Pros: 1) has a separate area for small and big dogs; 2) has trees; 3) has dog waste bags station. Cons: 1) no fountain for dogs to drink; 2) No parking only parking on the grass where it's says no parking allowed; 3) grass is looking very old; 4) not enough shades under the sitting area; 5) too small area for a big dogs.

During the Seminole Wars the United States army attempted to relocate the Seminoles under The Indian Removal Act, signed into law on May 28, 1830. All Native Americans were to be removed to Federal lands west of the Mississippi. In pursuit of this goal, General Abner Doubleday created a military trail between Fort Lauderdale and Fort Dallas on the Miami River. Military Trail also ran from a Fort in Jupiter to Ft. Lauderdale. The Miami portion of Military Trail crossed over the limestone bridge at Arch Creek Park, crossing over the fresh water creek flowing from the Everglades to Biscayne Bay. Today this portion of the historic Military Trail features a large park with tall trees, open lawn, and an .4 mile exercise trail that loops around the perimeter of the park. Parking can be found in a small gravel parking area on the south side of the park. The main reason to come to this park is for the fenced in dog park with separate areas for big and small dogs. Leashed dogs are welcome outside the fenced in areas. Other park amenities include a shaded playground, benches, picnic tables, and water fountains. This park is a nice oasis of nature for pups and their human companions.

This park is amazing for dogs. Plenty of space for our furry friends to play with. Two fenced areas

This park is amazing for dogs. Plenty of space for our furry friends to play with. Two fenced areas (big and small) gives you the flexibility to keep your dogs off the leash. The park has an amazing track if you just want to take your dog for a walk. It also has lots of trash cans and offers doggie bags to pick up after yourself. Best thing is that we now have a water fountain

The park is OK. I always find that others don't clean up after their dog and it makes it a little challenging

The park was created by the development firm Related Group who built the small park for the city in 2019 in exchange for closing NE 31st Street to allow construction of the new district. While it is a City of Miami park, it is maintained by the Paraiso District. There are approximately 7,000 residents living within a 10 minute walk to the park. While this is a park primarily used by area residents anyone is free to use it. Parking for Paraiso Park can be difficult to find but I found a metered spot a couple of blocks down the street. The main draw of this park is the stunning view of Biscayne Bay with a wide brick bay walk. The walkway is part of the Biscayne Line, a 10-mile waterfront promenade connecting Edgewater in the north with downtown Miami in the south. Next to the park and connected by the bay walk is the restaurant Amara at Paraiso, where diners can enjoy outdoor seating with bay breezes. Other park features include a popular dog park, public art, a children's playground with rope climber, benches, water fountain, and an exercise area with three Kompan Fitness Zone machines. I was really impressed by how much half an acre can hold while making the most of the breath taking view of Biscayne Bay.

In ancient times, the Tequesta used the river for travel and in the 1800's, the Seminoles set up a trading post to service early Miami settlers. Later on the land was a limestone quarry. Dedicated in 1936, Greynold's is Miami's second oldest park. It was created by the Civilian Conservation Corps. which was part of Roosevelt's New Deal Program that was set up to provide work for Americans who were suffering from the Great Depression. The limestone from the quarry was used for the buildings in the park. Greynold's is one on my favorite parks in Miami. I have been to the west side but this was my first time visiting the east end. The park has a lot of beautiful trees which support the local bird population. As I was walking around I saw a red shouldered hawk swoop down for a meal. Park amenities in this part of the park include a restroom, dog park, and kayak launch. There is a vendor renting kayaks or bring your own. You can paddle up the Oleta River to the intracoastal, north into Dumbfoundling Bay and back to the launch. It is a 6-7 mile loop with nice scenery for most of the paddle. The only thing I dislike about Greynold's park is they charge $7 for parking on weekends. Parks are funded by tax payers so I am used to parking for free. Greynold's started charging for parking over a year ago and I am not sure why North Miami felt they needed to start doing that. Possibly they were trying to be like nearby Oleta River Park which also has kayak rentals and charges a similar fee for entrance to the park.

I say this because located beyond the dog park areas I see lovely shaded trails and a big lake that is kind of hidden by trees as well as a play area for the kids. We will definitely venture out and beyond on one of our future visits. Being that my dog is a sweet senior, we just don't cover as much ground as we would like but there's always time to come back again and again. This just gives us more to look forward to on future visits. Besides having a separate fenced in areas for both small & large dogs, each park has several play &/or training obstacles that are extra perks you don't find at many dog parks these days. This park is protected by beautiful palms, willows, oaks, and more. Beautiful landscaping and I have to say SUPER SUPER clean. Owners obviously appreciate this park and clean up after their pets as everyone should at every darn dog park. I followed directions via GPS via the Yelp app and when you pull in you will see tennis courts and basketball courts on your right and then there is a lane to the left which has big paw dog prints that lead to the park. ...and the rest is history! Take your pup there already!
