The Harris Construction

The Harris Construction

(1 review)

Jimmy Harris, owner of Harris Construction of Corinth, MS, half-ass practicing his craft here in…read moreShelby County without a TN contractor's license and skating through the regs by borrowing a buddy's. I hired Jimmy for a $30,000 rehab and paid him for all the materials on the front end, as required. Included vinyl siding, kitchen and bathroom updates, a section of fence, converting the laundry room to a walk-in pantry and moving the laundry out to the guest house, and sanding, staining and sealing the hardwoods. Jimmy started as agreed, on the siding, in March. He worked three days, then turned the finishing touches over to two profoundly low-skilled helpers who didn't know how to cut a 90 degree angle and basically just blunt-cut every piece and glued t up there. I alerted Jimmy right away and he vowed to return and make things right personally. At this point I had paid Jimmy about half and he had "completed" just the siding (on my brick house it's only trim plus the guest house so this wasn't a huge job). Then, every week a new member of Jimmy's family died and he was the only person who could arrange their funerals. His brother-in-law died four times in July. By August, it was clear Jimmy was never coming back. And since August, I've spent almost every free hour trying to find a contractor to finish these jobs, which now cost THREE TIMES every original bid I got before COVID. When picking a contractor, please consider Jimmy Harris Construction. Invite him to bid on your project. Take up his time. Then send him away with nothing.
