Last July I had to file a homeowners insurance claim with my old insurance company Encompass insurance for a pin hole leak in my hot water pipe . It destroyed my finished basement. I thought it was fine but last month I went downstairs and noticed a paint bubble in the paint under a section of drywall in my ceiling down there. After further inspection I noticed that they did not replace the section of encased wood they cut out because of needed mold removal. also they did not re wrap the air duct behind that drywall as required by PA building code. Before my Lawyer files a civil suit in court seeking damages I would like to give them one last chance to fix it at no cost to me . We had a basement flood/sewage back up in our basement that required remediation. My insurance company contacted Miller Restoration and I received a call from Matt M. a couple of hours later. He came out the same day and began work. My basement was full of things he needed to move, dispose of, etc. Not one complaint and it was a large undertaking. Matt was friendly, thorough and helpful. He called in advance to check when it would be convenient to come for daily monitoring of the heating/fan units. He walked me through what needed to be done, showed me the completed work and explained the next steps. He was absolutely fantastic. Although I had a water leak in the game room which led to the family room from a busted pipe.. Millers restoration was right on time! Employee Chris was amazing. He explained the process and also checked the walls, baseboards etc. for further damages. My insurance co. suggested these people to remediate water damage in a ceiling and deal with mold. Not a complicated problem. One room, one ceiling. We had to fire them after the first day when they did not cover the entirety of our bedroom and piled wet plaster and drywall on our hardwood floor. Huge, dusty mess to clean up. Had no clue as to what they were doing. Sent their "best tech" out the next day to look at the situation, and he seemed to be out of his depth, too. We just got an estimate from another company with a plan and lots of detail about how they were going to fix our problem. DO NOT USE this company. read more

They were sent by my homeowner's insurance company to paint and they caused $8,000 more damage to my property. They painted my windows shut, painted the pull cords, all paint was streaky, and used incorrect paint and paint drips all over the place. My insurance company was responsible for the additional damages. What a nightmare! read more

I called Miller Restoration after seeing that they were featured in the Montgomery County Best Picks Report for 2018. With other companies, when I mention I found them in Best Picks, they're thrilled and happy to help. However, the lady I spoke with on the phone at Miller Restoration told me that the owner will not do business with someone who found the company in the Best Picks Report. The reason she gave is that Best Picks did not ask for their permission to be featured in this years' booklet. I'm very confused by that statement because business is business. I do not work for Best Picks: I am a home owner with a possible mold problem and they turned me away because of where I found them. That is a rude and ridiculous way to manage a company and I'm appalled by the way I was treated on the phone. read more

Our insurance company suggested Miller and they saved the day for us. We had a basement flood and they showed up immediately, very prepared, willing to work and go the extra mile. They were careful with what we could salvage. Plastic tarps were used to control dust. They had every kind of equipment they might have needed. -- They were professional, articulate and thorough. After the initial problem was contained, we worked with their managers on a restoration bid and ultimately on restoration. They were helpful with working with the insurance company as well. They first of all gouged my insurance company for thousands of dollars after their "guys" came and kept hassling us about how much our sump pump failure cap was all throughout the night they arrived. Gee, what do you know--after telling them it was 10k--they bill our insurance for just under 5 grand. What they did for 5 grand I will NEVER understand. They charged 250 dollars to remove carpet and old items, and thousands in rental fees for fans/dehumidifiers. Their "guy" wanted to tear everything up in the room--including every bit of drywall, tack strip for carpet, etc. presumably to make even more money--even though none of that was necessary. The real reason I write this is because their guys "took pictures" of the basement on the first night only, but then proceeded to royally screw up our basement by moving everything in our laundry room around (unplugging washer/dryer, moving them forward, not putting them back) the worst part is that they removed the drainage hose from our washer, which my wife didn't realize since really--why should she assume a place charging as much as these jokers that they would not do their job and replace/put things back in place? Long story short, this caused another huge issue in our basement where we have had to now dry the entire thing ourselves because of their laziness, as well as calling an electrician out from blowing a circuit in trying to dry items out because of their mistakes and the insuing wetness of our basement. Best part? Our insurance person called this business, and their response was "we took pictures" we are not liable for damages--right, because you took pictures and still came out for 4 more days, but then left things out of place--and that isn't your fault nor your responsibility to put things back in the order they were originally in. What a joke, I would never recommend these gougers to anyone--and the only reason we even heard of them is because our insurance gave us their number. read more

We had water/antifreeze damage from a broken Sprinkler pipe in the attic which caused extensive damage from the attic to the basement through three bedrooms, hallway, kitchen, and dinning room. We obtained repair estimates from several companies and Miller Restoration (Stu Rieben) provided, by far, the most comprehensive and detailed assessment of the damage and estimated cost of the repairs. Stu coordinated several contractors for dry wall/painting, hardwood floor refinishing, and electrical to completion on time and on budget. Our insurance company paid the full amount of the repairs and we are delighted with the finished result. Our house looks better than it did before the damage. Used Miller Restoration for water damage on a bedroom ceiling from a leaking roof. The entire staff from the production manager Stu Rieben to the actual work crew proved to be very professional. Very helpful, very courteous, and very efficient. They replaced the ceiling and molding and did a very good job. It was a 3-4 day job and they cleaned up each day and at the end of the job. Would not hesitate to recommend their services. Disasters in our home are not fun, but dealing with this company made things much easier. read more

Miller Restoration was contacted by my insurance company after a fire. They stored my furniture until I moved to a new house. They did a horrible job moving my furniture and caused damage to the walls and hardwood floors of my landlords house. They also gouged and scratched my furniture, even breaking a door off. When I began opening the boxes of dishes I discovered there was still smoke on all the dishes. They also did not return a key to a file cabinet so I had to break it open to get the documents out of it. After over a month, they still have not compensated my landlord or myself have not been compensated for the damages they have caused. read more

I used Miller's two different times about 1 year apart for pipe breaks in the lower level of my house. They came out right away the guys were friendly and efficient. My son has asthma and i was worried about there being mold that would affect him. The guys made sure they got all the water soaked flooring up set up the fans and came back day after day until it was dried completely. They removed the drywall that had mold and cleaned everything up to my complete satisfaction. The office staff was helpful they dealt with my insurance company and gave me an itemized bill that showed what the charges were for. Great company that knows what they are doing! read more
