I haven't darkened the door of this Miller's Ale House location in years. After my most recent experience I doubt I'll walk through those doors again. I walked in at exactly 9:30 and walked out at 9:45. (They are allegedly open until 12am - they packed it in much earlier.) I thought I'd grab a steak and enjoy Miller's propensity to stay open until midnight while throwing them some business. I figured this would be a choice option. The host first took me to a booth only to tell me actually no this is closed. He led to me another booth where I sat and perused the menu. A few minutes later a server came over to tell me actually this whole section is closed and she was about to end her shift. She did offer to lead to me another seat. I obliged. She led me to the other side of the restaurant where once I sat down (again) told me either one of these two servers (names escape me) will be here soon. I once again opened the menu. After waiting for another server no one arrived. I started looking over my shoulder as if I was looking for someone - because I was. Finally, another server brought drinks to the trio in the next booth to me. After delivering the drinks she walked to me and said the other server will be over soon. At that point I had a decision: as the song asks "Do I stay or do I go?" I folded the menu, got up and walked toward the door. Now, some will read this and claim maybe I was overreacting, not patient enough, etc. . . . I walked in at 9:30pm. They were not busy at all (maybe five tables busy) evidenced by the closing of one side of the restaurant. Fifteen minutes may not seem like a long time, but imagine sitting there with no service. Time passes slowly. You'd wonder why isn't anyone here? When do I get to order my drink? Have I been forgotten? Overlooked entirely? I would be remiss not to bring up that I once sat at darn near the exact same booth at this location only to sit there for over 45 minutes with no service whatsoever - and no apology from the management. I wasn't about to relive that. I do not blame the host who clearly wasn't aware a section was closed. I do not blame the server who told me it was closed and showed me to another booth. I do blame the manager - who I did not encounter. Whoever they are it is clear that leadership is nonexistent. Accountability is zero. The fish stinks from the head and that service certainly stunk. I did however drive to another Miller's location where I was immediately taken to a booth where - surprisingly - I wasn't asked to move! The server came over to take my drink order and entree, you know like how 99.9% of well run restaurants do. Avoid the Regency location and let it die a well deserved death. It's garbage. Drive just a little longer to the Beach and Hodges spot. Worth it. read more

We came on a game day Sunday. We were seated promptly Our server quickly welcomed us and took our drink, appetizer, and entree orders. Thus ended the prompt service. We did not start timing until after our drinks finally arrived. However, we figure it was a good 15 minutes. Our appetizer never arrived and our entree was 20 minutes after the drinks arrived. The chicken zingers were amazing (as expected) but the fries were cold. The margarita was mostly simple syrup with lime. I could not taste any tequila. My husband's Sam Adams was cold but with the up charge was $8.75 for a beer. Our server was friendly and apologetic about the kitchen. In the future we will bypass this Millers for others in Orange Park, Mandarin, and Jax Beach. read more

Food - I ordered a sirloin w mixed veggies and loaded mashed potatoes. The steak was 3in thick, way too thick, can't cook that properly. But honesty is still tasted ok, the loaded mash potatoes were shockingly terrible, couldn't eat them. The SERVICE! This is the one thing I can praise. 90% of this positive review is based on our service experience. The food isn't bad at Miller's by any stretch, it just wasn't the focal point of this visit. We read a LOT of negative Yelp reviews about this location, all of which were about terrible customer service. So we almost went here just to see if it was that bad. We weren't in the door 1 full minute before we were greeted and sat. Not long after we were sat, our server was right there to take our drink order. This type of thing continued on through the whole meal. Our server was quick, got our orders right and stopped by the table a few times in between to see if we needed anything else. We were seated where we could see the kitchen well and they were all hustling too. A lot of orders were going in and out of the kitchen. So it's not like we just got lucky at a really slow time. In short, I'm not sure why all the negative reviews happened. Maybe we stopped in after a change in management? A quick note on the food: again, it's typical bar food. Hours of operation says open until 2am but me and my family walk in 15 mins prior and they refuse to serve us! Kitchen is closed and "they are walking out" ! Our favorite app choices: Fried Calamari, Chickens Wings, Fiesta Nachos and the Ale House Loaded Fries. Portions are HUGE. Great for sharing with friends or family. The Mojitos and Angry Orchard Cider drinks are my favorite. The Capt. My family ate late afternoon so it was pretty slow and quiet and I enjoyed that personally. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the restaurant was a bit lack. As a server myself I understand you can't help when it gets messy but when it's slow there is no excuse. It was mainly the women's bathroom that needed attention and the live roach on the floor that was concerning... but it being Florida it is understandable. Walked in for UFC fight and it was packed with a line waiting. We talk to someone who may have been the mgr or owner who looked at us and seated us. Idk why but that was clutch. Drinks were great and priced well. We went outside to smoke a cigarette and came back to our server saying our drinks had been cleared. Before we could react she told us new ones were already on their way and apologized. Wow! That was awesome. Only suggestion would be the stools and chairs need some TLC. Stopped in late night Saturday after a long drive home. Game was on, sat at the bar, was acknowledged fast... be right with you. Watched the bartender joke and cus with customers and staff, throwing around the F-bomb like she was a sailor. Very unprofessional behavior for a large chain upscale restaurant, more suitable for a corner Tavern or strip bar. Having never been to a Millers Ale house I opened the menu to the appetizers page looked at the first item - "Zingers MAC-N-Cheese" and said I'll have the "zingers." I was asked which sauce, and on the bottom of the menu it had a nice chart of sauces to select from, non problem. Not knowing the "Zingers" label is placed in several of their menu items made this a problem. When my food came out, it was placed in front of me, no silverware was provided until I asked for it. Not when I ordered nor with the delivered appetizer. I was delivered chicken tenders, not Mac-N-Cheese. I waited to get the bartenders attention, who was busy joking and being rude with her "regulars" at the bar. Finally I caught her eye, asked her if we had a miscommunication, as I was expecting a different dish... that's when I found out "zingers" are part of several menu items and we, together didn't communicate effectively. Watching the serving line and the Manager at 11:30pm I noticed he was literally dragging his feet like he'd been there for three days without a break, just lacked energy and wore his mask under his chin, likely to keep his mouth shut because he wasn't saying much to staff as he slid around the back counter wall in a daze. The beer was cold, the chicken finger "zingers" were perfect, the televisions had a wonderful assortment of live sporting events and the atmosphere was nice, except for the cussing and overfamiliar bartender banter. This time I came here for a date and our waitress was really nice and attentive. It was moderately packed and we still received our food, drinks and refills in a timely manner. Their happy hour doesn't start until 10pm (way too late if you ask me), we arrived at 9:30 and ended up just ordering a drink to pass the time. Came here on a Saturday mid day, the place was practically empty. When we were finally seated, drink orders taken and then after placing our food order, was told they don't honor the lunch menu they handed us. Mind you no where on it did it say "weekdays only". About 45 minutes go by and no food has come out. 2 tables, 1 group of 5 and the other 1, receive their food before us. We had ordered a burger, onion rings and a pasta dish. Both tables had orders of salmon, burger and chicken dishes. We were told about 15 mins prior, that they had only 2 cooks working and things were taking a little longer than normal. This should have been conveyed when we were greeted/seated. Can't tell you how the food was because after an hour of being there, we had no food to even taste. We offered to pay for our sodas but the waitress said not to worry about it and it seemed like the burger we ordered went to someone else...Would have been nice to be offered our food or even something comped for wasting an hour of our time. Well, gave this location a shot after the other trip to the Mandarin location recently. We arrived at 7:00 on a Saturday night and were sat immediately. Our server was prompt and cordial. My wife ordered a flat bread appetizer and she loved it. It was just a basic red sauce and cheese but the flavor and texture were good. No complaints there. I opted for cheese fries and a house salad. The fries were exactly as they were at the other location- good! The salad was fresh and cold with croutons, cucumbers, tomatoes and cheese. At under $5 it's a good value for the size. So, we're gonna put Millers Ale house back on our list of regular haunts. For now, I'll recommend and will return.
