only the x-ray was run and the cat is under 7 lbs. It costs $564 for the chest x-ray with office visit. Little costly, but at least they did not recommend any unnecessary tests. Vet is empathic and realistic. We were lucky to have good staff on that day. read more

I really don't understand the reviews on here. I had a totally poor experience here. They are more concerned about earning money than taking care of animals. I had to take my dog to the vet for an ulcer in his eye. After the first visit, I got charged $277.00 for the visit and meds. When I checked online the meds, I found out they were only $10.00. "If you go here, ask for a prescription, or you'll get gouged on the prices". Before I went to them, I asked them about the pricing and they said it was only going to be $66.00 for the checkup. They started adding charges without confirming pricing with me first and then, they gave me my wonderful bill and told me to give the medication for a week and return for a follow-up in a week. On returning for the follow-up visit, I had an emergency and arrived ten minutes late. I was told by the staff that the doctor wasn't in, (that shocked me) because, I could see the doctor in the office through the windows as she ran to the back to hide. When I questioned them, they reluctantly helped me while scolding me for being late and they made an "exception". Finally, they did nothing. They told me to go see an Ophthalmologist because my dog's eyes were not healing and to top that off, they didn't have any referrals for me. She explained that all ophthalmologists were booked out about 3 to 4 weeks. (What was I to do?) and the icing on the cake!!!! They wanted to charge me for the follow-up visit. Since when do you charge for a follow-up? They talk down to people, scold them, and then charge them what they want. The manager called me the next day to complain to me for getting upset with her staff. I've never heard of such a thing in my life. I thought she might be calling to offer an apology but then told me, I can never go back there because she didn't like how "I" treated her staff. All I did was question their practices and fees. So go figure. If you don't bend over and accept their treatment, they don't want your business. read more

And, unlike vets who may be great with animals and not with people, she is a gem. Prices are reasonable, wait time for an appointment is short. When I have needed copies of vaccines, they have faxed them to me in minutes! Most importantly, my dog loves the vet here! read more

This place was great. We brought out two cats for a visit here last week and we have never had a better experience at the vet. The woman at the front desk greeted is as soon as we walked in (which is always a good start to any visit). Then when we did finally see the vet she was very nice and diligent in answering any questions that we had without making us sound like idiots for asking and not already knowing. They handled out pets with care and didn't even mind it when one of our little guys decided that he wanted to sit on their paperwork. We were so relieved and impressed, coming in as "transplants" from California, to meet Dr. Nord and her lovely team, who all came into the exam room to help my little 15/16 year old bichon rescue mix, who can hardly stand. Dr. Nord had taken the time to go over my dog's background information beforehand, took a good look, and immediately gave us lots of very useful / practical and compassionate advice. We left with a plan and gratitude, no matter how things end up for our little one, as her days are probably numbered. But we know we can count on Millis Animal Hosp. to be there as needed. I took my 12 yr old golden to see Dr. Flessas a few months ago for a second opinion which my nephew highly recommended her. Honestly, I don't want to sound rude but wasn't very impressed. She seemed very indifferent with me and I didn't really get a good feel for her. I had an incident with the vet we normally go to and was told my Golden's kidney enzymes had doubled since last seen in Feb., and I didn't like how this other vet was handling the situation so I wanted to go back to see dr. Flessas and give her a second chance. I asked if I could talk to her first since I was very upset. I was told she was in surgery all day and probably wouldn't hear back that day. I thought the following day I would, but didn't. I then called back and said I just want to schedule an appt & was told she's booking out in September. I asked, doesn't she have any emergency openings? and I was told by the front desk, they would ask the technician & call me back. I didn't hear from them the whole day. I called back & was told, They had no openings and with the new symptoms to go to Tufts. I felt she didn't want us as patients. Luckily, the other place my golden was going to finally gave me antibiotics and my girl is doing better. I'm very disappointed Dr. Flessas wouldn't see us as an emergency. That's just very unfortunate & unacceptable. I don't recommend her at all read more

I honestly can't give enough stars for Millis Animal hospital and Dr. Johnson! I had never been here before, but called in a panic because they are right up the street and something was definitely wrong with my dog. They got me in the same morning and were just so kind and loving to both the pup and myself! Long story short, they ran bloodwork right there and within 10 minutes we had our Lyme disease diagnosis. In less than 40 minutes time we were in and out with medications in hand, this is without a doubt my new vet for both dogs!!! read more

Cari Hiler and her staff are absolutely fantastic. We've been bringing our dog there from the time he was eight weeks old! They are always patient, take enough time to talk to you, and give great advice. We recently had an emergency situation with our dog and Cari and her staff were EXCELLENT. They were supportive all the way around and very understanding ... we forgot our dog leash in the rush to the Animal Hospital and they gave us one of their spares ... so sweet and nice. They went out of their way to copy *all* of our dogs records for us and even gave us directions to a 24 hour emergency animal hospital if we needed it. Even got a "thank-you" card in the mail from their office recently! Wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. read more

We have been long time clients of Millis Animal Hospital (2 dogs over the course of about 18 years). We have been through several vets there, and many nurses and have always been pleased. The staff has always been great, but since the last staff turnover we have noticed small things we were not pleased with. This past weekend was the straw that broke the back!! Our current dog (a chocolate lab) got into some D-Con this past weekend and we had to take him to the emergency Tufts facility in Walpole. He is doing well and needs follow up blood work for 4 days following the emergency visit. Tufts quoted us $60 per blood test, but said we could see our regular vet if we preferred. Monday morning I called Millis Animal Hospital and explained the situation and asked for appointments for his blood work. I asked how much it would be and the receptionist told me that she would not know until the doctor did the draw and the test - I explained that Tufts was $60 and I was expecting their charge to be similar - she did not express otherwise. Well, it was NOT! They charged us $165 for ONE test, after the fact! They did NOT tell us ahead of time that the text was nearly 3x the amount (remember, this needs to be done 4 days in a row). I called and spoke to the receptionist, who referred me to the doctor. The doctor than said that I had to speak to the office manager, Courtney. The next day I spoke to Courtney, and after a series of discussions and calls, was told that that was their price and that was that. She did explain that as a smaller facility they did not have the flexibility with these types of tests to keep the costs down - okay, that makes sense. But with an unhappy customer, one that has been a happy and loyal client for 18 years, why wouldn't you offer some sort of solution? Especially since I explained that I was NOT told of the HUGE cost difference ahead of time, and was made to believe it would be comparable. Nope, nothing. This is not a smart way to run a business. We are changing vets immediately. (BTW, I have two other friends who have already, long before this situation, left this facility. One because they recommended unnecessary surgery for their dog - that is what they found out when they sought a second opinion with the desire to find a lower cost option. The other friend left just because of the small things I mentioned at the beginning of this post.) Bottomline, avoid Millis Animal Hospital!! read more
