It's your stereotypical Army Surplus store, with a range of rather pricey survival esque gear. They sell gore text jackets and pants, waterproofs, camping stoves, knives, camo piant, cooking materials and fire lighting equipment, books on survival, compasses..The list goes on. They're very helpful in here and I would recommend going for a browse if you're facing any extreme weather conditions or if you need a tent or if you're joining the army! They seem to be doing well in the face of the recession which is always nice to see when it's a shop that people could probably boycott for the likes of Aldi,B and M and of course,, the internet.

Well Im now retired and dont need the butty bag anymore but I do have a hobby and dont laugh cos its Metal detecting ! (magic Hobby), I now live in Runcorn the costa del sol of Cheshire and whilst havine a run around last week I spotted the heswall Army and Navy Stores !! , I went in and looked about then bought a couple of items right away , the Service and help was magic ( service is something you dont normally get these days) . Later that week I went onto the site for the shop on the Net and saw more items that I wanted so placed an order on line , three days later they were delivered (Magic) . Been in here a couple off time it a fairly big place and it a very good camping shop…read more I went in a couple off days ago to buy a new coat and because I could not find what I wanted a nice young lady came over to me and went out off way to help me find what I was looking it was just a pitty they dident have my size with the coat I wanted and in my price range. They have a outdoor area were you can go out and have a look at all the tents took me back when I use go camping. They even sell a lot of range of bikes nw the staff are very friendly and very very helpful.

Great one stop shop for pretty much all major out door activities. Good range of equiptment, well…read morepriced and helpful staff on hand to assist you. They have a cycle surgery for maintainance and repairs to bikes. Good range of footwear and kit for the snow. It's a good idea to call ahead should you be after something specific just to check it's in stock.

I bet you a tenner however, that their most regular customers are more likely to be students looking for bargain priced army jackets than adventurers planning trips into the wilderness. For those that like to spend their weekends alone in the middle of nowhere however, the shop sells everything from rucksacks, sleeping bags and cooking stoves to balaclavas, camaflouge trousers and army helmets. In true Deliverance style, they also sell torches, rope and pen knives.

Camping furniture, outdoor clothing, large choice of sleeping bags for juniors and adults. Also reading matter in regards to walks etc.. ( over priced as is most of the things in this store unfortunately ). I feel that Outdoor World is going to be wiped out in Warrington after this GO Outdoors has been opened, it just cant match up to the sheer size and stock of this place. At the check out I was over-charged which I questioned, the check-out attendant told me that was what was coming through on the till so I paid I then went back to the area I picked my item from to see the labels and I was in fact correct at the price I thought it was. I asked a member of staff and they sorted it out for me and gave me the refund of the difference. Took a bit of time but still it was done without question. Proves its always good to double check if you are not sure you have been charged correctly. Floor staff really helpful and friendly. Check-out staff not as helpful, could have called a manager after I queried the price but I had to go and look for myself. Over-all though good shop if you have lots of cash to spend clothing seemed very expensive! You can buy a discount card for £5 a year. Gets you money off items, actually its a pretty good deal, example a £35 sleeping bag.. £29.99 with card. Discount depends on the original cost of the item. Worth getting if you are buying a lot or go often. It can make you a bit annoyed if you don't want the discount card to see how much less they can sell items for than the retail price you have to pay without a card.. seeing as the stuff is pretty pricey already. Get the card if buying over £40 of stuff as it already pays for itself and is handy for the future. (GO Outdoors need to pay me commission for that discount card advertisement haha ) 4 stars for amount of things in the store loses 1 star for being too expensive for most things.
