I just finished experiencing the most unprofessional conversation with an employee at the Milano's pizzeria at the Tompkins location. I called Milano's pizzeria after receiving our pizza because they made a mistake regarding our order. Our order was simple; half Hawaiian, the other half being, chicken pepperoni and olives. After processing my order, I kindly asked if they could repeat my order to avoid confusion and ensure accuracy and proficiency; however, even after these messures were taken, there was still an error with my order - Chicken and onions were added on the Hawaiian portion, and no chicken on the other half.
I called the store back not only to inquire about how they typically dress a Hawaiian pizza, but also notify them that my order had not arrived the way I requested.
The following is how the employee responded to my phone call after I received my pizza:
Before I even mentioned the error regarding my order, the employee was quick to argue with me about the approximate time I made the order, even though this was not my issue. I then proceeded to ask how a Hawaiian is made at Milano's as I mentioned that my pizza was made incorrectly. I told the employee the chicken was placed on the wrong half. His response was "well take the chicken off, and put it on the other half". I have never before been more shocked, disgusted, and at the same time insulted by this response. He continued to say he was very busy, and he was not going to do anything in regards to my error. Instead he was going to send the driver back to take the pizza back.
Hopefully you'll all agree with me ...
1. HE Never apologized for messing up the order.
2. He Never suggested to have another pizza made for us to our liking.
3. Their was no solution for his customer to being satisfied.
You see to me I've would of been ok with a simple sorry we made a mistake. I can either give you option a or option b.
HE aggressively says I don't have time for this, just take off the chicken and onions on the other side. Number 1. I didn't even order onions number two chicken isn't on a Hawaiian. The only thing you have to do is put toppings on a pizza and you couldn't even get that right.
I would highly suggest educating your staff on what it means to have common sense, what it means to be curteous, and what it means to be professional.
I can guarantee this is not the first complaint regarding this employee, and as a well known establishment, your reputation to deliver customer satisfaction will be highly tainted.
Sincerely
