The way to describe this place would be "ultra-homey"-- the staff are all friendly and welcoming. I overheard one of the baristas chatting with a customer about being back from college, which added to the small town feel. They have a great selection of cards, photographs, and paintings from local artists. Both years, I've bought a beautiful card and written a letter to my grandmother on it. It's the kind of place that puts one in the mood to write letters to family. I'll be back next year.

Next time I would like to try the other flavors. It was really clean. Even the bathroom was clean. There was only one bathroom so I had to wait for the bathroom for a while. Today the service was downright hostile. We ordered our four coffees at half-sweetness to account for our taste and they were still very sweet. When my daughter went to ask, the barista was very rude to her about it. Additionally, when I went to collect our drinks, I asked which was which, the same barista was rude to me. We are polite patrons and the store was not overly busy. The only reason I can think for the way we were treated was because we did not put a tip on the charge when we paid. Our total for four coffees was $29 and change. That's quite a tab and I am happy to pay it as the coffees were a treat, but I wait to pay a tip to see how the service is. Given what we received, no thanks. I do not recommend this establishment. There are much friendlier coffee shops in the Minocqua area.
