We were told that the oral surgeon we saw was "in-network" but then they coded it/billed it in a way so it would not be covered and wanted to charge over 4,000 dollars to extract one tooth from my son's mouth. We went to another oral surgeon at a different practice who was also "in-network" and highly regarded, and we ended up paying less than 300 dollars after insurance for the exact same procedure. GOMS also charged us 500 dollars for a 3D image that they said was necessary but the oral surgeon we saw did not need those images to perform the extraction. These extractions were performed many times in the past without this specific imaging yet they want to charge 500 dollars extra for something that is not critical and tell you it is necessary. I am so glad that we ended up seeking out a second opinion and saved ourselves thousands of dollars. I went for another consultation for myself just in case my son's case was an outlier and had the exact same experience in terms of the quote that they gave me, and it was an astronomical difference from where I ended up having the work done. I just want people to know that there are other options if you don't want to spend thousands of dollars to have one tooth taken out.

Dr. Zuckman took two photographs…read morewith his iPhone, left the room, and when he returned he stated, "my pathologist is 100% sure this is a herpetic viral infection." He prescribed an anti-viral and ended the consultation. Teh Standard of Care for the diagnosis of a herpetic viral infection is a PCR (culture) test in a lab, not a photograph from an iPhone. I later found out that he claimed to send the photos digitally to a pathologist in Pennsylvania. Here we are in Greenwich, CT, and Zuckman sends the photos to somebody in another state. Turned out it was NOT a herpetic virus, but Zuckman's 100% diagnosis ruled out cancer, trauma, a non-herpetic virus or other causes for the unusual lesion. Once I began taking the anti-viral, the PCR test I asked my physician for became less reliable. However, it did show no herpetic virus at all. Zuckman never counseled me about "herpes," transmission, lifestyle, etc., nor did he ask if I had any history of herpetic viruses. I did not. His 100% from "his pathologist" was reckless and he later denied the statement entirely. Failing a resolution directly with Zuckman, I have filed a formal Complaint with the CT Department of Public Health related to his diagnosis, his treatment, his potential violation of my HIPAA patient rights and the use of a PA physician that may or may not be licensed to provide diagnosis for a CT patient. Importantly, Dr. Zuckman REFUSED to answer my questions on these topics and I told him I would file a Complaint if he did not. Small point, but worth mentioning. My mouth was in 8-9/10 pain because of this lesion. I called for some kind of prescription pain relief and Zuckman's office refused. Was told to take Motrin.

I was in lot of pain as two of my wisdom teeth required extraction due to a severe infection. I could not fully open my jaw, and my regular dentist recommended Dr. Yudell. I felt very comfortable and confident after reading his credentials and reviews. Dr. Yudell was amazing from the beginning to the end. The extraction was painless and the recovery after the surgery was fast. I did not feel the need for pain killers after the procedure. The staff was very helpful and courteous; they also deserve 5 stars. I had called the office to make the initial appointment ASAP, as I was in lot of pain for three weeks.
