Let me start with the good about Doc Milhem: She is kind, offers financial assistance (reduced rates for what you can afford), is on both BART and MUNI lines, has evening hours and has abundant availability. The bad is likely partially obvious: She very few patients because she isn't skilled at the art of therapy, it's why there are only two reviews here, and the irony is that she doesn't really listen --- or rather - she does listen but she doesn't hear --- there's a huge difference. And that problem is further compounded because she is blind. The problem with that --- is you have to see your patients - literally and figuratively. You need to look into their eyes, feel their pain or their joy --- it's not all ascertainable audibly. And only having the ability to hear and the inability to really understand the level of someone's pain and discomfort -- much of which can in fact be hand if you can really look into and at someone -- is just problematic. The doctor is very nice. But this is the worst therapist I've ever been to. She's booksmart and street unintelligent, as it were. For me - it wound up being a huge waste of time and money. Think about why she's so easy to get an appointment with, why she actually has available appointments during the workweek lunchtime hours and available appts. at night. the best and most sought after therapists never have such abundance in hours and availability. read more
