I've always been very satisfied servicing our pick-up at Mikes but this time I'm thrilled so here's the short version. Our 2002 Ford Ranger began idling rough and then misfiring very badly. Mike couldn't fit us in that day so I took it to the Ford dealership down the road. After a short wait they said the timing chain was broken and would cost about $3000 to fix. Not believing it was the timing chain I took it back to Mikes and a few days later I drove away with a new injector in #6 cylinder and a $307 invoice. Not only is Mike one smart mechanic, he is very honest and his prices are reasonable. I'll never go to a dealership again for service! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Mike's Tire and Auto, on 17. We were stressed to the max about our broken old OLD car,and are fairly clueless about car stuff. So as ex NY'ers we expected to be ripped off big time. But no! Mike's price and speed of service were incredible!!! I use Mike's all the time. I stumbled upon this hidden gem one day when I was looking to get an oil change. I had to have my car towed to the shop and repaired. The customer service, work and HONESTY was what brings me back. When I bring my car in for an oil change, inspection I am not told that I need this, that and try to sell me like the dealerships do. When my car needed repair they gave me a quote, didn't try to add on extra's. I would go back and recommend this place. read more

HORRIBLE service. Took car in because it was getting stuck in Park, making it basically undriveable. They warned us that they were busy that day and would try to get to as soon as possible. Made the mistake of asking them to do some routine maintenance (rotate tire etc.) while it was there anyway for the Park problem. Well, they found the time to do all routine maintenance, but not the ONE thing that was making it undriveable! It was suggested to keep car in neutral, lock it up in our garage to keep it from getting stolen, and bring it back in a week! My best advice to ANYONE out there is to steer clear of this place. They are obviously too busy to do their jobs, but not too busy to take your money. read more

I had my SUV front suspension repaired in Raleigh before driving to camp with my kids to camp Sea Gull for the weekend. By the time we reached Kinston, the brakes were making an awful scraping noise in the front end. The team at Mike's were great as a NAPA auto repair location. I towed the car there, they diagnosed the issue within minutes as a brake caliper not tightened back on after the repair. Damage to the caliper/wheel, but could have been much worse. They replaced the missing bolt, tightened the rest, and we were on our way. They refused compensation, and told us to enjoy our weekend. If local, this is the place to take your car.
