I have a rinker 320 twin merCruiser 5.0 mpi Low hours 1st of all I payed for inside Storage The 1st week Of December I made a unannounced Appearance to the Marina Too see my boat outside and uncovered with snow on top They came up with a story that they just pulled it out of the storage for the day but it hadn't snow for3 days and there was snow on it Second of all at the end of the Storage season The boat was ready to go back in the water the day I arrived my boat was in the water with oily foot prints all over the carpeting In my Isinglass on the deck floor in a big pile with mold on it I went to the office complained about the mess they told me that they would clean it up so I had to came back the next day when I Arrive the next morning they told me that they took the boat out for a sea trial but why didn't they do that the day before the mechanic said the port engine was not working correctly that they will have to do some work on The valves that I would have to come back in A couple of days So came back to get the boat Ran the boat up to East Greenwich made it halfway had to turn around and go back on One engine The mechanic looked at it said I need a new head so they end up taking the head off and getting refurbished 2000 dollars later It was time to pick up the boat heading back up to East Greenwich same thing was happening the engine kept popping So I made it to MyDock in East Greenwich with one engine I had a friend of mine that's a mechanic Came down and look at the engine Told me the only thing that's wrong with the engine is there's water in the gas tank he said they didn't have to change the head I called A company to come down and clean the fuel tanks engines been working great ever since can't Believe that the mechanic at Millcreek would not check the fuel tanks for water I would not recommend anybody to go to that Marina not even my enemy read more

Do yourself a favor and don't even think of doing business with these guys!!! I purchased a brand new Suzuki DF250 from Mill Creek Marine in 2013. They serviced it every year since I purchased it. In September of 2018 I blew a piston. The boat was still under warranty. I authorized them to do the repair. Throughout the fall and winter I checked with them monthly to check on the progress of the repair. I was in no hurry and told them it just needed to be finished by April. I started checking with them in April and they one excuse after another why the repair was not completed. This went on for another 2 months.In June of 2019 (9 months after I had dropped the boat off) they told me that there there was a problem with the heads and that Suzuki would not cover them even though they were under warranty. They told me that if I wanted to get the boat back in the water I could buy new heads at a cost to me of $5,000. I then contacted Suzuki and was told that Mill Creek had never even contacted them. Suzuki was excellent and they sent new heads right out. It still took Mill Creek another 3 weeks to assemble the new heads. It was now July, 10 MONTHS after I had dropped the boat off to them. After they assembled the heads they told me that the boat now needed another $5,100 worth of miscellaneous repairs. Having lost all confidence in them I brought the boat to another dealer who did all of the repairs for $1,900. They also found out that Mill Creek had incorrectly mounted the engine and they had put the wrong prop on it. I just got the boat back in the water after 11 MONTHS. Throughout the whole process they told me one lie after another. They wanted me to pay $5,000 for new heads because they were to lazy and incompetent to pick up the phone and call Suzuki. It is the worst experience I have ever had in over 30 years of boating. read more

Based on my experience with them, I strongly advise you to not utilize the service department of Mill Creek Marine. I dropped off my Mercruiser powered boat on 08JUL14, with a complaint about the stern drive not shifting out of forward easily (needed coaxing) and stalling when going into reverse. I specifically stated that the shift cable or interrupt switch needed adjustment. I had never done this before, myself, so I wanted a pro to do it. I was told there was a 10-day wait for service. The boat was finally looked at 21 days later. The mechanic supposedly spent 1.71 hours troubleshooting the vessel, and diagnosed it as having an old stern drive, and recommended a new drive as the fix. Please note this vessel is a 1987 model year; I knew the drive was old. Mill Creek Marine then stated that the throttle cable was beyond adjustment, and they could see no other way to fix the vessel. I brought the vessel home and proceeded to spend 15 minutes watching YouTube videos about adjusting throttle cables and shift interrupt switches. Yes, I should have done this first, and saved myself headache, but I'd thought a competent operation could have addressed this matter easily. I then fixed the issue in 10-15 minutes, including the time it took to haul my tool bag onboard. After watching the videos, I was able to make the repair inside of 15 minutes. So, as an amateur, I accomplished in 15 minutes what Mill Creek Marine could not in the 1.71 hours originally billed. I had specifically told them at check-in that I needed the boat to be able to shift, and specifically stated that I thought the throttle cable needed to be adjusted or the shift interrupt switch changed. MCM opted to go with the single most expensive means to accomplish this, when, in reality, no parts were necessary at all. In my opinion, piracy is still alive and well in the waterways, the pirates just run boatyards now, and what I experienced via "service" at MCM certainly cemented that opinion to me. I would strongly advise against becoming a victim, err, customer of MCM, and seek repairs to your vessel by way of other services. MCM did lower their time billed from 1.71 on the original bill to 1.42 hours on a "revised" bill (after I called to complain). I feel like I got ripped off by a slightly less amount, but paying a lot for nothing in return is still expensive. Further, coworkers of mine have reported equally unpleasant dealings with them regarding their Suzuki Dealer service work as well. I brought my Suski 2 two stroke (yr 2000) because it stop running and would not start. After several weeks of waiting I was told it needed a new computer. They don't make that computer anymore and it is impossible to buy one.I found a new one online the same day. MCM said it was impossible to find one and I will have to buy a new engine. The worst part is they misdiagnost the problem and it cost me an extra $2000. That was not the problem. I brought it to Atlantic Marine in MA. and it was only the magneto ! I strongly endorse Mill Creek Marine and have had numerous positive experiences. I am a professional charter Captain with a 300 Mercury Verado. I struck a ledge with my prop at idle speed. Unfortunately the shock of the hit not only bent my S/S prop but severed the drive shaft at the spline connecting the powerhead. I was in a difficult position as this was the start of a seven day charter. While waiting for Sea Tow, I was consulting with Jamie Shriner and Master Mechanic Charlie. Within a few minutes, the replacement parts had been ordered and rushed via overnite air freight. I transported my rig to Mill Creek where Charlie was prepared for my arrival and immediately dropped the lower unit. The powerhead was also removed in order to recover the severed spline. The parts arrived and the engine was quickly repaired and returned to service, after Jamie personally scrubbed the boat clean. My repair bill was very fair, the turn around time extraordinary and I was back on my charter with minimal interruption. Charlie is a superb Mechanic and technical expert. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge. Jamie and Jim Shiner are very professional, competent and honest to fault. They understood my situation and were very proactive and helpful. Both these gentlemen know the process of boat yard and business logistics and are nimble, flexible and proactive. I have had many experiences at Mill Creek Marine. I have been asked by the Shriners to delay my work order to accommodate an emergency situation by a customer with a more urgent need. I have gladly done so in the past and have been the needy customer in his case. Thank you to Mill Creek Marine, Charlie, Melinda, Jamie, Jim and yard staff.
