    Fun sandy beach
    Geoffrey G.

I wish Mill Pond Park was in my town! This is truly a gem of San Saba, and makes me wonder if this little town can have something so awesome why can't every city. Mill Pond Park has a sand beach in this beautiful little lake. How nice to relax, play in the sand, and then jump in the water to cool off. The lake has multiple fountains making it quite a beautiful sight. There is also a huge blow up trampoline thing in the water that you can use for free. Everywhere else I know charges for such a fun adventure. There is also a nice swimming pool in the park. It is only open certain hours, but it is a must stop if you have kids. There are small slides, things to play on, and a lot of room. Two huge playgrounds take up the back part of the park. They are mostly shaded which makes for a fun outing of playing before going swimming. There is also nice walking trails, cool waterfalls, and just a lot of pretty scenery to take in. I loved visiting this park and it warrants a definite visit when in San Saba.

This is a beautiful park in San Saba. Nice place to stop on a trip through town to relax and enjoy the nice water features and wildlife. The park has a spring-fed lake and a waterfall cascading over rocks. The waters then flow under a bridge and wind throughout the park. Ducks and geese can be seen on the lake and it's many tributaries that meander throughout the park. There are also picnic areas, and Pecan Pool, the municipal swimming pool. There are paddle boat rentals too, for those that want to get on the water. A fishing/swimming dock is on the lake too.

Your first impression of the pool will probably be wow it's large with so many lanes and many areas where you can just swim or float to your hearts content. Another impression might be and it was especially for me the bright blue water of the pool. It looks refreshing, cool, and inviting. Deep Eddiy pool has a oblong shape typical of large pools of its size. The pool has architecturally clean lines with precise corners. When you stand on the pool platform the vastness of the pool rushes to the forefront. Everytime I stick my foot in the water of the Deep Eddy pool, that cool refreshing feeling envelopes my body. Entry fees are very reasonable and can beas low as $2 per day. Paid parking is available in front of the pool and on the street. Nice relaxing self-care day...

Ok if you're desperate for some water…read more The water was crisp and cool even on a 99° day in August Half the pool is designated for swimming laps. There are no lounge chairs so bring a blanket for the ground and expect it to get dirty because people have to sit in the grass/dirt. There are a few trees for shade. No alcohol or food/drink allowed. I brought in my water bottle and no one said anything so I guess water is ok There is a parking lot but you must pay to park and it gets filled quickly Bike trails lead up to it Locker rooms are half indoor/half outdoor and rather dingy. Several lifeguards on duty. periodically they make everyone get out of the pool for 5 min (one an hour?) There needs to be someone skimming the pool throughout the day..there's a ton of bugs/leaves that get in the water. Also, since people lounge on the dirt lawn, everyone's feet are dirty when getting in the pool. The pool ropes had some sort of black sludge caked into them. It was pretty gross. $5 for an adult. Free for veterans.

The layout is split between a young children splash pad area and a full size pool that is split into multiple sections. I was incredibly impressed by everything they have to offer. The entrance fee is $5 per adult, $4 for senior citizen or if you have a military ID. They have a high dive and a low dive that dips into 12 Ft pool. They have 2 swim lanes, they can be shared. I do think they have certain hours where it is open swim, adult swim, etc. Check online before going to make sure you will be able to swim. They have a lot of picnic tables and chairs to lay your stuff at while you swim. They have a small kids play water park with slides and a bucket that dumps water. It looked like fun but since I didn't have a kid with me, I didn't venture to that side. Overall, this pool is great and I would come again!
