We used to love picking berries here. Unfortunately, they now charge a five dollar fee for the privilege of picking, or in this case for the misery of walking among over picked berry bushes. The idea is that you get your money back when you buy berries, as they subtract the picking fee from the cost of the berries. Of course, there's no refund when there are no berries to pick, and no warning or waiving of the fee in theses cases. Paid fifteen dollars for less than 2 pounds of berries. Employees are not empowered to deal with concerns from customers. We won't be going back. read more

This place is amazing. Here's what I remember they have (because they have so much, I can't possibly remember it all): Berry picking, apple picking, feeding goats, slides downhill, a sand lot, a playground, a tractor you can get into and take pictures, swings, a market, donuts, and I could go on. We spent hours here and my kids, all under 5, didn't even look like they had considered leaving was an option. It is not close to any major cities. ANIMAL WELFARE CONCERN - GOAT YOGA Please do not go here to attend the Goat Yoga event that is run multiple times a year. The animals were clearly traumatised when I was there, especially the baby ones that were being picked up and chased by people there who wanted photos. There was over 100 yoga students crammed into the space and me and two others left because we were uncomfortable with the whole thing. Really don't recommend this. There should be far better standards, but I see we have a long way to go in taking animal welfare seriously read more

Went here to pick Honeycrisp apples, which are available for picking here only 2 weekends out of an entire year. We walk up at around 3:30pm and try to take the hayride to the orchards. An employee tells us the fields have been shut down due to an impending storm. I look up, the sky is clear though a little gray. We plead that we just drove all the way from DC (about 2 hours) and asked if there's any way we could be allowed to pick. He says no, the registers are closed now. We ask if the fields would reopen by 5pm (closing time) he said no. We go into the store and come out 10 mins later to see people walking back to their cars with bags of apples. It was quite lousy they couldn't make an exception for people who drove way from DC to pick an apple that is only available twice out of a whole year. Adding insult to injury, the store wasn't even selling those apples yet. If you go here, and especially if you have to take a drive to get there, don't even think about it if there's a chance of rain. They will have no mercy on you and you'll have wasted time, energy, gas money, toll money, and sat in stop-and-go I-95 traffic. ...if you're wondering, no, they won't get my business in the future. read more

This place was a blast. I went with several family members and it was better than last year. The apple cider doughnuts are on point! They have the freshest produce and amazing bakery goods. All of the staff are helpful and as sweet as can be. Some fun activites include, pumpkin/fruit picking, rides for the kids, farm animals, pony rides, paint ball shooting, hayrides, moon bounces, and an apple sling shot. We spent $10 a person to get in during the Fall Festivals and it was well worth it. The children had so much fun and we were there for over three hours. I'm not sure if there are enough adjectives to describe how great this orchard is. There is a plethora of fruits grown on the premises for one to pick. Usually the picking season begins in June with cherries and ends up in October with apple picking and their excellent home made apple cider donuts. You can pick some kind of fruit from June through October. They have a great farm market that sells their fresh fruits, pies, and local vegetables. They have the best apple cider on the planet! I love coming here in the fall to pick apples! It is a nice place to go with a group of friends in the fall for a bonfire. There are also things to do with kids. The have animals like goats, chickens, ducks, bunnies, etc. I'm lucky to have a great orchard in my backyard. read more

Such a cute place for fall fun! Tons to do for little ones! Our 15 month old loved the school bus and all the animals! Only complaint is the $10 price per person to get in. We had adult friends with us with a newborn and they still had to pay to enter even though their child wasn't participating in activities. We were in town visiting my in-laws during the summertime and as took my 16-month-old here. Only $1 entry. Beautiful grounds; apple trees everywhere. Lots of different fun activities for kids. Some Serra little less young toddler friendly, but he still had plenty of fun! It was terribly hot at the end of July though. Activities: - Climbing spiderweb, - 3 different playgrounds - Sack race - Small inflatable "animals" that the kids can bounce on & hop around a track - Sandbox with toys - Petting/feeding area (the animals were all enclosed in gates; we saw a lot of goats, 1 hen, & 1 pig; food is 25 cents in a dispenser, so bring quarters) The small cafe's lunch was surprisingly good. I believe there's only outdoor seating, but some of it is covered. You order from a window. Very small menu; only a few selections. The Friday special was 1 hot dog, chips, a slice of pie, & a drink for $5; it changes daily. The egg salad sandwich was really good and the pasta salad side was delicious!! The market was great! Tons of fresh fruit, veggies, jams, sauces, dressings, cheese, ciders, etc. My mother-in-law even said that she wants to start during her regularly grocery shopping there (if only they had meat). We'll definitely be going back - to shop, eat, and to take my son to play - and we look forward to checking it out during the other seasons. read more

This is a family fun place, great donuts for sure. 3 stars cause is is super busy and feel like a human farm factory. Furthermore, $10 cover to walk in is pure greed. Even my 3 yr old paid an adult cover (ridiculous) $50 to walk in and then you buy all their food. $10 dozen donuts, $50 more at the store for apples, cider, candy and some sauces. And we didn't buy real food. Over 100 bucks for some apples, cider, donuts and other junk. If it weren't for the cover I'd probably go back. Wonderful farm just outside of Newark, DE! I went blueberry picking here, and the rows were filled with plump and delicious blueberries! There's a variety of different fruits that are available for picking, and I'll definitely be back to get raspberries and blackberries! Just a little bit farther north, is their farm store! AMAZING. I want to buy everything in here! I bought apple cider donuts, a blueberry loaf, peach cider (so refreshing), sweet corn, and sweet potato butter! There's tons of samples - I was able to try the donut peach (omg, so good) and caramel corn puffs (ADDICTING)~ Outside the store, there is a play area. Check out the barnyard buddies, filled with goats, pigs, rabbits, a donkey, horse, and chickens. For 25 cents you can give feed to the goats! Ehehehehehehehehehehe. I came here for the pumpkin patch and was very delighted with all the other things you can do here. I had never been to a place like this before so I don't really have anything to compare it too. First off, they have huge amounts of things for kids to do (face painting, scary houses, park, mazes, little obstacle courses, etc.) They have a big selection of pumpkins from very tiny to humongous so you'll just have to worry about not taking to many! They also have pets and little 25cent machine with food so you can feed them. It really is a very nice and organized and clean place to go. Also, they have a nice hayride that takes you all the farm (kind of like to sightsee) and the view is very beautiful. Aside from all the outdoor activities they also have a little farmers market. You can get all types of jams and jellys and fresh fruit and vegetables. Before you leave you must try their apple cider and their cider donuts. They are so yummy and have just he right amount of sweetness. Before we left this eventful place we went apple picking. You get on a wagon that takes you out to the apple trees and they give a bag and you get to pick the apples right off the tree to your liking. There is something so delightful, so fun, so rejuvenating about picking your own fruit. When you are in Havre de Grace, you can fulfill your inner child by a trip to Milburn Orchards. Only a Blue Meanie wouldn't want to got fruit picking(professional field laborers exempted...gosh they work under harsh conditions).These Milburn people own orchards all right---acres and acres of apple trees, raspberry plants, blackberry bushes, and grapes...oh those wonderful grapes. We went this weekend and had such a joyous time picking grapes(the berries were sour) and roaming through the fields. Lacking the endurance of the migrant worker, we nevertheless wilted under the scorching sun after packing some sweet, succulent grapes into a bushel. The view itself is spectacular; when you pause from picking, you can be magnetized by a vast expanse of verdant fields. Fruit here is weighed by the pound so you are not forced to pick an entire bushel of fruit you can't eat. The downside is that the fruit ends up being slightly pricier if you pick a lot..but hey, you are paying for the experience. And when was the last time you had grapes so sweet you thought you were eating ambrosia? You also pay for the fruit you nibble on in the fields(confess it, you do!) because when your fruit is weighed, it is not weighed in the plastic bag but in it AND on top of a heavy box top. Milburn Orchards has a farm store where you can buy local jams, cider, cheese, teabreads, and fruit already picked, vegetables, and their famous cider donuts. Which of course I had, much to the groan of my overtaxed liver(more fat!!! It exclaimed!). It was tender, crumbly and greasy and delicious. Outside the house for the market, Milburn Orchards has benches where you can sit and eat one of their snacks(doughnuts, nachos--I would skip this one, ice cream etc.) and a huge amusement area that children can play in. This is a fun place to go any time of the year! And for all you men out there who think fruit picking is silly or only for women and kids, orchards house many romantic nooks!!A man who understands the earthy pleasure of eating ripe fruit from the vine is a true romantic! read more

Great orchard to pick your own. Went there for blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries (had both red and yellow). Lots of bushes/trees and nice layout. A little bit over priced compared to other areas, but overall a great place to pick your own berries! Also, accepts credit cards out in the field which is a bonus! read more

We stop here often for produce. The staff overall is very helpful and friendly. The market is great and this time of year is fun with all the pumpkins...but...I took two teenagers (my mistake) for a walk around the fenced area they have set up for their fall festival and paid $10 per person to walk around, look at some goats, walk through some dusty sheds decked out for Halloween, climb on some tires, crawl through a tube and feed some chickens. Sorry, not worth 10 bucks. Save your money for buying some of their beautiful pumpkins, gourds, squash or other produce in the store. They have Concord grapes which I love. Overall the experience is good but went on a weekday and a lot of things, including the hayride, were not available. The hayride was running but only for class trip groups. Would have been nice if they had a few for the public too, if they aren't busy enough to justify it on weekdays maybe a couple at designated times as opposed to all day like on weekends. read more

Stopped by on a recent pleasant fall afternoon. It was mobbed as expected but the crowds were handled well. We picked up a few things in the market and decided to grab a bite on the Orchard View deck. Big mistake. The line was long and took quite a while to get to the front to order.... then we had to wait even more for our order. To make matters worse- and this is my main gripe about this place- the seating area at the orchard view deck is infested by a swarm of honey bees. They were relentless. I am sure there is something that management/ownership can do.... install bee traps, hose down and scrub the surfaces of the tables and the concrete daily.... at the very least wipe down the tables and benches with cleaning towels and something as simple as Spray Nine or Simple Green. Eliminate the attraction of the food and drink residue and you'll eliminate the pests. We could not even enjoy our snack without being swarmed by these bees. We ended up retreating back to our car, not even going to see the barnyard animals as previously planned...and therefore spending more money. We have been coming to Milburns for years, before it became a pseudo tourist attraction. read more
