A properly uninspiring outlet with a wide variety of sports wear and accessories. The problem I…read morehave with stores of this type is that nothing is done particularly well because there's so much emphasis on having everything. I had a look at the cycling and running sections. Ladies' cycling wear was beyond rubbish; half an aisle with poor sizing and about six different items. All pink or variations after the fact. The price of some of the clobber was good, but the cheaper the tag the poorer the gear. Saying that, I did buy a cheap pair of shorts for £9, so will see how they go. Bikes looked poor. You know when you look at a folding bike for £150 that packs up to the size of a small room you're not going to get much for your money. I think the bikes on offer probably fare okay for an occasional ride, but they didn't look great for anyone looking to do regular riding. Running gear fared slightly better with a whole aisle dedicated to shoes and clothing for women. There were more colours and different types of clothing on offer, so not quite as bad as the cycling section. I bagged a pair of running tights for £10. So all in all, some cheap bits and pieces on offer, but they are not quality items and probably won't stand up to much. But hey, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys (or words to that effect!). Customer service typical of a barn of this type; I overheard a staff member say "sorry mate, this is not my department", when someone asked a simple question. Sigh! I really do think that dedicated shops that specialise in one sport or interest are vastly superior to this kind of place; running shops with runners and cycling shops with cyclists and outdoor shops with outdoor lovers provide a much better experience and have a wealth of knowledge in comparison to places like this. I suppose this has its place as the first port of call for someone maybe picking up a sport or outdoor activity for the first time... Or maybe for someone to try and grab a bargain? But I'm not sure I'll be making an effort to go back.

So for as it was near closing time, I still managed to look round their vast, and I mean vast sports and outdoor ranges. That took around 20 mins to briefly sniff out what they had, and judging by what I saw it seems I'm hooked so will defo be back later for supplies. From camping gear to wet suits, footwear to workouts, Don't think I've been in a bigger warehouse that supplies all these items under one roof in Scotland? Great got what I was after, quality sports shoes(5/10), anyhoo means I can now workout at home, or go back to the gym without fear of staff staring and pointing in disbelief at the state of my worn out footwear while muffling laughter...nice one Dec.

A world cup shirt will set you back £45 and expect to pay a similar amount for the new kits for the coming season. If you want a specific shirt and are willing to pay the price to get this seasons shirt then this is the place to come. However, if you have a budget to keep to, you might find this place less accomodating. What they do offer over other places in the area is the offer of team kits. 14 outfield shirts plus a goalkeepers kit will set you back upwards from £290 depending on how much you demand of your teams new kit. This isn't too bad a price at just under £20 each should you want your team to take on a more professional look. Numbers will set you back another £35, but what is only £2 extra? This is a great place to get a team kit made up, but for anything else I find it a bit over priced.

Following the comedown of the world cup and with the beginning of the new season beckoning, I didn't see that many foreign strips. What they did have were an extensive range of football colours from across the UK, and some football shoes. They had the classic Adidas Samba that my football playing ex used to salivate over, and considering he got into a few scrapes when he played fives I can testify to the good service these shoes do. And in a shallow way, they do look rather nice. I didn't know that they made football strips up for teams as Robert has outlined. I did notice it was leaning towards more expensive, but sometimes independent places like that have more vairety than the high street or internet shopping. Definitely worth keeping your eyes peeled on this one.

After…read morereceiving excellent customer service and picking up an excellent picnic set bargain I've been singing it's praises ever since. I was intrigued as to how the branch in the St. James Centre measured up and so I popped in for a browse. To my delight, they still had the excellent sale on where many items have as much as 70% off! That is my kind of sale! Although much smaller than it's Princes Street counterpart it still has a varied selection of stock and everything is very well organised. It was a bit cramped though, especially as there was a woman in shopping with the biggest pram I've ever seen for the tiniest baby. They had an excellent range of camping stools with polka dots on them and I was very tempted to buy a few as they were the exact match for my picnic set. After realising that I'd have to carry them about Edinburgh all day I decided against it and instead went for a camping torch in the shape of a bumble bee. Excellent. The queue was quite large but instead of getting flustered, the staff were very friendly and I heard them giving pretty much every customer advice on how to get the best out of their purchase and how to keep it in it's optimum condition for longer.

They have all kinds of winter gear, camping gear and other sports gear. The staff helping us was very polite and provided advise as to what works and not and as I bought all these bulky jackets, he made sure that I was comfy in carrying all of them. Can't wait to try them on and see the rest of my family's reaction when I got them the bargains! Looking forward to the winter!
